After the end of the meeting, General Zhang seemed to have regained his vibrant aura. He was like a young man again as his pa.s.sion had been stimulated. Although the danger was about to knock on their door, they were not as scared because they were now united. Such a united Safety Zone could fall that easily.

"General, allow your brothers to rush in the front lines in your stead. You have to stay here and control the situation," said a man next to General Zhang. He was worried about the General as he was old and had already suffered grievous injuries back to Shenhai Island. Fortunately, he had been rescued in time, but a permanent dark wound was left on his body, which could not be healed.

After listening to the adjutant's words, General Zhang slowed down and said, "After experiencing this new and terrible world, I've been asking myself the same question. If I stay behind and witness my family members, as well my subordinates fight to the death, will I feel regretful? Of course, I will! Since this is the case, I decided to fight with everything I have. When I was young, I chose to enlist due to this reason. I have to fight alongside my comrades, or else, I'll feel regret and hate myself." His eyes turned firm and peaceful. "I'm old, but it's not an excuse to stop fighting. If I hid in every crisis, my life would be meaningless."

The man next to General Zhang stayed silent after hearing that. Then, he suddenly performed a solemn military salute and said, "I'm willing to live and die with Jiangning!"

"Has Han Yuan ordered you to select a survivors' team?" asked General Zhang.

"Yes, he has ordered me."

"Is that team still in the Safety Zone? If Han Yuan could persuade Jiang Lius.h.i.+, the task would get much easier," added General Zhang.

"Are you talking about the team you hold in high regard?" asked the man curiously. He had already heard General Zhang talking about that team several times.

"Since that's the case, shouldn't we invite them directly?" asked the man. 

The Huaxia Region and Jiangning Safety Zone welcomed capable survivors. Although many people complained, the Jiagning Safety Zone had been established. The biggest problem they met was survivors' teams that didn't obey the rules. However, after establis.h.i.+ng a special unit for survivors, part of the problem had been solved.

"I have invited him to join us, but he refused. It's a pity. Maybe, he will agree this time. After all, he also needs roots for the future," said General Zhang with a tinge of hope.

'If Jiang Lius.h.i.+ decides to bring his team here, things will get much better,' thought General Zhang. 

"Let's go back immediately. We should get our soldiers ready for deployment," said General Zhang.

As they were leaving, several people were staring at them. They were Han Yuan's subordinates.

"General Zhang is remarkable," said Han Yuan. "The Jiangning Safety Zone is quite lucky to have such a good general." General Zhang had even inspired Officer Huang and some other officials. 

However, after that, Han Yuan's expression changed. Then, he asked in a low voice, "What about that man…?"

"Zhang Haojing," replied a plain-looking woman immediately. She was wearing a pair of gla.s.ses with thick lenses, standing at the end all the time.

Han Yuan nodded to her and said softly, "Oh yes, I forgot. Thank you, Wan Yiling." 

"But this Zhang Haojing was killed last night," explained Han Yuan.

Bai Jiayan was shocked, but he didn't say anything.

"Actually, I didn't worry about this Zhang Haojing. I'm just quite interested as to why he was so scared. That's why I sent people to protect him. I just wanted to see whether what he worried about could happen or not," said Han Yuan.

If Zhang Haojing could hear his words, he would have coughed out blood. Han Yuan had protected him as a means to probe Jiang Lius.h.i.+.

"Facts speak louder than words. Neither the psychic paranormal next room nor the soldiers standing guard outside noticed anything. Can anyone of you accomplish such a feat?" asked Han Yuan.

In response, all of his subordinates shook their heads.

Wan Yiling pushed her gla.s.ses and said, "Since they accomplished getting in the hospital undetected, it means that they have an extremely powerful psychic paranormal." 

Han Yuan nodded. "Zhang Haojing had also mentioned that there was a very strong psychic paranormal in that team. It seems that the s.h.i.+ Ying Squad is as valuable as Zhang Haojing said."

"Bai Jiayan, you have seen them in action, so please give us all the details. Wan Yiling, you should write what he says down," ordered Han Yuan.

"Okay," replied Wan Yiling.

Jiang Lius.h.i.+ waited for a whole day in his room, but w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi had yet to contact him.

'I should go and find w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi,'  said Jiang Lius.h.i.+ to himself.

They had been to the Logistics Department, so Ying drove there quickly. As the Black Hole was approaching, the Logistics Department had become busier than usual.

"h.e.l.lo, I am looking for w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi," said Jiang Lius.h.i.+.

"w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi?" The officer looked at Jiang Lius.h.i.+ and was about to shake his head when the latter heard a familiar voice.

"Put it here. Right, those should all go over there." w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi was wearing her overalls and was struggling to help carry the clothes. One bag was more than one meter high, so she pushed them very hard to move.

"w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi?" Jiang Lius.h.i.+ followed the sound and saw her.

w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi was shocked and turned to look embarra.s.sedly.

"Jiang Lius.h.i.+, I'm sorry…I'm busy today, so I didn't have any chance to call you," said w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi apologetically.

"Why are you doing this?" asked Jiang Lius.h.i.+.

"There are not enough people," answered w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi, lowering her head.

"Ying, call Zhang Hai and Sun Kun to help," ordered Jiang Lius.h.i.+ directly. Then he took w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi to the side and asked, "How about the materials I need?"

w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi revealed a sly expression and said, "Yes, I have found all the materials you need, but…Officer Wan said that we can't sell any materials at such a critical moment. I discussed this matter with her for a long time, but it was useless. I don't have to power to decide." Actually, w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi was helping with the clothes as Wan Lan had ordered her to do so.

Initially, w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi did everything covertly, but in the end, Wan Lan still caught her.

"Wan Lan?" asked Jiang Lius.h.i.+.

He had been treating her like an annoying fly but never had he expected that she would keep standing in his way.

"Where is she?" asked Jiang Liusi.

w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi started worrying as Jiang Lius.h.i.+'s tone sounded eerily calm. She was quite familiar with Jiang Lius.h.i.+'s character. "Jiang Lius.h.i.+, Wan Lan is responsible for deciding everything in the Logistics Department. Even if you kill her, you won't get any materials without her permission. You should better think how to convince her to give you those materials," said w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi quickly. She could tell that Jiang Lius.h.i.+ hated Wan Lan.

Jiang Lius.h.i.+ turned silent after listening to her explanation. He agreed with w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi's reasonable argument.

"Don't worry. I will trade with her," said Jiang Lius.h.i.+.

"Really?" w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi asked cautiously.

Jiang Lius.h.i.+ found her reaction quite funny, and he asked, "Am I like a demon in your eyes?"

As w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi misunderstood Jiang Lius.h.i.+'s teasing, she explained, "To be frank, even though you may seem gentle, I'm indeed a little afraid of you. Only Yuxin felt that not only you're gentle but also excellent in every aspect."

"Really?" asked Jiang Lius.h.i.+ with a tinge of excitement. He didn't know that Yuxin praised him that way.

"Yeah, she was always saying this when we were in Shenhai Island. Why do you think she decided to join your team without hesitation? Yuxin told me that if she could go with you and do meaningful things, it would be extremely cool. She thought that traveling with you would be much better than living in the most secure Safety Zone," explained w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi.

Jiang Lisuhi was very surprised. He never expected that a quiet and shy girl like Li Yuxin could hold such a romantic dream in her heart. If he w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi hadn't told him, he could have never thought of it. 

w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi went to ask Wan Lan again, and after returning, she said: "She is busy and doesn't have time to see you."

Jiang Lius.h.i.+ had already expected such an outcome, so he didn't feel angry.

"Call her," said Jiang Lius.h.i.+.

"She also said that not to call her…she said she couldn't help someone like you…since you are familiar with General Zhang, you can ask him for help…" w.a.n.g s.h.i.+qi whispered.

She was worried that if Jiang Lius.h.i.+ were to get angry, he would drive his minibus through the building, demolis.h.i.+ng it!
