When Mu Chang came back from work, the sky was already dark. He had to overwork today due to an emergency at work. He frowned when he saw the house was dark. Why, isn't she back and where is the cook? Mu Chang frowned deepened when he entered the house. He then remembers that Ru s.h.i.+ was afraid of the dark so why are the lights off in the house.

"Ru s.h.i.+...." Mu Chang called out but no one answered. When he went upstairs he saw a note on the bed.

"Dear boyfriend, follow the rose petals to find me. Don't get lost!" Mu Chang raised his brows when he saw the note. 'What rose petals?' He turned on his phone torch as he searched the house. When he reached the path to the attic he saw that there was a trail of rose petals on the ground.

He followed it when he reached the attic, he saw the place was dark and there was n.o.body there. 'Is this a prank?' Just as he turned around to leave he heard someone giggling, When Mu Chang turned around he saw a video was now playing on the wall with a love song in the background.

It was when he went to the amus.e.m.e.nt park with Ru s.h.i.+. He smiled faintly as he remembered that day. It was their first official date. His gaze softened when he saw the woman laughing in the video. She looked so carefree at that time.

"Mu Chang smile, don't be too stiff!" Ru s.h.i.+'s voice sounded in the video. Mu Chang folded his arms as he watched the video with interest. He wonders what she is up to? Suddenly after the video ended, Ru s.h.i.+ appeared on the screen she was sitting down in front of the camera as she cleared her throat.

She blinked a few times as if she was contemplating what to say. "Happy birthday Mu Chang. I hope you liked the video. I just wanna say a few words since is your birthday, I hope you don't get too emotional." Ru s.h.i.+ said as she chuckled.

Her expression turned serious as she speaks, "I never knew I would meet you and fall in love so fast..but you came into my life and changed my life around. You completely took all the tiny pieces from my broken heart and put it back together. 

You have taught me that love isn't so bad after all. You made me forget that I even had my heart broken before.

You don't have a clue how much I need you. You think I am a strong woman, but the truth is, I'm not. When I met you, someone who was equally as guarded, and by some magical force, you changed that. You easily made me take down all the walls I had built around me that I stubbornly tried to keep. We were two lost people afraid of falling in love, afraid of the damage it would cause us but somehow we gave each other a chance. With your love and support, I don't have to act tough when I'm with you. I can act like the spoiled princess that I once was. 

We may have gone through a lot of things at the beginning but real love consists of imperfections and constant ups and downs. 

We need that fighting to know that we have something to fight for.

Being with you feels like home and I never knew that I could love more than I already do. What I mean by that is every day my love grows more for you. How did I get so lucky to be loved by you? Maybe is my parents' well wishes that made me meet you." Ru s.h.i.+ said as she smiled.

"I don't want to say I can't live without you because I guess I could, but, I don't want to live without you, I wanna stay with you until we are grey and old. I'm selfish, I know but I don't want to be a mother unless I can have you next to me being our children's father, I wonder how they will look like probably beautiful like me." Ru s.h.i.+ grinned as she said.

"I don't want to create a home unless I could have you to come home to, I hope our love can last throughout our life.

I know you're already rich and can afford anything but my gift for you is me. I wanted to wrap myself in a box for you but that would be—" Ru s.h.i.+ burst out laughing as if she could see Mu Chang's expression at the moment. Mu Chang also smiled, he shook his head slightly. 'This woman..' Mu Chang thought.

"Are you touched? You have found yourself such a nice girlfriend who loves you endlessly like me and is even offering herself as your birthday gift." Ru s.h.i.+ sighed. "You are very lucky!" Ru s.h.i.+ kept quiet for a minute before speaking, "actually I have been searching for the right words to explain how I feel and my deepest thoughts. I hope I did well and you can feel how much I love you.

I'm beyond lucky to have you in my life. I know I'm not the most affectionate person and I'm thankful you love me despite that, but you need to know that I love you so much.

I hope when you see this you won't be terrified at the prospect. You'd smile and say I love you too. Thank you, Mu Chang, and happy birthday."

After that, the video ended and the light suddenly came on. Mu Chang blinked to adjust to the sudden light. Suddenly he heard Ru s.h.i.+'s sweet voice behind him

"Were you looking for me?"

Mu Chang turned leisurely and there she was. Standing in front of her was the most beautiful girl in his eyes now. She wore a simple white dress with a gold braided belt. Her hair was long, wavy, falling brilliantly over her chest. It seems she went to the salon and changed her hairstyle. Her face was milky white, with dazzling eyes and kissable cherry lips.

She looked stunningly gorgeous, like a G.o.ddess from above. She smiled sweetly at him, her eyes sparkling with love. Mu Chang's heart skipped a beat as he swallowed. He then smiled at her.

He said nothing as he stared at her. Ru s.h.i.+ tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and bit her bottom lip. 'This woman....she has no idea the effect she has on him'. "Why are you looking at me like that?" Mu Chang continued to stare at her. Even though he didn't like celebrating his birthday, he had to admit this is the best birthday.

He got to celebrate it alone with the woman he loves. There was no big party where he will meet hypocrites trying to get favor with him by saying flattering words. He got to hear a confession from the woman he loves and she even offered herself as a gift.

Mu Chang walked towards her and before Ru s.h.i.+ could react, he pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly. "Thank you."
