Chen Xin Ya spoke too much that her throat became dry. Seeing his wife clearing her throat, Chen Ting brought the cup of tea to her to lessen her discomfort. After that, she continued in a curious tone, "My little Mu, I've heard quite a shocking thing from Lin Que recently. This is another reason why I made you come home. You've never been the slightest into being a doctor. What made you change your mind?"

She was sharp with her instincts. Xin Ya knew that Chen Mu was not the type who would do things half heartedly. For him to suddenly, become the top of the legendary genius in the medical field worried her. Exactly because of his personality, if he suffered from any diseases, he would most likely hide it from them so that they wouldn't be worried.

As if he could read his mother's mind, he answered, "Don't worry, I'm not sick. I don't want to tell you guys the reason for now and I hope you will respect my choice. I want to wait until everything is ready to be out in the open."

Seeing the bitter smile on his face stopped their further questions, "Alright. It's getting late. Are you going to stay overnight? It's like one in the morning."

He shook his head in response, "Susu's waiting for me, so I need to go back home. She might be forcing herself to stay awake." The bitter smile from earlier was replaced with one filled with warmth and delight.

Xin Ya blinked a few times with a smirk on her face, "So.. you only told us that you two were a thing now~ When were you planning on telling us that you two were living together? Hmmmm?~~~"

"U..Um... That... Hahaha... Mom.. Look, it's getting late. Time to go. It's not safe for a girl to be home alone at this time of the day.. I mean night! Yeah, yeah, whatever questions you have, uhm, I'll answer it another day! Bye bye~ Love you mom, dad! Sleep tight!!"

He quickly waved his hand while running out of the house as if staying for another second would end up being a few hours. Chen Ting walked over to his wife who stood by the window, staring at Chen Mu skipping happily to his car.

"Our son has grown up." he whispered.

"Indeed. No wonder for all these years he had never been interested in even taking one look at the girls that I wanted to hook him up with. Oh wells, even better now. I can't wait to see Susu as my future daughter-in-law the next time we meet!"

She hugged Chen Ting's waist and rested her head on his chest. Although they had stopped asking questions about why Chen Mu had suddenly became a doctor in such a short span of time, a part of them already knew it was not great news or else he wouldn't look that way earlier.

"For now, we can only wait until he tells us.." Chen Ting whispered lowly as Xin Ya slowly nodded. They watched until Chen Mu had driven off far out of their sight before heading to bed.

When Chen Mu got back to his condo, he minimized every sound he made just in case she was already asleep. Seeing the faint glow coming from the living room, he a.s.sumed that Susu had forgotten to switch off the table lamp before going to sleep. He smiled and lightly stepped to the living room to turn it off.

When his foot touched the furry carpet, he stopped and turned his attention over to the couch where he saw her cozily wrapped in a blanket with her bear ear hoodie covering her head. She was sleeping soundly as if the rest of the world had nothing to do with her.

Bending his knees, he lowered to her eye level and brushed some strands of fringes away from poking her eyelids. She had a sweet smile on her face as he carried her gently in his arms back to her room. Every movement that he made was extremely careful, especially when he laid her in her bed.

When she frowned, he would halt in his moves until she looked relaxed again. After putting her on the bed, he tried to retract his arm, but she was resting on it. If he slipped his arm away from her, she would surely wake up.

This girl really knew how to play his heartstrings. Every time he moved slightly, she would either frown or wrinkle her brows. At the end, he gave up and decided to rest next to her with his arm as her pillow. Once in a while, she would throw a few kicks at him and tangle their legs together as if they were an octopus or something.

Sometimes he would notice a slight frown on her face, which made him wonder if she was having a nightmare. She woke up twice with her droopy eyelids, but his warm forehead kisses put her back to sleep in his embrace. At one point, she whispered as she dozed off, "We..lcome home.."

He smiled and covered her with the blanket while whispering, "I'm home." Perhaps she felt comfortably warm around him, her body snuggled closer to his body and arms used him as a huggable pillow.

That night, both of them fell asleep in deep slumber. Without any chaos or drama, their minds were free and happy. The next morning, Susu woke up and cuddled up to the warmth she felt.

"Ahhh! What a great dream! A huge huggable teddy bear that is warm and smells good!" Since her pajamas was furry, she didn't feel the hardness of his chest against her face. She rubbed her face on his chest without opening her eyes until her hand accidentally groped one of his b.u.t.t cheeks.

He lowered his head to face the energetic girlfriend of his, "Morning dear, are you satisfied with my round b.u.t.t that you're groping?"

"Hmmm?" She caressed his b.u.t.t cheeks thrice and then looked up with the huge smile she had on her face. This time, her eyes were opened, and she just realized what she had just done. 'I'm dooooomed! He must think that I'm a pervert!'

"U..U.mm. Good morning...hahaha...Y..you have a smooth b.u.t.t!" She gasped and quickly hid under the blankets out of embarra.s.sment, 'Oh my G.o.d! What did I just say???'

"Pffft, ahahaha I never expected you to be so bold. Thanks for the compliment." It was their first day as an officially dating couple and it already started out fantastic!

She peeked out of the covers and blinked, "How did I get back to my room?"

"I carried you, but you looked uncomfortable when I tried removing my arm as your pillow so I gave you my first time (First sleepover with a girl). Take responsibility for this a.s.s that you groped." He winked, making her wiggle back into the blanket.

"Aiya~~ So our family's Susu wouldn't be responsible for me. I lost my-"

She came out of the blanket once again and covered his mouth, "Noooo, don't make it sound so naughty! I only slept with you last night! Hmph! I'll take responsibility for your a.s.s, but that's it!"

"PFfft, as long as you're taking responsibility for me." He kissed her palm and pulled her close for a hug. Her heart was not ready at all for this morning strike of happiness. 'Who told these hands to not keep it to themselves and touched his toos.h.i.+e? Oh wells, it was a nice treat.'
