20 Epic Combat... Kinda

I could try to poke into only one of the monster's visions. The problem is I don't know how they see. It's pretty d.a.m.n obvious to my new vision they don't have eyes. I mean, their whole face is a horrific looking mouth so I would hope they don't have eyes in that thing. Not to mention the fearsome mandibles this new variant of acid centipede have, they look stronger than mine! So that option is definitely not on my radar.

The only thing I can think of is to tail them until one decides to break off from the group. I'm pretty sure that if I maintain this distance I'll be okay. Come to think of it, how would these monsters feel knowing someone like me planned to murder them? I bet they'd be laughing. It's not often something not even a quarter of your size or strength dares to think of killing you. It would be pretty funny to me.

Whoah, hold up. What the f.u.c.k is that thing?! Is that a snake? A better question would be is it the first creature I ever saw in this dungeon? I thought it died. Though, come to think of it, considering that every other monster has a stronger variant here this may just be it. That's not the point. This one seems to follow in the footsteps of its junior and wants some centipede snacks. I may be seeing a chance here.

The snake is oblivious to my thoughts and reacts as you'd think it would when it sees the centipedes. It's not even cautious, it just jumps straight into the pack with a hiss. The centipedes surprisingly don't show any fear of the intruder either. With some d.a.m.n fantastic that leaves me speechless, the pack of acid centipedes coordinates into a flawless group within a second! Three centipedes bravely rush forward to tank the snake while two back off and prepare to shoot acid from their rears. The final one is the biggest surprise, however. It seems to cast a skill of sort that allows it to be unseeable. Well for the snake I think. It does nothing for it on my end because the heat still shows its body clearly. There are truly some pros to this type of vision. Anyway, back to the battle.

The snake clearly wasn't prepared for the coordination of these centipedes, but it appears it doesn't matter as it clashes with the first three centipedes fearlessly, tossing two backward and straight-up flinging the third into the wall where it slumps, temporarily out of the battle. Who knows how long that will last though, the centipedes seem to have quite quick regeneration abilities if this one is to be believed, as its wounds are quickly scarring.

The centipedes' sacrifice was not in vain either. The snake may seem to have gained the advantage, but the other two have finished preparing their shot, and they let loose a greenish-blue acid straight into the face of the snake. I remember the basic profile saying that the acid was poisonous, and the steam coming off of the snake definitely seems to prove it, or if that's not enough the scream of the snake should be.

The snake is now enraged, and it lets out a scream that disorients the centipedes, even making the final one reveal its position, which was conveniently behind the snake, getting ready for a fatal strike. Of course, the scream doesn't affect me that much, though I still somewhat hear it and see the heat waves react to it, which is pretty cool. It seems I'm immune to many sensory abilities. The snake, now having temporarily paralyzed the centipedes, takes the chance to strike, straight-up cutting one of the tanks in half! It's amazing and pretty gruesome. I can't imagine being caught in that snake's jaws, which now begs the question, how am I going to get a kill here? I only have a day and a half to level up, and even that time is fading fast. This isn't good. I have to take action, and quickly before it's too late.
