Cheers!

Snowflakes fell slowly from the sky, bringing with it the frosty intentions of a new winter, forming a white layer on top the great land of Lin Bei City.

Another winter season was here.

There weren't many pedestrians on the road, causing the streets to look desolate. In this cold winter season, no one was willing to travel.

However, the Luo Mansion Elementary, located within the city portrayed a warm scene. A few pieces of Warming Sun Stones were placed within the empty s.p.a.ces of the school's cla.s.sroom, emitting light and heat and rejecting all the frost and cold on the cusp of  entering, creating a s.p.a.ce of soothing warmth within the room.

A group of children around the age of eleven or twelve were seated within, listening to their teacher upfront performing a lecture. "The Bright Light Divine Dynasty's last emperor was the s.h.i.+ne Emperor, who reigned for 600 years. Not only was he an incompetent monarch, he was also had a ruthless nature and was excessively extravagant. During his reign, he built 124 palace buildings, performed a nationwide summoning of young woman 32 times, and even had a hobby of killing people with his own hands. Just from recorded history, he has ordered the execution of more than three thousand officials. The general population implicated was innumerable.…"

Although the teacher spoke seriously, the children below him showed no signs of interest and were dozing off.

Seeing this, the teacher without a word, rolled the book in his hand and use it to hit the table.

The noise was barely enough to keep the children alert, causing them to open their sleepy eyes to look at him.

The teacher felt both slightly angered and slightly helpless as he said, "What? Did you learn everything already?"

The children lowered their heads without a word.

Children by nature are playful and have no interest in the dry lessons, history was also not as interesting as Forged Body lessons. Some of the more daring kids were even wrestling silently under their tables at this moment.

The teacher pointed at a child, "He Si Nian, stand up, tell me about the Mutiny of Fu Luan. What happened?"

A child with a hooknose stood up, but no sound came from him after even though have a minute had pa.s.sed.

"Keep standing if you do not know. Yue Yang, tell me." The teacher pointed at another student.

The student called Yue Yang obviously did not know and could only stand together with He Si Nian, his face however showed a smirk.

After asking a few children, none of them could provide an answer. This caused the teacher to slap the table in angrily, "This is outrageous, I just spoke of it earlier on! Su Chen, tell me."

When he spoke the name, the teacher also used an obviously better tone.

A handsome little youngster stood up, replying with a clear and confident voice: "New Star Era, Year 23,000, Grand Minister Kong Cheng reported that the national treasury is empty and requested for a delay in construction of the subsidiary palace buildings. This enraged the Glory Emperor and he ordered the execution of Grand Minister Kong on the spot. This incident shocked the whole dynasty, and everyone began to fear for their lives. In the end, the Seven Great n.o.ble Clans joined forces and fought the Glory Emperor, leading to the destruction of the Radiant Divine Dynasty. When the Glory Emperor was a.s.sa.s.sinated, the a.s.sa.s.sin Cheng Shu used the name of Fu Luan to get close to him, resulting in historians adopting this incident as the Mutiny of Fu Luan. After that, with the extermination of the Radiant Divine Dynasty, the Seven Great n.o.bles split the land and divided the dynasty's territory amongst themselves, leading to the birth of the Seven Nations."

"Well said!" the teacher clapped his hands and laughed: "Hear this, hear this; this is how attending a cla.s.s should be. If Su Chen wasn't here, I would not have bothered to teach you brats! Indeed a child of a big family, you have a deep knowledge and not ordinary……"

After that, came a series of heavy praises.

The Su family was one of the four big families of Lin Bei City, a celebrated position.  Su Chen was one of Su family's third generation heirs.

Although only twelve years old, Su Chen portrayed a calmness rarely found amongst his peers of the same age; his diligence and studiousness has made him a teacher's favourite.

Receiving praises from the teacher, Su Chen was very tranquil.

In the eyes of the teacher, this form of tranquillity had become a display of a great leader's demeanour, while in the eyes of the other "mischievous brats", he was "acting profound".

"Che, so what if he knows, if he has the capability then use it during Forged Body lessons." The hooknose-d He Si Nian mumbled.

"Si Nian, Su Chen reached the Fourth Layer Forged Body yesterday," Yue Yang who was beside him, reminded in a soft voice.

The skinny face of He Si Nian became ugly immediately.

Obviously, this opponent was not only good with his studies, his martial cultivation was also faster than his.

Reaching Fourth Layer Forged Body meant Su Chen had the power of four horses.

Although this level of power was considered weak by many adults, but against He Si Nian, it was a level that could completely suppress him.

As his compet.i.tive heart quells, He Si Nian's mouth twitched before forcing himself to reply, "So what, he is still only a Blended Blood family."

This time, He Si Nian made a correct point.

This world was called the Origin Desolate World. People could cultivate Origin Energy to obtain strength. It was said that this energy is the origin of everything; it was born with the world when it was first created, therefore it can affect everything and control everything. This explanation was later recognized widely which led to its namesake. And an Origin Master is a t.i.tle given to those who can proficiently use Origin energy.

However, the power of Origin was not easy to control. During earlier times, humans did not possess the ability to use the power of Origin energy. Those that possess the ability to use this power were the Primordial Beasts. At that time, humans were just a food source for these creatures.

After millions of years of development, the Origin Desolate World began to change, and everything slowly became altered. Humans finally developed from knowing nothing, into achieving the Seven Realm Origin Master of now.

The answer to breaking the obstruction of using Origin Energy, was bloodline.

To obtain the power to use Origin Energy, it was told that humans invented the Bloodline Extractor. Through the extraction of demon beasts' bloodlines, they obtain the ability to use Origin Energy. This was because demon beasts were the only beings within the Origin Desolate World to possess the innate ability to use Origin Energy. Inventing the Bloodline Extractor raised humans into an age of glory, called the Radiant Divine Dynasty.

However, over the pa.s.sage of time, the once glorious nation of humans had fallen from its own doing. It was said that the Bloodline Extractor was damaged from the chaos of war in an era of disorder, and from then on,  humans lost their ability to extract bloodlines.

Fortunately, bloodlines could be inherited. Due to this, seven countries were formed and managed by the Bloodline n.o.ble Clans.

Although the Su Family was a big family within Lin Bei, but it was a family that rose afterwards. They did not  possess a bloodline inheritance, and instead obtained the power of bloodlines by taking Blood Spirit Potions. Blood Spirit Potions were an imitation product of the Bloodline Extractor. Its effect was also worlds apart from the real Bloodline Extractor. Those that obtained a bloodline from Blood Spirit Potions were thus called Blended Bloods; not only was the name a form of labeling, the room for growth was limited and could not be pa.s.sed down to their descendants. Even so, countless individuals experienced various hards.h.i.+ps in the hopes to obtain it.

Therefore, being a person without a bloodline, meant that no matter how elite Su Chen's talent was, no matter how much effort he would put in, his future was fated to be limited.

Of course, He Si Nian was also the same. Desolate Blood Royalty, Demon Blood n.o.ble Clans, Blended Blood Families – from the names of the conferring system, one will be able to know that the so called Four Big Families do not possess any bloodline inheritance. As a member of the four families, the He Family was in a similar position. However, this did not stop He Si Nian from finding a reason to despise his compet.i.tor - Since the finish line was the same, then this is just a matter of time.

The hook-nose teenager used this unique logic to console himself.

Time flew quickly.

Finally, the time for school to end had arrived.

The children cheerfully rushed out of the building; their servants were already waiting for them outside.

Su Chen was the last to leave the building, and once outside, a servant ran over to him, placing a white fox cloak on his shoulders, "Fourth Young Master, the weather is freezing, be careful not to catch a chill."

"Jian Xin, didn't I told you before. I have reached the Fourth Layer Forged Body; this weather will not affect me." Su Chen said as he walked towards the horse carriage.

"My dear young master, certain things are not about practicality, there is a need to keep up with appearances for certain occasions. If servants were to see that young master does not have a cloak on him, for those who are aware, they will know that young master is focusing on Forged Body and using the snow to train, for those who do not know, they will think that young master has lost favor within the family, and when that happens, they might treat young master with less respect." Jian Xin explained to Su Chen from behind.

Su Chen smiled as the heard him: "You and your glib tongue. Why would people treat me with less respect? In my opinion, if it happens, it will be you." Jian Xin crid out loudly in grievance in the car.

The driver cracked his whip and dove the carriage forward, a row of clear horse prints was left on the snow.

As the journey was dull, Su Chen opened a book t.i.tled

Su Chen replied without raising his head: "This is because you did not manage to see the story hidden within the book."

"The story hidden within the book?" Jian Xin got surprised and repeatedly look at the book, his eyes are filled with curiosity. What story is hidden inside this book?

Su Chen rolled an eye at him: "It is not inside; the story is in… sighs…, you will not understand even if I explained."

Su Chen simply placed the book on Jian Xin's hands: "Read this pa.s.sage."

Jian Xin has followed Su Chen for many years and has also learnt how to read, and so he read,  "The Glory Emperor was a.s.sa.s.sinated, the Divine Dynasty was in great chaos, Blood Extractor destroyed during the chaos of war, the method of extracting bloodlines is lost. Up till now, we humans have only managed to imitate a portion of the Bloodline Extractor's function, creating the Blood Spirit Potion, no longer able to extract high grade bloodlines like before…… what about this pa.s.sage?"

Jian Xin did not understand.

Su Chen retrieve the book and said: "Don't you find it strange? Since the Bloodline Extractor is invented by humans, why is it when the Bloodline Extractor was destroyed, we humans are unable to build a new one?"

Jian Xin replied: "Didn't the book said as such? The production method had been lost."

"How is it lost? This is a matter that is related to the rise and fall of humans, how could it be lost?" Su Chen question caused Jian Xin to be speechless.

Su Chen continued: "Let's a.s.sume that there might be a myriad of reasons that led to its loss, then why did they not build more in the first place? Based on what was in the book, a Bloodline Extractor can only extract ten different bloodlines per year, why did they only make one machine and not build more? Even if the manufacturing method was lost, why can't we research it again? Since we manage to do it before, why can't we do it now?"

After a series of questions, Jian Xin could only stay quiet.

Su Chen smiled and patted the book: "This is the story hidden within the book, therefore, do not simply use your eyes to read a book, you have to also use your mind."

The tone in his voice is filled with some self-satisfaction. The words he just spoke were actually the words of his father, but it is used by him to educate his servant.

Jian Xin continued to have a confused look as well as a shred of respect as he looks at Su Chen, "Then what are young master's thoughts?"

Su Chen was after all a young teen; feeling the wors.h.i.+ping eyes of Jian Xin made him feel good.

He replied, "I have an answer in my mind but you must promise not to tell anyone."

Jian Xin pat his chest and promised: "Rest a.s.sured young master, I will definitely not tell anyone."

Hearing his words, Su Chen felt a.s.sured.

Although he was intelligent, but he was still twelve years old, and was still unable to truly understand that the ability to keep a promise was very precious and rare.

He lowered his voice and said: "In my opinion, the Bloodline Extractor was actually not invented by humans."

"What?" Jian Xin is shocked, "Then who could have done it?"

Su Chen shrugs: "How would I know? I just feel that this is the only plausible reason that can explain why the humans possess a Bloodline Extractor but were unable to build one. Remember, you must not tell others about this."

In this rather close-minded era, to question the truthfulness of human history, would definitely bring trouble on himself.

At this moment, a light laughter reached him, as though someone is whispering beside Su Chen.

This shook Su Chen's state of mind.

"Stop the car!" Su Chen shouted.

The carriage stopped.

Su Chen left the carriage and looked around, snow falling from all directions.

There were just a few pedestrians walking on the big street, no one seems to be laughing.

"Young master, what happen?" Jian Xin asked from within the carriage.

Su Chen shook his head and replied, "It's nothing, let's go."

As Su Chen turned to board the car.

An ancient voice came from behind: "Young master, do pity this old beggar, please give me a mouth of warm rice to eat."

As he turned his head to look, he saw an old beggar covered in a rancid stench staggering towards him, on his hand is a chipped bowl.

The old man stood still not far from Su Chen, he stretched the hand that held the bowl, his expression is pitiful, his eyes are filled with emptiness and despair.

Su Chen sized up the old man for a moment before saying, "I do not know who you are but I know that you are definitely not a beggar."

The old man was stunned for a moment: "Little young master, what do your words mean?"

Su Chen sonorously replied, "It is currently snowing and real beggars would not beg in this weather. This is because the weather is too cold, and there won't be many people travelling; even if there are some pedestrians, they will also not do anything as they do not want to stop in this freezing weather. To beg in this condition, not only would you freeze, you would also not have any results. This is the amiss in timing. Next, this is Han Shui Great Street. This is a main pa.s.sageway of Lin Bei City, for smoother traffic; the city lord has decreed that beggars are not to beg on this street, those who do will be driven away, beaten or even captured by soldiers. This is the amiss of location. Next, it is about you, although your attire is torn and dirty but the torn areas are still neat, the time where your clothes have been torn was definitely not long. In addition, the stench on you is also amiss, a real beggar's stench is a type of moldy scent that is acc.u.mulated over a long period of time, it is not the sewage smell that you have on you right now. Also, your hand, although you made your body filthy but your fingernails are very clean. This is the amiss of person!"

As Su Chen finished his speech, he stared at the old man: "Therefore, even though I do not know what type of person you are, but I definitely know that you are not a beggar!"

When the beggar heard him, he lifts his head and laugh out loud: "Hahahaha, bravo kid, you have a pair of observant eyes and a mind proficient in a.n.a.lyzing. It's a pity you are still too young, and lack some experience; a rather naive character, and most importantly, do not know the value of hiding and keeping a low profile. However, this is no longer a problem, this is because you have met me. Meeting me, you will learn everything you lack; meeting me is your misfortune because I will bring you tribulation; meeting me is also your fortune because I will give you a future of infinite possibilities…… Allow me to change your eyes, not only will you see more, it will also help you to clearly see the true face of this world!"

As he finished speaking, he moved his hand.

Two cold glints entered Su Chen's eyes.
