'Even if she doesn't, just her being there is enough.' Gray thought to himself as he grabbed another communication device from the other corps member's waist.
He handed the device over to his sister.
"We'll use this to keep in touch. Let me know how the situation is when you get there, we'll be separating now, so stay safe and be careful." He spoke with a serious look.
"If anything happens let me know. Even If I'm on the other side of the city, or an entirely different one, I'll come."
Ria's cheeks flushed slightly as she grabbed the device. "I'm not a kid anymore... You don't have to be so worried about me."
Gray gave her a pat on the head, before looking up at the airships.
"Whatever you say." He muttered before vanishing.
"Whatever you say..." She repeated with her tongue stuck out.
After he disappeared, her expression grew slightly saddened. Through the corner of her eyes, she noticed the corps members staring at her with a surprised look.
"What?" She asked as she slowly turned her head to them.
"N-Nothing." They replied.
The space around her began to distort as a bright radiant glow was emitted from her eyes.
"Then, Let's get going... Tell me the direction and I'll teleport us there."
Ria's eyes widened as the shut reinforced doors ahead of him opened up.
She was accompanied by the three corps members from before.
Upon the opening on the doors, they could see but a single large hall with dimly lit lighting inside.
There were many sections around in the hall, and to get to it, all they had done was go through a zombie testing centre to make sure none of them were infected, but that was it.
"Is this what remains of the opposition corps?"
This base was completely different from the previous one. There were far less people, barely any facilities at all and even electricity.
There weren't any beds around, a large empty room with blankets and stalls which were handing out food. A large line of people could be seen behind these stalls.
Families could be seen amongst various small tents spread out evenly amongst each other. Despite the many tents, there were still people with nowhere to stay, thus forced to sit and sleep outside of said tents.
They were still setting things up, the people looked as if they had also been recently moved.
Ria concluded that these were the people gathered around from the previous base which had been destroyed.
They all mostly had depressed and dark looks on their faces.
Based on what she could see, Ria could tell why they were desperate to get someone new under command.
Everything was in ruins.
"You must be Ria, right?" A familiar voice came from the distance, as a figure approached Ria.
A tall lady with long orange hair typed back in a bun. She wore rectangular glasses, with a neat and tidy uniform.
Ria instantly recognised her, after all she was the President's personal secretary.
"That's right, it's good to see you again, um...?"
"Please, call me Cynthia."
On his own, Gray could be seen, standing on top of the falling Empire state building.
It was one of the only tall buildings which had managed to last this long into the apocalypse and had only just started to fall after Gray had climbed up it with [Pause.]
A beam from the fight between the few air ships and the many naval fleets, ended up striking it on Gray's way up.
With his hair swaying strongly as the wind brushed against it. Gray ran up the fallen pieces of the building during it's collapse.
Fortunately, it collapsed in the direction of one of the Airships, creating somewhat of a path for him to leap up to.
However, this path was only temporary as the entire building was collapsing at a fast rate.
[Pause.]
It failed, Gray was only able to pause a few connected pieces of the building from the top, it was simply too large for him to get the entire structure with pause at level 3.
Despite that, he didn't stop. He ran up the falling building, heading towards the bottom of the airship while a golden glow manifested from within his forehead.
[Activating Mark Of The King: First Stage.]
The glow grew brighter, and a maze-like puzzle emerged from Gray's forehead. The puzzle turned and rotated itself repeatedly, in aims of completing itself.
[First Stage: Activated.]
[Limitations on skills has now been overwritten.]
Gray slammed his hands together before slamming down on the buildings walls.
[Pause.]
Although it wasn't completely paused, Gray was just about able to pause a path ahead of himself to stably run through and jump off.
[Fast-Forward: Level 1]
Gray's figure vanished, appearing at a further distance away than before.
[Pause-Step.]
[Pause-Step.]
The same happened, again and again, before in just seconds, he appeared at the very edge of the building.
The bottom half of the building was still collapsing, but the edge had just barely and fortunately been paused.
[X-Ray: level 1.]
Gray looked down only to see the countless pieces of debris collapsing on the swarms of Zombies, and buildings below.
There were so many zombies, that Gray couldn't distinguish them from people or not.
He had a faint hope that no people were harmed from the collapsing of the building, but had no time to really contemplate on it.
The muscles on his legs bulged out as they contracted while he crouched down.
Through the bottom of the airship, he could see a large glowing stone. His aim was to leap onto it as it was what was closest.
He took in a deep breath. The pattern on his forehead glowed even brighter.
He grit his teeth and let out the breath.
In that instant, the muscles which had been contracting, expanded all at once, he burst towards the glowing stone at the bottom of the ship.
Despite all of that, he still wasn't able to reach it as it was too far up.
The occasional blasts being released, forcing a vast amount of wind pressure to push him down wasn't helping either.
Still, he paused the air beneath his legs, creating a platform which he landed onto, over half the way to the ship, before repeating the movement and leaping up again.
Gray repeated this over and over until a grin finally grew on his face.
