And so, she thinks of plans. She disguises like a peasant maid; putting dirt to her face and arms, then she stole a crock of extracted blackberries inside this pot. After the holy ma.s.s, she walks toward those women she heard who gossip about her mother. Her anger has gone extreme when they approached Marivella and then insulted her clothes. But her mother just shrugs a shoulder, continued walking toward the exit door of that church, and completely ignoring the b.i.t.c.hes.
However, she will make sure to show those women made a huge mistake in their lives. She fakes a fall. Stumbles near them, the crock on her hand fell on the floor and splatter the liquid on the dresses to those nearby. They screamed.
They turned their anger at her, losses their social posture they prepared to hurt her... but Marivella came back and defend her. What she did not expect is Charles to be there also and help her, with this, she got to spend time with them.
She wanted to stay to be with her longer, and she wanted to talk with him more; two of the people she dearly loves. She's happy she got to talk to them, right here in the time she wasn't born yet to her first life. Something overwhelmed her heart.
Marivella gives birth to her and Charles, who he became her foster father, and became her boyfriend and soon to be her husband in her second life.
What kind of life does she have with Charles? Until now, she doesn't know their story: Carlene and Charles. She would be honest to admit that she desires to know this until she discovered that she could travel time. And her first travel is meeting the 15-year-old Carlene; her first life.
Fate is too playful for the rest of them. How if things turn out differently? How if her mother and father eloped and leave this place? What possibly happens? She's too intrigued if how things will turn out.
Is it worth changing what would happen in the past? Coming here could be something they must do? She is uncertain.
"Madison?"
Quinn calls out her name. He meets her halfway in the trail when he spotted Madison in the distance. She seems in deep thoughts.Â
Startled, she runs the small distance in between, then hugged Quinn. "Papa!"
"Glad, you are back safely. I began worrying about where have you been. Wait, did something happen?"
"I was able to talk to her, Papa!" happily, she told him.
"Oh. How was it?"
Madison parted from Quinn and then shared what happened awhile ago. Quinn checks up her hand. He holds it and clasps by both of his palms.
"So... this one she tended to?"
"Uh-huh," she replied cheerfully. "And she's too beautiful! And too amazing!" endless, she keeps praising Marivella.
It made Quinn chuckles, so he said, "You resemble a lot like her, you are both beautiful and amazing. Although she's way younger than you in our present time."
"Oh..." she blushed. "You are right, Papa."
"By now, in our present time, mama still young... but when she'll get age, she will be more beautiful! Oh, I forget to ask how old she was. Something 23 or 24? How old does she give birth to me? Now I cannot remember if the book mentions it... even yours, Papa."
They now arrived in the abandoned hut and Levi seated on the porch. He heard some of their conversations, and so he joined. "The chapter I read to you, brother Quinn… Isn't the time when Carlisle has his first voyage toward the New Found Land?"
"Hmm… that's right, Papa! Supposed to be your first voyage toward the British-French War. Now we call these countries like Canada and America."
These are the chapters she re-read before she travels time here. Carlisle met at a cemetery and that is their last meeting then Carlisle sail to Canada for the first time.
"But you were still here, Papa... Is something changes?"
"You were saying you saw the-me here with Marivella?"
"I saw you and Mama in the church, yes. Although not together, but why you're still here?"
He was still here. Quinn trying to figure out. If he supposed to be not here, then why? "You mentioned that I was there and your Mama. What happened?"
"I learned, people are gossiping about you and Mama. But she just ignored everyone who talking trashed at her. And when I went to avenge on her behalf, those women going to hurt me but Mama came back and saved me," she said.
"Charles came too, and those women shut up." The tears she held throughout the time she's with Marivella finally freed.
"Also, I could tell how you wanted to come closer to Mama to defend from the gossips and people who talk trash about her. But your family is blocking your way to get close to her."
Quinn pulls the back of her head and lets her cry on his shoulder. Patted her back, Quinn looked at Levi. There are a lot of things they wish to know about this past. For him, he is curious to know what happens the night Carlisle and Marivella got killed by their siblings: Klein to Carlisle and Isabella to Marivella.
Finally, Madison calmed down. "Thank you, Papa." she wipes her face then glances at Levi.
"Well, I am no match to a father-daughter thing," Levi chuckles, scratching his right temple. When it comes to the topic about Ca.s.sandra or Marivella, these two have the deepest connection to the case.
"So, I was there too, huh?" asked Levi.
Madison strides closer toward him. Putting her arm around his neck, she lovingly peered at his alluring blue eyes. Tightly, she hugs him.
"Hmm? What's the matter? Did me here do something to you?"
"How if, yes you are? You were naughty then and now."
"Eh? I am not! I behave!"
"Really? And how about the talks in the market?"
"Ah, like what I said earlier! That is only a strategy to get free food!" Levi tried to defend himself.
"Hmm..."
"That is true! And if I in this life misbehave at you, I will go and punch him!" he stated.
Madison giggles. She could imagine two Charles. It was like, Levi the reincarnated one punching himself in his first life.
How she could tell him? That he is actually amazing. Walking in and saves her from those women?
She feels like a Princess save by a Prince.
Being a damsel in distress once in a while is not so bad at all.
