Soojiki’s note: Enjoy 4/6

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With lunch done, I’m swept away in wanting to relax.
Though there’s no rules for a lunch break, our house usually set aside an hour of rest.
If there’s rest, there’s no dissatisfaction. I’d like to brag about my family being the best in the village but we’re not always full of laughter and being talkative.
This world is small (or rather this village) so there’s not much topic to discuss about besides the weather or how work is. So there’s barely an hour’s worth of talk sometimes.
Well, there’s really not much topics to talk about──and the topic can get boring. If I were to even talk about something like that, Sapull and Toota would not want to do their work.
That’s why we take a leisure break after lunch. Well, our rule is some task are sometimes trivial.
“Anchan, are you going to help Yap-chi in the afternoon?”
Sapull asked while tidying up.
Three house down (about 300 meters away but they’re still neighbors considering this is the countryside) is this Yap-chi, who’s a boy the same age as Sapull.
His younger brother goes out collecting timber. His mom looks after the field and animals. His old man is a cage making master. Yap’s the oldest of the 3 sons and 2 daughter helping out, well, that’s about the average sized family for mountain dwellers.
“Auntie is about to give birth and they’re going to help Aunt Ni too”
Well, there’s not much entertainment in the countryside so the ‘night is long’. Everyday──ah, it’s not like I know but I’ve heard from the ladies talking about how excited and hot things can get.
“O-chan and Aunt and O── ouch!”
Midway through, mom smacked me. Not only that, it’s with a firewood.
“What’s that for mom!”
I may have a healthy body but I take no interest in being hit with firewood!
“What are ya try’na teach these kids. Seriously, where’d you get that sort of wisdom from”
Oops. Forgot I’m a 10 year old.
Since there’s no school, there’s no s.e.x education but it’s a “tradition” for those who’ve had experience to teach the newbies. Apparently its tradition for the men and women of society.
Well, it’s tradition but be that as it may, such topic is still taboo for a 10 year old. To the extent that the talks from the ladies is always exciting became a habit.
“Alright, ok, I’m sorry.”
Even though I may look like a brat, I’m in my mid 50’s inside. Though I had a c.r.a.ppy life, I do have experience and know a thing or two about love. In this rural countryside, the s.e.x life and p.u.b.erty is behind── but since this is a new life, I might as well enjoy the new feelings.
“Alright then. Guess it’s about time I prep to leave soon. Ah, Toota. Can you confirm the goblins again? Sapull, though I don’t think anything will happen, if by any chance at all a goblin pa.s.ses through to the village, make sure you deal with it”
A short time ago (ah, maybe just today too) she’s been able to handle wolves or hogs so this may be nothing to her, though her experience in battle is less than Toota. Therefore, I trained them to make sure they deal the death blow twice in case (double tap).
“OK”
I guess I gotta get back to work for the afternoon.
