Chapter 189: Withdraw from the Compet.i.tion

The tall and burly Zheng Jiang stood in front of the team with a frown as he stared at the mess going on in the arena. The three unconscious Melee fighters looked extremely miserable, what more the girl sobbing in the distance.

“You s.n.a.t.c.hed the weapons of the other teams instead of finding them yourselves? I really take my hat off to you. Everyone else thinks that the more friends you have the more options you have in life. Yet, you actually offend everyone and forged so many enemies.”

Although he sounded calm and gentle, his words were clearly full of animosity.

Gao Junwei sneered. “Do you think everyone has the eligibility to be my friend? Are you guys worthy?”

Xing Lang was furious. Gao Junwei was his former cla.s.smate, and when he was in the School Tyrants team, he was rather formidable. However, he had already been kicked out, and yet, he was still that arrogant.

Just as Xing Lang was about to say something, he heard the Melee Awakened, Zhang Hui's voice coming from the headphones. “Xing Lang, there's no point in getting into a conflict with them. If you want to fight them, wait until the semi-finals.”

Xing Lang's “recklessness” was enough when it came to dealing with normal teams, but when they were facing a top-notch team like Gao Junwei's, they definitely couldn't act impulsively!

Zhang Hui went behind Xing Lang and dragged him to the side.

That was what Zheng Jiang intended to do too. Hence, he hurried to help.

Gao Junwei looked at the commander Zhang Mingming and asked, “What do you think of this, Commander Zhang?”

Zhang Mingming had memorized the information about all the teams, and while the two of them were speaking to each other, he had already finished a.n.a.lyzing. He nodded and said, “Sure, no problem.”

“Did I let you go?” Gao Junwei yelled at Xing Lang's teammates immediately.

The female Rules Awakened of Xing Lang's team had also lost her temper, seemingly unable to stand how arrogant Gao Junwei was. She retorted loudly. “Do I need your approval? Who do you think you are!?!”

Yu Zhen looked at Liu Chang and was just about to say something when she suddenly saw Zhang Mingming raising his fist in front of him.

Seeing this, Zhang Hui hurriedly dragged Xing Lang away while continuously casting glances at Zheng Jiang.

“You and Gao Junwei shall take chase while I and Zhang Weiliang stay here to guard the spoils,” Zhang Mingming said to Yu Zhen.

Yu Zhen was slightly stunned and she thought, Are we going to split up?

To be honest, she was not worried about losing and was simply just a little worried that Zhang Mingming and Zhang Weiliang would be in danger.

“Go, it's okay.” Zhang Mingming seemed to see through Yu Zhen's thoughts and said smilingly, “Zhang Weiliang and I will return to the task point with the battle spoils. We'll be waiting for you there.”

Zhang Mingming's choice was very interesting.

First of all, they were rather near the task point.

Gao Junwei nodded and quickly ran out together with Yu Zhen.

In the deep forest, the Xing Lang's team was still charging forwards and Liu Chang was obviously still upset. He couldn't tolerate Gao Junwei and his teammates' arrogance, robbing others of their battle spoils.

“Enough, Liu Chang. Stop nagging,” Zhang Hui said using Beijiang vocabulary which was more expressive. He continued, “Didn't you see how many headbands there were on Gao Junwei's arm? Didn't you count how many teams he has kicked out? It's not like you don't know how competent Gao Junwei is. He may have gone to another school, but would he join a weak team? We'd better focus on getting a good rank.”

“I'm not looking up to others and looking down on our team, but Gao Junwei's team should be attacked by Han Jiangxue's team,” Zhang Hui said coldly.

A ray of lightning suddenly cast down and seemed to explode in front of everyone!

Liu Chang was blown away by the sudden ray of lightning and thunder, which caused his body to turn extremely numb while being shrouded by the blue lightning. Not only did it hurt her, but it also interfered with her body's movements. In fact, it even stopped her from mobilizing the Star Power in her body.

Gao Junwei carried his Chinese sword and charged towards Xing Lang. Without hesitation, he launched another “Charge”!

“Stop it!” Zheng Jiang turned as pale as a sheet and gritted his teeth while looking at Gao Junwei. At this juncture, there was no longer a point in talking about friends.h.i.+p between cla.s.smates. Zheng Jiang understood Gao Junwei's personality and he didn't even think about that.

Gao Junwei stood up and placed the sword in front of him. “Be thankful. If it weren't a compet.i.tion, he would already be dead.”

Zheng Jiang hurriedly said, “Leave this place, we'll withdraw from the compet.i.tion.”

Gao Junwei lowered his hand and held onto the Chinese sword before using it to raise Xing Lang's skull.

Zheng Jiang's face grew sullen and he yelled, “Stop!”

Gao Junwei said with a smile, “What are you yelling for? I like collecting headbands. It would be better if they're stained with blood.”

Xing Lang was a bold and courageous guy too. He tried his best to turn over and raised his left arm which was still mobile. He then grabbed the bloodstained Chinese sword with one hand, seemingly not bothered by the fact that the sharp blade was cutting the flesh of his palm. He barked agitatedly. “Sneak attack… what… what do you mean by that!?!”

Before Gao Junwei even responded, he heard a loud scream from behind. He turned around, only to see an arrogant-looking girl with a ponytail holding onto an illusory scepter in her hand and ferociously launching attacks.

“Stop, we'll withdraw from the compet.i.tion. We admit defeat!” Zheng Jiang hollered loudly.

Yu Zhen ignored Zheng Jiang and instead, increased her output of Star Power. The color of the dark blue gemstone on the top of the scepter was even more intense. The lightning seemed to have scattered all over and it even affected the user, Yu Zhen.

However, Yu Zhen didn't seem to feel it, and she couldn't hear Liu Chang's screams. She simply looked at Liu Chang coldly and said, “Mind your words.”

Gao Junwei was slightly stunned. He had no idea what Liu Chang said to warrant such an attack by Yu Zhen.

“Stop it! You…” Zheng Jiang's expression changed. Ever since Xing Lang was driven out of the woods by Gao Junwei, their team had made the deadliest mistake.

The situation was worse than fighting in the arena.

At least, everyone would be mentally prepared and know how they should fight.

Gao Junwei's sudden intervention and the revolting Star Technique wiped the entire team out.

Where did that d.a.m.ned Zhang Hui go? d.a.m.n it.

Zheng Jiang chose to act decisively, and he couldn't be bothered to get into the ranks, because he felt that his life was the most important!

Zheng Jiang took off his headband and pointed the microlens at himself before saying, “Team No. 41 is withdrawing from the compet.i.tion. I repeat, Team No. 41 is withdrawing from the compet.i.tion.”

Gao Junwei froze for a moment. He understood that there was no way they could attack again since Xing Lang's team had chosen to withdraw.

At the next moment, everyone could hear the voice of the referee coming from their earphones.

Yu Zhen flicked her right hand, and the illusory scepter vanished without a trace. She kicked Liu Chang away casually and stopped.
