Third person POV.
Izuna stood on the floating arena with baffled expression. Tournament out of nowhere, special mission, floating arenas and the fact that, that girl who did most of this, was calling herself his elder brother's 'sister' (A/N: Gosh, his ears are sharp... They are like 20 meters away!) made him confused, excited and angry at the same time.
"Hajime!" His brother announced and those who were the first to come to their senses started to battle with their groups. Each group was equally balanced so it wasn't easy to win. Izuna sighed and also took out his weapon. Looking around, he noticed that his group didn't start their fights and only observed him.
'If I want to get a chance, the fìrst to leave must be him, the Leader's younger brother.'
'Okay, so the first one to be knocked out must be him.'
'They say that the enemy of your enemy is your friend, so maybe we could all team up and take him on.'
All of them looked at each other and came to a silent agreement. They all readied themselves. Kunais, shurikens and swords were drown and some of them started to make the hand signs for their jutsus. The atmosphere was filled with tension and operation, making everyone even more agitated. Izuna seeing noticing what they were planning activated his Sharingan and paid close attention to each and every movement they made.
The wind blew, carrying some leaves. One leaf was slowly descending onto the stage and the second it landed all of them engaged in the motion.
Moving at the speed of the wind around Izuna, they formed a tight circle completely surrounding him.
[Fire style: Great Fire Annihilation jutsu!] ×3
[Wind style: Air Bounds jutsu!] ×2
[Fire style: Fireball jutsu!] ×4
Nine of the opponents casted their jutsu in the direction of their target. The sea of fire was quickly approaching Izuna. Izuna started to move his hands at the rapid pace and shouted,
[Wind Style: Cutting Wind Jutsu] While spinning in al directions slashing the fire into small, harmless flames that were about to die out.
Immediately, something caught his ankle and one of the arms, lifting him into the air. Two people were now holding Izuna In the suspension while four fire b.a.l.l.s were nearing him at the high speed.
Izuna quickly threw few shurikens at the duo with his free hand, making them lose control over their wind jutsus. He found himself free and made a hand sign for the subst.i.tution jutsu. He reappeared instead of one of the swordsmen, while that poor soul had to experience a burning h.e.l.l. However, before that fellow for injured too seriously, he was teleported back to the spot where he stood before they were lifted onto the stages. His injuries were healed and a gla.s.s of water appeared next to him.
Looking up, he found that Malika was smiling at him.
"I told you, I will be incharge of the well being of all of you! Now rest."
Seeing that they will indeed be protected, all of the contestants stopped holding back. Many life threatening jutsu, traps, tactics and tricks were performed. Many were already off stage spectating at the remaining battles from a special platform that Malika created for them. It had a shelter and some water for them as a refreshment.
Izuna subst.i.tuted himself and was now surrounded by 7 people with swords in their hands and around 3 other shin.o.bi were providing a backup with shurikens, kunais and paper bombs. It took Izuna a few seconds to take in each and every position of his enemies, before he started to move at the spid of lightning.
With a series of accurate and deadly kicks, punches and slashes. he removed 5 out of the seven around him. A sword was coming at him from the above, but he was too slow to dodge it. A sword pa.s.sed cleanly, splitting Izuna in halfs. Baffled shin.o.bi froze for a second and felt a sharp pain from the direction of his abdomen.
"They say 'Never look the Uchiha into the eye'. This applies to the Uchihas themselves, you know. The moment I survived the arena, I placed many of you into my Genjutsu. Some of you were able to notice it and were quick to dispel it, but you, who doesn't have his Sharingan awakened, failed to do so. Now go on, rest." A light whisper came from behind the shin.o.bi, sending shivers down his spine. Those were the last words that fellow heard before appearing on the platform for the spectators unharmed.
"Your brother really is exceptional!" Malika said with excitement all over her face.
Many ninjutsu, taijutsu, genjutsu, kenjutsu and even a little bit of fujitsu were displayed right before her eyes. Traps, tactics and other techniques were gracefully displayed, fully captivating her attention. Her only sorrow was that she had to observe all of the battlefield really carefully and make sure to resque shin.o.bi before they died.
Well if they did, she has a spell that was coupled with a formation that will bring them back, but it was a lot more of a ha.s.sle than just saving them in the first place.
"I know." Madara answered with a gentle smile.
It took Izuna a little more than a minute to finish off the rest, leaving only three more people who were a lot harder to catch and kick out. Those were veterans of war and one young teenage-girl.
{'We got another prodigy rising.} Madara and Malika told each other at the same time.
{We will see if she will be suitable for the special force. If by chance she fails, we will put her into the regular police office.} Madara told Malika.
{Yup! Take good care of her.}
"Oh! Looks like battles on 15 arenas are finished!" Malika's voice resounded through all of the training ground.
Malika waved her hand and another arena, even bigger than any other she created previously, appeared. The four people who were left standing on their stages were teleported there, healed and provide shelter from the sun and a cold water.
Battles from other arenas were almost as exciting as Izuna's fight. No, actually they were even better. No matter who it would be, unless the numbers were too great for Izuna to handle or it was one of the greatest shin.o.bi + Malika, they will likely lose to Izuna. The mere 18 people wouldn't even come close to being enough to deal with him. However, other matches were perfect. Skills and experience were battling each other in fierce battles. Weak ones were quickly taken out and only the best from their groups remained.
It took 2 hours to finish the first part. Now, 100 of the strongest members of his clan, stood before Madara. His heart was filled with pride, especially for his brother, but he didn't let the emotions take over his mind.
"You are the best shin.o.bi that our clan had produced. However, it doesn't mean you are the strongest. I have seen how some of you won by using other strategies and specialities. Do not worry though, any talent and capability will be accepted when you win your final fight. Other half will be directly transferred and placed as a police in the Konohagakure."
Madara turned to other members who lost, "Judging on what I have seen today, I will select another 50 of you to be part of the police. They will be informed in two days via a message. Those who will not be selected can always strive for high position in the village while becoming stronger, and when you think you want to try again and enter the police, there will be some special tests later. Now, let us proceed. The final battle will be held in another hour. You have till then to rest, replenish as much chakra as you can and develop your plans!"
Madara finished his speech and sat on back on his chair.
"Everyone!" A crisp voice attracted attention of all of the people preset. "The fight will be held one hour later, till then, eat something!" A table with light snacks and refreshments appeared on the platforms of the winners and those who were playing the role of their audience.
One hour past quickly and the contestants were filled with vigor and were ready to fight.
The battle between 100 exceptional shin.o.bi was truly on a completely other level. Deadly poisons, weapons and strategies were masterfully applied. Flashy ninjutsu, threatening genjutsu and masters of taijutsu were crashing their opponents. By the end 50 out of 100 were selected. Izuna pa.s.sed as well, making his elder brother really pleased, while Malika was filling really excited after the battles were over.
"Good job everyone! Fill in those papers and you can go! Those who won must a.s.semble by the gates of the Uchiha district by 6:00 tomorrow morning." Malika clapped her hands while speaking and 50 sheets of paper appeared in the hands of those who won. They looked like this:
- Name..........
-Age.......
-Speciality.......
-A little bit about yourself:

?Congratulations and see you tomorrow!?

The papers were handed over and the clan meeting was dismissed. Even though, many didn't get into the top, none were unhappy or dissatisfied. They were reviewing their pros and cons and carefully studied todays battles. Some got through some kind of bottlenecks in their understanding, making the clan even more powerful.
Those who won also were a.n.a.lysing themselves. They won, but barely. Even Izuna was strangling and had to use his MS and Susanoo to win; however, since his Susanoo wasn't perfect, it was really painful and he couldn't maintain it for too long. He also used his MS abilities that further worsened his pain and caused a slight change in his eyesight. It was so insignificant that could be easily ignored, but to Izuna it revealed that he was getting too full of himself and this might cause his downfall in the future.
This day was recorded in the clan's history as a glorious day when the mighty Uchihas held a majestic and mystical tournament. It was named ' The tournament of the sky' and every year they would hold a festival where the strongest would fight and the most versed will direct the younger generation.
After Malika returned everything back to normal she left, while Madara went to the Hokage building to give a full report about today's events and the selection. For some reason, Madara thought it was the necessity to tell Hashirama and Tobirama about 'Brother-sister' thing and later that day Malika was asked if they were seen as her brothers. Well it was mostly Hashirama though. Tobirama just stood in the corner with a smile. In his view, Malika was someone like a sister or a friend and it didn't matter if she was willing to call him Nii-san or just like the usual, Tobirama.
In the end Malika gave in (not much resistance was put up. She was thinking of them as a family anyways) and from there on, She called them 'Nii-san'. Well in public she was calling Hashirama 'Hokage-sama' or 'Hashiramsama' which made the later depressed. but he had to accept his fate.
