Mrs. Gu nodded with a smile. Then she sat down next to Gu Yunhe composedly.

“It is just a matter of wine selling, what a minor matter! Yunhe, you made the correct promise. You are the Young Master of our rising family, and you will have to do something convincing so that the folk in the capital can get some idea of who you are. You were right to have offered help for Restaurant Jixian, which is owned by the Elder Princess.”

“So we give up when Gu Chaoyan doesn’t approve?” Mrs. Gu snorted. “It is her business whether she approves or not, but it is our business to make Restaurant Jixian able to sell the wine again.”

He had fixed his problem and he could not wait to go to deal with it.

“Mom, I will go to Restaurant Jixian now.” Gu Yunhe said with excitement.

“Hang on.” Mrs. Gu shouted. “You can go to Restaurant Jixian, but we need some feedback for what we are doing for that restaurant today! The Elder Princess owns Restaurant Jixian, so you can just send someone to deal with what is going on at Restaurant Jixian whilst you go to visit the Elder Princess instead. You can’t just go there yourself, it is demeaning your own social status!” Mrs. Gu reminded him.

Mrs. Gu looked about and made sure that no one was within sight, then she continued. “County Princess Anxi from the Elder Princess’ Mansion is not yet engaged. I heard that the Elder Princess’ husband pa.s.sed away ages ago, and she has little power in her hands. But she is, after all, the Elder Princess. So if you can marry County Princess Anxi, things would go in your direction. Honestly, the Elder Princess has the Empress Dowager behind her. So, if you can get involved with a member of the imperial family… everything will become great.”

Hearing what his mother said, Gu Yunhe agreed
