Tang Chuan: “… I should’ve known. Wei Liao wouldn’t dare to speak like this.”
Su Yu: “Weren’t you adamant about never showing off your girlfriend and flaunting love in public? Who was it that said relations.h.i.+ps die quickly when you show it off? Are you going back on your word?”
Tang Chuan replied to Su Yu, “Master Su, I’m sorry, but we’re not exactly showing off our relations.h.i.+p.”
Su Yu: “Whatever you say, man. I admire your logic.”
Huo Mian: “I agree. I don’t admire anyone’s logic but yours.”
Tang Chuan replied to Huo Mian, “Holy c.r.a.p! Vice Director Huo, good evening!”
Huo Mian: “When are you sending back my sister-in-law? Are you making her spend the night?”
Tang Chuan: “Hahaha… I wouldn’t dare! Oh great Sister-in-law, please give me two more hours. I’ll bring her back after we finish eating.”
Wei Liao: “You’re already calling Huo Mian sister-in-law? Where’s your dignity?”
Tang Chuan: “For my honey, I don’t need dignity.”
Su Yu: “Master Tang… I’m going to look down on you if you’re like this.”
Tang Chuan: “It’s as if you’d respect me if I didn’t.”
Su Yu: “…”
In the final round of the bickering war, Su Yu lost.
Unwilling to accept his fate, Su Yu cleared his throat and yelled, “Little Bean, Pudding, come out and help!”
Three seconds later, the comments section entered a frenzy.
Little Bean: “Pets are cats and dogs.”
Pudding: “So, that means Uncle Tang sees Auntie like cats and dogs in his heart.”
Little Bean: “I’ve already saved the post. I’ll show it to Auntie tonight.”
Tang Chuan: “… please spare me…”
After just a few sentences from the twins, the previous champion of the bickering war, Tang Chuan, was about to cry.
Qin Ning looked back at Tang Chuan, who was busy playing with his phone. “Little Chuan, are you coming or not?”
“I’m coming, I’m coming!” Tang Chuan immediately put away his cellphone and ran up to her.
As far as he was concerned, making Qin Ning happy was his biggest job that night.
– Inside of a Thai restaurant –
Qin Chu and Rick sat down across from each other. Unlike other men, they would never get drunk during their meetings. Instead, they’d listen to each other’s words calmly and help one another to a.n.a.lyze the situation. They’d then ask for each other’s opinions in order to find solutions.
“I didn’t think you’d stay here for so long.” Qin Chu looked at Rick calmly.
“I didn’t expect it either.”
“How’s Xixi’s recovery?” Qin Chu asked.
“Not bad,” Rick commented.
“Don’t underestimate the severity of her gun wound. Although it looks like it’s healing well, you need to make sure that nothing goes wrong. Otherwise, it’ll lead to heart complications. The location of her gun wound is incredibly sensitive,” Qin Chu reminded.
“Yes, that’s what Huo Mian said too.”
“What are you going to do now?”
“In what aspect?” Rick looked up at Qin Chu, still unfazed.
“Every.”
“I’m heading back to the U.S within a couple of days… As for Xixi… I’m bringing her with me.”
“You’re bringing her with you? You sure that’s a good idea?” Qin Chu furrowed his brows, clearly surprised by Rick’s decision.
With Rick’s status, it was incredibly inconvenient for him to have a woman next to him at all times. Plus, with his endless amount of enemies, Xixi would only be his greatest weakness, a constant distraction.
“I don’t have any other choice… I’m seeing things more clearly now… If a person’s always afraid of everything, there’s no point in being alive, no chance at happiness. Why not take a risk?”
“That’s not a bad idea. Give it everything you’ve got.”
Rick: “More like leaving me without any other options.”
Qin Chu raised his gla.s.s. “Your Mandarin’s becoming better than mine.”
After they took a sip of their gla.s.ses of wine, Rick asked Qin Chu, “Did you tell Huo Mian about it yet?”
