"I don't see any fracture or damage around her skull if her claims were true that she had into an accident before. Though, you, as her parents told me she never had an accident," Doctor Philip explanation.
"By now, she acted like a person who had experienced the accident as losing some memories. By now, she shows to have collective amnesia. It means she forgets important people and important events in her life."
He added. "For example, she cannot remember other people: such as her boyfriend or a friend. It could also be, that everyone she forgets except, but only remembering one person. Another case is, like what Miss Young behaving right now. She only remembers her parents and a few closes family members. However, as this case is not the line of my expertise, I cannot explain further. So, I will recommend Doctor Carol. I already talk to her, she will visit you tomorrow."
"Therefore, I have one concern, although Mr. Williams already declined to do so. But I require this to make sure one thing, so I will request your daughter to have a pregnancy test might the cause—" Doctor Philip was not able to finish when Landon suddenly stood up from the bench he seated with Hannah.
A great shocked registered on his face. "What the h.e.l.l? Why are you suggesting nonsense test Doctor?" He asked, then fixes his gaze darted toward Quinn and yells at him.
"Quinn Williams! What is the meaning of this?"
Recalling if when could these two did it, his head began running wild. Somehow, he watches his daughter closely since then. So it is impossible that happens. Aside from, he had the pride and ego as a strict father.
"Honey, can you lower your voice? Your daughter might hear you." Hannah scolded her husband.
Landon cannot stay calm at this moment. "But this guy!" he said.
"I am telling the truth, sir. I never sleep with your daughter like the one you were implying to. I respect her, and I won't break your trust in me by doing such things you're afraid to happen."
While they were arguing outside, a loud voice came from the room Ca.s.sie staying in. She is changing her clothes in the washroom. Since there is no problem with her health, they could go home tonight.
Rus.h.i.+ng to the room, Hannah knocking on the washroom door. "Honey, what happened? Are you okay?"
Later on, they heard a click of the locked, then Ca.s.sie open the door. Her face was too worried and flus.h.i.+ng red.
"Is something wrong, Ca.s.sandra?" asked Katherine.
But Ca.s.sie looks shy to share when there are men in the room. She is looking at them anxiously.
"I guess, men should get out." Lily gestured the men to go out. Landon is against this but steps outside.
"Now honey, tell me what happens?" Hannah asked while brus.h.i.+ng Ca.s.sie's hair.
"Mama, what happened to me?" she asked innocently.
" Huh?" Hannah lost.
"Why does— why do I have them?" Ca.s.sie holds both of her chests.
The women inside that room exchange glances. "What's wrong having them? We are girls, a woman. Normally we have them when—" Hannah remembers what Doctor Philip suggesting another test for her daughter. So she is thinking if how she should explain this to her daughter.
"Honey, is it taught already at your school why we girls have them, and the importance to us to support life?
Ca.s.sie gives a confused look to her mother, trying to remember her grade school lessons, but she can't remember anything that related to it.
"But Mama? I was just twelve, is it normal to have these big? And everything seems like—" she doesn't know how to explain the things that confuse her.
Hearing this, Hannah astounded at what Ca.s.sie told them. Twelve? Why does her daughter saying she was only twelve years old when she is turning eighteen soon?
"Honey, why are you telling us you were only twelve?" she asked her daughter. Hannah's chest throbbing and began to fear something.
"Mama? I remember we celebrated my 12th birthday when we got into the accident. Although I can't recall everything, I don't remember I grow up like this. What is happening to me?"
Hannah hugs her daughter, holding her tears from falling. Something is wrong here, like what Levi suspecting. She parted from Ca.s.sie and said, "I will talk to your Papa for us to go home, okay?"
"We will help her, auntie," Blaire offered a hand along with Riley and Loura. They also understand something is going on here.
The rest of the ladies went outside, instantly, Hannah burst out with tears the moment they step out. Lily and Katherine supported her body as she almost collapses on the floor.
"Honey? What happened?" Bewildered, Landon asked his wife. "Did something happen to our daughter?"
It was Karen who answered. "Uncle Landon, Ca.s.sie telling us she is only twelve years old. Now confused why she had the body of a grown-up teenager, moreover, she insisted the accident after her twelfth birthday. If she would behave like one then this is means?"
Levi and Quinn look at each other. It was similar to what the book says; the accident after Ca.s.sie celebrating her twelfth birthday. So then, it could be? Quinn makes a step backward and leans on the wall. This is not happening, he thought. He closes his eyes as his heart throbbing again. He doesn't know what to feel right now. Partly, he felt thrilled to know that she survives and is alive. He did pray that she stayed alive after he saved her.
However, where is the real Ca.s.sandra?
"Brother Quinn, could it be possible, that they switch bodies?" said Levi.
"What are you saying switch bodies, Levi?" Landon blurted out.
Before Levi could answer, Loura stepping out of the room and gestured to minimize their voices. "She is ready to go home now. We better to continue discussing this matter in the mansion behind a closed door."
"We better do," Karen seconded, glancing at her sister. They suspected that it relates this to the capability of their grandmother Isabella. She is the only one who could answer everything they wanted to know.
After everything settled down, a convoy leaves the clinic that night. It is late, and so they sent Ca.s.sie to her room where she wasn't familiar. Left outside the room she's staying, Quinn is in great devastation that Ca.s.sie is completely ignoring him because she doesn't recognize him.
He steps outside in the balcony and looks up in the gloomy night sky. It seems rain is about to fall.
"Ca.s.sandra, where are you?" his heart longing for the real one.
