Chapter 565 - Curator’s Lecture

Chapter 565: Curator’s Lecture

Lin Jin’s main offensive attacks were his needle techniques and the fire edict.

However, it didn’t hurt to learn new skills. When he had the time, Lin Jin would choose one to practice, and it would become Curator’s ‘exclusive attack’. Otherwise, the next time he had to present himself as Curator, he wouldn’t have any attacks to use.

These were Lin Jin’s thoughts.

Although he wanted to depart immediately in search of the treasures Daojun hid around this world, his instinct told him to stay calm and to handle things one by one.

The banquet ended in success and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Taking advantage of his intoxication, Feng Junwu brought up his wish for Curator to host a lecture in Heavenly Spiral Academy at least once.

Both Shu Xiaolou and Zhong Zifeng immediately voiced their agreement with the suggestion. Zhong Zifeng could be reasoned with, but if Shu Xiaolou threw a tantrum, Lin Jin wouldn’t know how to handle her.

“A lecture?” Lin Jin contemplated before nodding.

Come to think of it, when he first came to Heavenly Spiral City, besides Master Gu who had first shown him around, Lin Jin didn’t know anyone else here.

But now, he had so many friends.

The academy lecturers had been very kind and friendly toward him and Lin Jin was friends with most of them. The academy’s students were satisfactory and respectful too. Lin Jin had gained so much from his time here, and if he were to name obvious benefits, that would be befriending Shu Xiaolou and recording all of the sample specimens inside the Beast Appraisal Pavilion. Just these two made Lin Jin feel as if he owed a great debt to them.

To hold a lecture as a way to show his appreciation shouldn’t be too big of a problem.

The topic of his lecture should be given more thought.

After all, Lin Jin was already one of the academy’s lecturers and his lectures had the reputation of providing raw information. If he were to give a lecture as ‘Curator’, his lecture should be one step higher than Lin Jin’s or he wouldn’t be able to live up to his reputation.

Lin Jin agreed to the suggestion and decided to host the public lecture tomorrow morning.

Lin Jin didn’t pay it too much mind. Since he was playing ‘Curator’ now, there were so many other things he had to pay attention to. The main goal, of course, was to avoid exposing himself.

What surprised him was that the next morning, Zhong Zifeng arrived early in the morning to inform him that the lecture venue had been changed.

“That’s alright. Anywhere is fine.” Lin Jin didn’t mind it. Out of curiosity, he asked Zhong Zifeng, “Why did the venue change?”

“There are too many people!” answered Zhong Zifeng honestly.

Indeed, too many people had signed up for this lecture.

Lin Jin couldn’t help but gasp when he arrived at the scene.

That huge battle yesterday was now known throughout the city. After all, that sun-shielding death cloud had been hovering over their heads. Those who weren’t courageous enough wetted themselves when they were greeted with such a grim sight.

Curator’s name began to spread like wildfire after the incident.

After all, the enemy announced that their target was Curator the moment they arrived at the city.

When the enemy retreated, many people attributed the victory to Curator’s participation in the battle.

With this, legends about Curator began to take hold in this world.

Those who dealt with Heavenly Spiral Academy noticed how respectful their top-class lecturers were when they interacted with Curator. It was clear that they treated him with reverence. One of the academy’s Rank 4 lecturers was even Curator’s disciple.

News of Curator’s public lecture immediately caused a commotion in Heavenly Spiral City. Students from poor parts of town wanted to sit in too, but they were turned down mercilessly.

Only a select few of the city’s aristocrats managed to reserve a seat for themselves.

Due to the sheer number of participants, the academy had decided to host the lecture at a plaza. It was a venue that was large enough to hold thousands of people.

Students of the academy poured into the plaza. Even lecturers and their assistants were attending the lecture as listeners. After all, even Shu Xiaolou and Zhong Zifeng were attending, so how could they stay away?

The Emperor of Heavenly Spiral Kingdom, Feng Junwu came as well. He was here to give Curator face. After all, he was a premium country’s emperor, boasting a dignified status.

Since Feng Junwu was here, his royal descendants would never stay behind at the palace.

Hence, a large spot was occupied by the royal family.

Among them, Feng Ziqian was most satisfied.

‘As expected of Curator. This is such a grand event. Even Father is deeply convinced by Curator’s abilities. Looks like I’m in luck,’ thought Feng Ziqian gleefully.

By lucky, he meant becoming one of the Visitation Hall’s visitors.

There was a saying that the pavilion closest to the waterfront would get to see the moon first. Every week, Feng Ziqian would have the opportunity to meet and seek guidance from Curator. In the past, he hadn’t thought too much of it, but now, it seemed like a grand privilege to him.

Ever since gaining Curator’s ‘support’, Feng Ziqian who had been the least regarded among the three princes now became the most eligible candidate to ascend the throne. With each passing day, he grew closer to Princess Ruo Li from Thousand Island Country. If all went according to plan, they should be able to pick out a day for their marriage soon.

That would come as an added advantage.

Thousand Island Country was also a premium nation so they would surely think of a way to help Feng Ziqian obtain Heavenly Spiral’s throne.

Although it was Appraiser Lin who helped him out in this, if they traced it back to the source, it was still Curator’s influence that made it possible.

Lin Jin was startled by the turnout when he arrived. Though, since he was wearing a mask, no one could read his expression no matter how he reacted.

Lin Jin thought perhaps Daojun had worn a mask back then for the same reason.

He even knew that ‘Daojun’ had only been an extra identity. Just like him, the other transmigrator couldn’t have lived all his life with a mask on so he must have had a more ‘human’ side as well.

This was the case for Lin Jin. He was Lin Jin, but from time to time, he could also be Curator.

In this world, only Lin Jin knew this. It was too big of a secret and that was recorded only in Daojun’s Hieroglyphic. It was also for this reason that after Lin Jin finished reading Daojun’s Hieroglyphic, he noticed the parallels between Curator and Daojun.

Not only did they come from the same place but their experiences had also been similar.

Lin Jin pushed away these complicated thoughts in his mind.

Right now, he was to focus on the lecture. Due to the size of his audience, Lin Jin had to present them with genuinely helpful information.

Otherwise, he would be tainting Curator’s reputation.

Hence, Lin Jin gave a spectacular lecture. He began with something easier to understand before going in-depth about the study of pet beasts, the quality of spells, and various cultivation methods.

His audience were all learned individuals so they could understand how significant the things he spoke about were. Some students failed to understand certain parts but the assistant lecturers and lecturers were deeply engrossed in the lesson.

The lecture exceeded four hours with no one ever leaving the venue midway. No one spoke either. Besides the breeze whistling next to their ears, only Curator’s voice could be heard in the plaza.

After Lin Jin concluded the lecture, he saluted them all before leaving on a cloud. Many were still dazed when he left; most were busy digesting the information he shared in the lecture.

When they finally snapped out of their reverie, Curator was already long gone.
