Ken Chen stepped out of his black Mustang. When Kenneth's secretary reported to him that his boss still on a day off, he quickly makes this trip back to their old house here in the province region. Once Kenneth out of the city, he already knew what he had up to.
Quickly, he takes long strides towards the house. Though this place is like an ancient Korean Palace, the Chen generations maintain and keep the original structures most of the houses. May they transform the interior designs to modern settings, they keep the outer houses as the way its original appearances.
If we're not Dae-Hyun Chen's son who married the crown princess of the Joseon Dynasty, their family status would not boost high and their ancestors maintain their name.
However, there is a different story, and Kenneth would never forget about it.
Ken entered the house, and he spotted the shattered pieces of mirrors and broken gla.s.ses on the floor. He wandered his eyes and that huge TV screen on the wall had broken. But the news that displays on the screen remains. It was Ca.s.sandra and President Williams.
He already saw this photo. Taken during the dinner date of their cousin Ca.s.sandra with her fiancé. Did Kenneth throw a tantrum over it?
"What is this, Kenneth? Can you refrain yourself from destroying everything in the house?"
"Still, it is my fortune that bought them," he blurted out.
Ken heave a sighed. "Did you time travel again?" He does not need to ask him this. He already certain about it once he will come here.
Kenneth glances over his shoulder but does not answer him. Instead, he picks up another gla.s.s and pours some brandy. He brought the gla.s.s on his mouth then emptied the gla.s.s. "What brings you here? You did not just come here to scold me, aren't you?" Kenneth returned a question.
They knew each other very well. They weren't just a twin. They shared the same soul cut into the half when they were born once again.
"Yes. I am looking for you to discuss important matters, but seeing you like this?" Ken sighed once again. "I don't want to think you are loosing sane, Kenneth."
Ken s.h.i.+vers from Kenneth's dark scowls at him. He heaves a furious sighed this time. "Uncle Landon called me yesterday. He requested me to come to Paris."
Kenneth is now showing curiosity on his face. "Why?" he asked impatiently.
"I don't know. But Uncle Landon sounded troubled."
"Is something going on?"
"I don't know again. This is one thing I would like to investigate."
"He doesn't disagree anymore about Ca.s.sandra's marriage to Quinn Williams, so what is going on?"
Ken just shrugged a shoulder. "I will find it out, but I can't leave you being like this. If you keep acting this way, I would not leave you alone."
Kenneth sighed then glare at the wall where they hang the now broken TV screen. The part that has a huge cracked was part of Quinn Williams's face, which Ca.s.sandra's face stayed whole.
"Don't worry about me. I will go back to Seoul this evening and resume working. You should go to Paris and watch Quinn closely."
Ken is observing every movement Kenneth is doing. Something is not right about him. "Are you feeling unwell, Kenneth?"
This question is absolutely ridiculous. Ken's thought.
"I am fine. You should leave now," lazily, Kenneth instructed Ken.
But it does not convince Ken. He walked toward his twin brother and grabbed him by the left shoulder.
"Um..." Kenneth groaned.
"Where did you get your wounds?" shocked, he asked Kenneth.
"This is nothing."
"What are you saying that it's nothing? How come you will get this kind of wound if this is just an ordinary?"
"I said, this is nothing." Kenneth shrugs Ken's hand on his shoulder.
"Don't tell me you did something while you went traveling?"
"None of your business," Kenneth said coldly.
"Kenneth!" Ken stressed out. It troubled him even more. He knew Kenneth very well, and he knew that no matter what, he won't listen to him. "Can you stop for once?" he pleaded.
"Stop? Have you forgotten, huh? I won't stop until I kill him!"
"He is long dead!"
"I don't care!" Kenneth returned.
"Kenneth—" Ken wondered if what he better do. How could he console his twin brother from his hatred to the people that were long dead?
"I will never stop until I cannot kill Klein Williams!"
"Kenneth, why don't you just be happy for HwYoung? She died peacefully and even was happy."
Kenneth looks outside the window. "She should die happily and peacefully not because of him! You should never forget that!"
"I didn't. But look at you! I was just concerned about you doing this too often! And where did you get this wound? Don't tell me that our immortality is wearing off?" Ken asked curiously but worriedly as well.
Kenneth darkens his gaze toward the tree in the garden. It is the same tree where HwYoung and Irvine meet. Irvine Williams or Carlisle Williams from his first life. But Irvine is Klein's grandson. At present, they were Quinn Williams.
"I will repeat Kenneth. Where did you get this wound?"
He sighed before he replied to his twin brother's persistent. "Carlisle Williams."
"What? Did you travel back to the 17th century? Are you out of your mind?" Ken's voice is growing loud.
"I will kill him before he will kill us!" Kenneth yells at him, which only makes his wound throbs.
"You are getting ridiculous of your revenge! And what you will do in that time? Kill both Klein and Quinn?"
Kenneth smiled. "You were smart, I never forget that. Because you and I are one," he smirked. "So I need not explain anything to you." He then wears a serious expression.
Ken keeps his silence. He gave up. No matter what he will say now. Every word will just go to waste. "All right then... however, I won't stop nagging at you. Why are you wounded like this? What did you do at that time?"
"As I said, Carlisle Williams who give me this wound. However, this left me in great wonder."
"What is it?"
"When I tried to touch him, it electrified me."
"What does that mean?" Ken now intrigued.
"I don't understand either. I need to summon the dark Shaman to explain this to me."
"What are you planning now, Kenneth?"
"I just need to ask him why Carlisle could harm me, but I cannot harm him."
"Have you forgotten? It was Klein who killed him. So maybe this explains." Ken reminded him.
"I don't think so. There is vague here."
"Anyway, what exactly did you do at that time?"
It takes a long moment before Kenneth replied. "As I said, I just wanted to kill him. But I cannot harm Carlisle Williams. That is why I will seek the Dark Shamans guida—." It horrified him while witnessing what Ken did to himself. "What are you doing?"
It is too late. Ken already hurt himself. He picked up broken gla.s.s and then slashed his arm. However, it was only healed instantly. "Look, it heals quickly as usual."
"Then Carlisle is another case. If this is the situation. You can't kill him?"
Kenneth was in deep thoughts when his phone rang. He and Ken exchange gazes. Kenneth answered the phone then threw it on the wall after his talks to whoever on the other line.
"Who is it?" Ken asked curiously, although he had the idea.
"Those useless people!" he shouted.
