Chapter 441: No Strange Phenomenon
Seeing Zhou Huailing approaching her, Gu Ruxue got a bit cheerful inwardly – it seemed that the Lord believed what she said.
As long as the Lord did not mind what happened, she was confident enough to become the most important person in Lord Ling’s heart and replaced the present Princess Consort. Although she was the Equal Princess Consort at the moment, she knew that she was not in the same status as the real Princess Consort at all.
Gu Ruxue had been so busy thinking about all of these, that she failed to notice what Lord Ling was doing.
When she sensed the pain, the blood already dropped out of her hand. Gu Ruxue shouted in pain, “Lord!”
“Hush!” Zhou Huailing suggested that Gu Ruxue should stay quiet. “It is just a small wound, it is fine.”
Gu Ruxue might be a lady from a minor Gu Mansion, but she had never got injured throughout her entire life. Now she was wounded and she could not stand it any more. So she had to shout loudly, “Ming!”
Hearing the noise, Ming pushed the door open and walked in.
Zhou Huailing got even more furious seeing someone entering without his permission, he tossed the thing in his hand at her and shouted, “Get out of here.”
Ming got so startled that she left directly.
Gu Ruxue realized that the Lord was very angry.
Gu Ruxue was the only woman in the whole mansion that did not have any manners. Of course he was so angry.
“Sorry Lord, it is my fault.” Gu Ruxue now realized that she was in the mansion, not in the Gu Mansion where she could do whatever she wanted.
“You can get up now.” Zhou Huailing said emotionlessly.
He did not take care of Gu Ruxue’s wound. Instead, he came to the window.
Gu Ruxue did not dare to complain about the wound, but followed him instead. Now she realized what happened. She knew what Lord was up to.
According to what she heard about the Phoenix Girl, she was the girl that got wounded by the fruit blade when the strangeness happened and when all the monsters were spinning over the sky.
That was how the Lord confirmed her identity as the Phoenix Girl – she was bleeding then. So the Lord would like to confirm once again.
Gu Ruxue was very confident about herself.
She believed that she was the Phoenix Girl – she was the prettiest and she should be the Phoenix Girl
So Gu Ruxue was standing by the window with the Lord with a smile.
They were both waiting for the strange phenomenon to happen.
If that happened, she would definitely become the real Princess Consort. She was the Phoenix Girl, and she deserved the best.
A quarter hour passed, yet nothing was happening in the sky.
Zhou Huailing frowned slightly. Gu Ruxue found it strange too – something should have happened. On the day when the birds and monsters arrived, it happened quite fast.
Could it be because she had not bled enough?
Tolerating the pain, Gu Ruxue pinched her hands, squeezing out the blood as much as she could. Her face went extremely pale, but nothing was happening at all.
She was panicking inwardly.
She craned out of the window and saw nothing happening at all.
Zhou Huailing got annoyed too – why was nothing happening? He had been sure that the girl should be Gu Ruxue, and what he did now was just to make himself feel happier. So what was going on?
Zhou Huailing looked at Gu Ruxue’s face... Could she not be the Phoenix Girl after all?!
