Chapter 32. Quest (5)

“Do you think there’s something outside?” Kim Hyun-Sung asked.

“Well…don’t you think the food out there is more delicious than what we’re eating here?” Park Deok-Gu asked.

“Sob…”

“...”

“...”

“I told you that I’m fine,” I told Jung Ha-Yan.

The people that were talking to each other became quiet, and it was because of the event that was happening.

Jung Ha-Yan was not able to hold back her tears after staring at me because she started crying again. She wasn’t as emotional as the first time, but sometimes, she would release large droplets of tears, and every time I saw that, I felt a bit weird.

Of course, the situation wasn’t bad because Kim Jae-Jun and Jung Jin-Ho were watching us.

In order to make the harmonious atmosphere of the party last longer, we exchanged several conversations, but when Jung Ha-Yan kept on crying like this, the atmosphere became slightly gloomy. If an outsider saw us, they would probably think that it was me that died, not Lee Ki-Chul.

Jung Ha-Yan’s glares at Kim Jae-Jun became a normal occurrence, and I couldn’t imagine just how uncomfortable he felt right now.

At this point, Jung Jin-Ho’s party had no choice but to obey us because after Lee Ki-Chul got involved in an unexpected accident, the balance between our powers had tipped over. His party seemed like they gave up on hunting us. Unless an unexpected opportunity opened up for them, it seemed like they had decided that it would be best to just go along with capturing the dungeon.

‘I would’ve done the same thing if I was in their position.’

If I was in Jung Jin-Ho’s place, I would have given up on the plan to kill Kim Hyun-Sung’s party. But at the same time, this was the reason why they were so sensitive at the slightest conflict.

“I’m really sorry,” Jung Jin-Ho said.

“It’s fine, Mr. Jin-Ho. I’m a bit embarrassed because I’m not in the position to keep receiving apologies like this,” Kim Jae-Jun said.

Seeing as how Jung Jin-Ho kept apologizing to Kim Jae-Jun, I could tell that they were being overly sensitive.

“I…overreacted,” he said.

“It’s understandable and once again, I’m sorry about what happened,” Jung Jin-Ho said.

I didn’t know what kind of conversation they were having, but every time Jung Jin-Ho apologized, Kim Jae-Jun also apologized back to him.

The problem was that Jung Ha-Yan’s hostility towards them was gradually growing as time went on.

“W-Why are you sorry…”

She started talking to herself more and more as if she wanted me to listen. I was worried that she might actually spill out her actual feelings, but I was sure that she would be able to differentiate between what she could say and what she could not.

Yoo Seok-Woo’s reaction was a bit amusing.

“...”

When I first revealed that Jung Ha-Yan and I had a close relationship, he looked like he was in a bad mood and as expected, when Jung Ha-Yan and I started traveling together, he started to show how uncomfortable he was. I was sure that he also realized how much Jung Ha-Yan thought about me every time she cried to the point of having swollen eyes.

‘Yoo Seok-Woo…’

From the beginning, he was nothing more and nothing less than a sex offender to Jung Ha-Yan and as the person that only made an attempt, he was one of the people I was surprised to see here. After thinking about what Yoo Seok-Woo did, I would understand if he started hanging out with a group of criminals, but I had a feeling that Jung Jin-Ho’s group must have promised him something.

That was probably how he got a job. By partying with them, he could probably earn experience or maybe even…Jung Ha-Yan.

He was probably excited at the thought of winning back his lover once he completed this hunt successfully, but since his plan was close to going down the drain, I understood why he was looking at me with jealousy.

Anyways, it was their party’s plan to make it seem like we were going to move in that direction. A beautiful party that had minimal conflicts, no quarrels, and no fighting. We were able to get this kind of result because Jung Jin-Ho and Kim Jae-Jun started obeying us, but unfortunately, I wasn’t planning on getting along with them.

Kim Hyun-Sung sometimes looked like he was deep into his thoughts and I hoped that it wasn’t about how he could get rid of Jung Jin-Ho because they killed Park Hye-Young, and it was only right for them to die in a place like this.

When thinking about the reaction that Kim Hyun-Sung showed when he first saw Jung Jin-Ho, this was less likely to happen.

Jung Jin-Ho, Yoo Seok-Woo, and Kim Jae-Jun were still wearing their facade and if our party attacked them first in a place like this, Kim Hyun-Sung would be the one that would go crazy. I was certain that he at least didn’t want to show his other side to me and the others, so it was possible that he was waiting for an opportunity or a way to justify his further actions. No, I was certain that this was what he had in mind. When Kim Hyun-Sung occasionally frowned, he looked like he was either thinking about when to kill them or a way to justify their deaths.

‘Is it okay to help him?’

Kim Hyun-Sung looked like he needed help. He was trying to make a plausible situation or a situation where it would just be Jung Jin-Ho’s group and him.

For example…

‘Getting attacked first.’

Since that was probably the most ideal.

The heroes of justice that fought against a group of cowardly criminals who ambushed them had a nice ring to it. The problem was that Jung Jin-Ho and his lackeys, who lost Lee Ki-Chul, probably wouldn’t attack us first.

But one of them had intermittent explosive disorder while the other was a man drowning in jealousy. This task was probably going to be so easy that I could probably sleep through it.

‘Provoking is my specialty.’

Especially when it came to Yoo Seok-Woo since he had just recently joined Jung Jin-Ho’s party. There was a good chance that Jung Jin-Ho had never seen all sides of him.

It only took a moment to plan out my thoughts.

First, using Jung Ha-Yan to provoke him wouldn’t be a bad idea.

I didn't have any big plans.

“Oh…”

But… Physical contact. This should be enough.

“Oppa…” Jung Ha-Yan whispered.

She sounded a bit surprised, but she didn’t bother moving the position of my hand. I guess just having my hand between her waist and pelvis area was enough to make her feel a little bit nervous. Someone might think that I was walking while supporting myself using Jung Ha-Yan.

I was sure that both Jung Ha-Yan and Yoo Seok-Woo were the only ones that found the position of my hand confusing to look at. It was because it wasn’t on her waist, her pelvis, or her buttocks. Despite placing my hand on a spot that was difficult to describe, I still got a reaction.

‘Pfft…’

I could feel Yoo Seok-Woo’s furious gaze.

“Oh, Ha-Yan. Sorry…” I said.

“I-It’s okay. You can grab…wherever you feel comfortable…” she said.

“Still…”

“It’s okay…” she said.

His miserable face looked as if I had just stolen the girlfriend that he loved so dearly. Even while Kim Hyun-Sung, Jung Jin-Ho, Park Deok-Gu, and Kim Jae-Jun were talking about the dungeon, Yoo Seok-Woo kept his eyes on me.

When I discreetly moved my hand lower, Jung Ha-Yan lowered her head and smiled.

‘She’s enjoying it a lot…’

I didn’t expect this kind of reaction, but on the other hand, Yoo Seok-Woo looked as if he was furious the moment our eyes met…It was obvious, but…

I didn’t forget to smile.

‘I know you’re jealous.’

He must have seen through my thoughts without me saying it. Sometimes, actions and expressions were a great way to have a discreet conversation.

“Thanks, Ha-Yan. Aren’t you tired?” I asked.

“No! I’m fine. Compared to what you have done, this is nothing,” she answered.

The guy acted like a clown in order to hold and touch Jung Ha-Yan and to him, it would seem like I was touching all over her body. Thus, it was reasonable for him to react that way.

It didn’t really matter whether he was serious about her or not, although, I have a feeling that he was serious after recalling how pathetic he looked back then, but…

‘This feels good.’

He was the one that started this and I had lots more to show him. I wanted to show him her eyes that were worried about me, and the sweet voice that she used to talk to me. Even though her voice didn’t sound so sweet to me, her voice sounded like she had put honey all over it, so I was sure that this would hurt his heart even more.

‘I’ll hold her hand.’

And press my body against hers. I would then place my hand either on her waist or shoulder to maintain the right amount of tension.

‘Conversation between bodies is good.’

It was a conversation method that could cause sexual tension.

Jung Ha-Yan’s face had already turned as red as possible and despite that, the smile on her face didn’t go away. I thought about stopping since her breathing was getting rough, but…

I couldn’t stop. In the end, I guess Yoo Seok-Woo couldn’t handle it anymore because he started talking to her.

“Miss Ha-Yan, you look really tired…I-I can,”

“...”

“Pfft.”

I couldn’t help but smirk after seeing Jung Ha-Yan completely ignoring him. His face turned red, just like Jung Ha-Yan’s, but it was for a different reason compared to hers.

Kim Hyun-Sung, Jung Jin-Ho, and Park Deok-Gu looked back at us because of the small commotion and when Park Deok-Gu noticed Jung Ha-Yan's ragged breaths, he spoke. “Hey noonim, we can switch if you’re tired…”

“Yeah, Ha-Yan. I didn’t get hurt that badly and…”

“Oh! No! I-I’ll do it. Me…together…” she answered.

“Well, it looks like noonim wants to stick with hyung-nim…but if you get tired, you have to let me know,” he said.

“I will,” she said.

Park Deok-Gu intercepted at the perfect time. It was the same thing as showing that it was Jung Ha-Yan that wanted this, not me.

When I placed my hand on her waist and looked behind, my eyes met Yoo Seok-Woo’s eyes.

Smirk.

He looked at my smile. I knew he was having a hard time enduring it.

“It feels pretty good,” I said.

“Sorry?” she asked.

“It’s nothing, Ha-Yan,” I told her.

“Okay…”

I saw Yoo Seok-Woo trembling. It was obvious that if he had self-control, then he wouldn’t have done something like that back at the shelter.

If Yoo Seok-Woo was by himself, then it would have been difficult for him to endure.

He grabbed his sword tightly and it seemed like he immediately wanted to stab me, but he ultimately held it in. I wanted to compliment him for doing that. I wasn’t sure if he wasn’t provoked enough or was looking for the opportunity, but I was sure that he needed both. Looking back once more, I grabbed Jung Ha-Yan’s waist.

“Gyahhhhh!”

“Let’s get ready to fight.”

A good opportunity came at the right time.

I grabbed my spear weakly and Jung Ha-Yan stepped away from me briefly and started reciting a spell. Park Deok-Gu, Jung Jin-Ho, and Kim Hyun-Sung still had no idea as to what was going on since their eyes were focused up ahead.

“Hehehe…”

I mumbled so that only Yoo Seok-Woo could hear me.

“You’re jealous, right?” I asked.

“You…”

“Ha-Yan feels really soft,” I said.

I couldn’t stop grinning as the corner of my lips went up.

“There’s five, so let’s get ready to fight! We’ll do it as quickly as possible!”

“You bastard!!!”

The moment Yoo Seok-Woo raised his sword, I contemplated whether I should run since his blade was aimed directly at my stomach…

‘It’s better to get attacked.’

I could survive his attack. With the healing ring that Jung Ha-Yan had, I could recover from a sword wound like this. As I got stabbed, I started to feel goosebumps.

“Ahhhhhh!”

The pain couldn’t be compared to the pain that I felt when I got punched in the face.

I couldn’t help but scream in pain as the blade felt like a hot iron rod.

It went without saying that everyone’s eyes fell on me. Jung Jin-Ho and Kim Jae-Jun looked as if they didn’t know what was going on, but they knew that something had happened.

Yoo Seok-Woo stabbed me.

I was worried that maybe Jung Jin-Ho was going to label him as a crazy person and abandon him, but…

When he screamed, I realized that I worried for no reason.

“I…I! Did it! Jin-Ho hyung-nim! Jae-Jun hyung-nim! I killed this bastard!”

He sounded too dignified for someone that killed the weakest of the Four Heavenly Kings.

Out of the cards that Jung Jin-Ho was holding, at least one was a perfect landmine.
