10 Time To Go, No Regrets

Dungeon, you may ask. Yes, I've taken to calling this place a dungeon, or an underground prison of sorts. I may actually be able to tunnel my way up to the surface, but something warns me from that. Monster instincts suggest that only death awaits there.

So where am I heading? Well, I'm going to tie up some loose ends. I'm pretty sure it's time for me to go deeper. I'm uncomfortable with the environment here, and the deeper I go the better I feel, probably because I'm a worm. But first I must get my revenge on the acid centipedes.

And so I wander around for a bit, looking for some centipedes and generally just taking in my surroundings for the last time before I embrace the depths of this prison h.e.l.l. I mean sure, I find a couple of monsters here and there but they can't do anything to me and so I gain around five more Life Matter before I finally find an acid centipede, albeit a very weak one it seems.

Following the centipede for around an hour, I notice it meet up with another one before heading off to their base. So they explore in pairs huh. Guess that's how they know if one or two of their kind dies without risking too much. After finding the nest, I don't hesitate to jump in, testing out my new body. Now I'm not narcissistic, but d.a.m.n this body is mighty fine now. The time before when a little centipede could threaten me seems so distant as I slaughter my way through their nest, encountering little resistance even from the Warrior variants, as rare as they are.

After sweeping through the nest and waiting some time before I was sure they were all dead, I felt very satisfied. I gained about 20 life matter from this raid, boosting me right back up to where I was before. Maybe I was too scared when I first came here, but I feel like I could've gotten stronger way more quickly if I had been more daring. Oh well, I still have my life so I can make do. Back in the nest, I found something interesting.

When I finally made my way through slaughtering the centipedes like sheep, I found a blue swirling blue ma.s.s of fog, if I were made to describe it. So what do you do when you see something unknown? Absorb it of course! Ok, jokes aside, it was purely by accident that I absorbed whatever that thing was into myself. I was just curious, so I wormed over to it and it just kind of floated into me. It felt good though, incomparably good. Won't do it again though, I felt too safe for a moment.

Alright, I guess I can explore a bit more before I go. I never really explored this labyrinth of a dungeon I lived in, I preferred to make my own, but I get the feeling I missed out a little. For example, I never really noticed all of the blue glowing flora or the actual biodiversity this place had. And the crux of it all, the tunnels seem to be made to encourage delving into the depths of this place. It slowly slopes downward the farther I head away from my now former home. Now back to the matter of life matter, before I go I guess I should ponder over my suspicions. Every time I upgrade a body part, it costs more than the previous, but more than that, I feel like actually gaining life matter from lower upgraded creatures becomes harder. I might have been better off mindlessly eating dirt for a while before actually hunting. Oh well, we live and learn.

Okay, it's about time to head out, so I guess I'll check my status and be on my way. I also conveniently leveled up to four while I was out! Status!
