Chapter 5.02

Chapter 5.Welcome to the summoners school.(2)

Even the professors seem to want to leave the school.

These words were what began the meeting between the core faculty. A sigh simultaneously came out of everyones mouths .

-What now?

What now? Were going to have to go all out, of course.

They can leave ifthey want.

Everyone made a shocked face whenI said this. Are you guys surprised?

Th, then what about the students

They can leave too.

We cant have that! Whywould we cut off the number of students especially whentheyre leaving already?!

Whena professor said this inrage, everyone else inthe room began to mutter inagreement with him. Butwho am I?! I am a proud man of Korea, the man from the nation of competitive education!

What matters is what the Empire thinks of us, not the number of students.

What does thatmean?

Numbers dont matter. Sometimes, small numbers bring positive light.

Explain, please.

Unlike others, the principal seemed to have realized what I was talking about. Well, he is the principal, afterall.

The Empire is the strongest nation inthe world. We have several times the amount of nobles compared to other nations. Butthings are different whenit comes to high class nobles. We have less dukes thanother countries, andthe number of marquesses inthe nation equal thatof neighboring nations.

What are you trying to say here?

Sometimes, having less makes you stand out more. Therefore, there is no need to stop professors whoare trying to leave. We can just use this chance to keep the teachers whotruly care about the school. We have plenty of people whoare more talented thanthem. Redirecting the money spent onuntalented teachers to the talented ones will be more profitable inthe long term.

That would create many problems inregards to educating

Thats whywe need to cut down the number of students. Looking atthe students whojoined the school last year, most of them were just here to transfer to different schools.

Right.

Theres no need to take them in. No, ifwe do, we will simply be used. Unlike other schools, we can only truly shine whenwe teach a select few. Right now, its simply more profitable to teach a small amount of students.

What about cash, then? We cant evenrun the school with the current tuition fee. Butif we cut down the number of students

One of the professors asked this asI explained everything. Hoho, what a stupid fellow. Ifwe dont have enough cash, then we can just

Raise the tuition.

What?

I smiled asI stared atthe dumbstruck professor.

If we dont have cash, we can simply raise the tuition. Inreturn, we provide better education.

Are you serious? Do you seriously think thatwould work?

It works. Whydo you think the tuition forMercaria is the cheapest? Becausepeasants go there the most? Becauseits an institution specifically created forpeasants? Whydo you think Marcis has the highest tuition? Becausethe ingredients required forexperiments are expensive? No. Thatis not it. It has to do with the number of students they teach. AsMarcis is an educational magic tower, it works with the professors choosing their students. Each professor works with around ten students. ButMercaria is different. Each professor teaches around fifty students. He would list out information ona blackboard, andexpect students to understand everything. Becauseof this, only the real geniuses will be able to become high ranking officials, whileothers would only handle menial tasks inthe government.

How does thatmatter?

The quality of students. InMarcis, whenstudents hit a wall, they can always consult their professors. Butthats not always possible inMercaria. Ifa student inMercaria fails to keep up, he/she will have to try their best to catch up. We asa school, therefore, can work to instruct a small group of students aselites. We must stick multiple professors to a single student ifwe have to. We will make elites.

Is thatpossible?

It is. The majority of students whocome to Marcis andYugrasia are from noble families. To them, tuition fees do not matter. What matters to them is good education.

I suppose youre right.

We just need to satisfy the parents. Andafter that is this.

-Holy crap dont you have a lot of cash onyourself already? Are you addicted to earning cash? I thought we came here to hide?

The bat seemed to be extremely surprised atthe paper thatI took out. The other professors seemed to be equally surprised whenthey read it.

T, this is

Well, its certainly revolutionary, but

Can this be done?

There wasnt much thatI wrote onthat piece of paper. There were only 3 major points onit

1. Afterschool study time! (extra tuition)

2. Night study time! (extra tuition)

3. Weekend study time! (extra tuition)

Inother words, the life of a Korean high school student!

The students will not be able to take this.

One of the professors said this to me with a dumb face.

They can.

They can take it. Korean high school seniors were beings thathad a schedule thattranscended that. This? This was something thatevenmiddle schoolers could take.

Why the hell would you force them to study 9 hours a day?!

Whysosurprised? Korean high school students are beings thatare equivalent to Saiyans. They are a race of studying thatnormally study 14 hours a day.

Having them come to school inthe weekends is

They will be coming here to study. Afterall, the sole purpose of students is to study!

T, theres no way the students would comply with this!

Doesnt matter. Its ok aslongasthe parents are fine with this.

N, no!

Please, think of our current situation beforesaying anything like that.

The angriest professor inthe group shut up with that. Right. This place is about to close down. They were inno position to reject an idea becausethey didnt like it. No, beforethat. Its just 9 hours of studying. Coming out inthe weekends might be a problem, butthey live ina dorm anyway, right? Theyre just coming to school atten, then leaving at7, right? Thats basically heaven!

Ill be asking this forthe last time. Do you truly think students can survive under such a condition?

Yes. Ina certain country I know of, students come to school at7 inthe morning, andleave at10 atnight.

T, thatis?!

I, it has to be a lie!

Everyone made shocked faces. Haha, surprised with just this?

And afterthat theyd go to private academies forextra study.

A, at10?!

Academies werent meant to replace school inthe first place?!

W, whenwill they sleep?!

And inthe battle inthat nation, known assenior year, students would get 4 hours of sleep a day intheir bloody battle forknowledge.

It has to be a lie! Only demons would force students to doing something like that! No! Not evendemons would do stuff like that!

R, right! I cannot believe a lie like that!

They truly are good professors. Ifonlypeople like these were inKorea well, theyd instantly be crushed by the educational pressure andbe converted into generic Korean teachers. No, actually, Id be turning this entire place into a second Korea! A land thatis fanatical about education!

Perhaps it is better to change like professor Nicerwin had suggested.

Students wont be the only problems here. The faculty will become extremely busy aswell. But inorder to save the school, we need to sacrifice ourselves. I no, we need to stick together to save the school!

I put an emphasis onthe we part. Group mentality deteriorates fast, andcontains many problems, butits easy to drag everyone into a certain path aslongasyou handle it right.

Sincethe principal andthe vice principal already thinks of me highly, they supported my ideas, andothers began to follow suit given some time.

-Dear god what did the students evendo to you..? This is too much!

[My school life was worse thanthis.]

-L, liar! You never went to school! Youre a commoner!

[You say that, butyou know it is the truth. Our souls are connected, meaning thatyou can notice atleast thatmuch. Accept the truth.]

-N, no! Theres no way! Theres no way a school like thatexists!

Perhaps the bat, too, reached its mental limit. It denied reality with a shout, butsee, reality doesnt change no matter how much you shout.

Then we will follow through with professor Nicerwins suggestions.

Everyone nodded. Hoho, things will get simple from here.

[Now, only the most important part is left.]

-Whats that

[Firing the faculty.]
