Chapter 3606 Death of the Leaders II
"The battle isn't over; kill all the natives to take revenge for Ukrs death!" roared the ma.s.sive Apeman and moved toward our leader, at earth-shaking momentum.
The Grimms cheered and moved toward the enemy, but their enthusiasm seemed lacking. Still, it is surprising they are holding on; in most cases, the Grimms run away, as their leader dies.
There are multiple reasons for that, first Apeman quickly took command after the death and second, the Grimms still have large numbers, despite our edge.
CLANNNG!
I defended against another attack and moved forward with a grin. It seemed to understand what I was planning to do as it shook, but to my surprise, didn't retreat, instead harnessed everything it had.
"DIE!" It roared top of its lungs, harnessing a surprising amount of power from its bloodline for its last stand.
Its sword moved so fast that it appeared in front of me in an instant and I could see the joy lit up in its eyes, before suddenly that turned to horror, when it saw its sword slowing down.
Puch!
I avoided it easily and appeared in front of it, before piercing my sword into its chest, while it watched in unwillingness.
The strings, once bound by the strings, make the killing rather easy.
I nodded at the horned native fighting against Purple Scale Lizardman and moved toward the next target. He would be able to handle the Grimm just fine; he had already injured it heavily and if everything went well, kill it in a minute or two.
"Limit," I said six and half minutes later; there was a joy in my voice, but also a little bit of sadness.
Now, my ever-increasing strength will stop increasing. Even the strengthening essences in my body started to recede into the core, except for the one I had stored and mixed with that healing energy.
I have started releasing it into my body, in an amount, that is an on the boundary of being enough. My body wants more; it is craving for more and this craving is so powerful, that I had nearly given up, but was able to quickly focus on a very powerful enemy coming toward me.
A Peak Earth-Sovereign with inheritance. I have killed tens of them in the battle, but it is unlike any of them.
It is powerful as the Tigerman I had fought not long ago and unlike it; it wasn't in the mood to play around.
"You seemed to be enjoying the battlefield a lot," said Blood Eyed Bearman as it stopped nearly four hundred meters away from me, with its powerful soul energies scanning over its body.
"Not particularly, but need to do it, since you people blocking the gate," I replied with a shrug.
It grinned upon hearing that.
Hun!
"Because we want to bury it, you all here," it replied and a moment later, it appeared in front of me, crossing hundreds of meters and in the blink of an eye, before swinging that staff at me, with its full power.
Even with increased power, I was barely able to take my sword to defend against the most powerful attack I had faced on the battlefield.
I was scared to face the attack and knew it would wreck me; predicting that I increased the volume of healing energy.
CLANNNNNG!
The staff came with the force of the world and the moment it hit me; it broke my bones, split my skin, tore my internal organs, and sent me back, with a force of a meteor.
It was powerful and if it had attacked me when Tigerman attacked and used such power, it would have been able to blast me into pieces.
Now I am stronger, but still, a single attack was enough to heavily injure me, making me incapable of harnessing my true power.
The moment later, my bones started to mend, split skin began to close and internal organs started to heal at incredible speed. I had absorbed the strengthening essence of Tigerman into the formation and it had been a wise decision.
I looked at it and saw it staring at me, without moving.
I could see the conflict in its eyes. It wanted to come at me and launch another attack to finish me off, while at the same time scared of the invisible attack that killed so many of them.
"Come, I promise, I won't bite," I said to it and could see the raging anger appearing in its eyes, but it controlled it and did something surprising.
It is retreating after giving me a nasty look.
By the time I was able to stop myself; it started to fight against the native, who is far more powerful than me.
I sighed in regret, seeing that.
It is a powerful Grimm, and I wanted to kill it. It didn't have a bloodline, but it had the reward of the six challenges of the temple; I would like to get my hands on them.
I shook my head and moved toward the next target.
Over twenty minutes pa.s.sed, and I killed more Grimms, with half of them with bloodline. Even though I have reached the limit; I am still targeting them.
They are the best fertilizers ever.
However, the zeal with which I have been targeting them has lessened a little and now, I am focusing more on people who survived the temple. Especially the ones who have reached six the level.
As for those who had reached the seventh level; I wish I could target them.
Each one of those b.a.s.t.a.r.ds is powerful. There are only those who are weaker than me and I would have loved to target them, but all of them had a strong soul sense attached to them.
The string of souls sent belongs to Sky Sovereign.
It is not just them who had a string of soul sense attached to them, but it is also attached to me.
That doesn't mean they couldn't be targeted. They could and I might succeed, since all the Grimms are busy fighting and wouldn't be able to come to rescue on time, but it will make me.
I have become quite noticeable, and I don't want to become more noticeable by killing those important ones.
The Sky Sovereigns would need a single attack to finish me off and it wouldn't need to be a close-range attack; a long-range one would be more than enough to deal with me.
A few more minutes pa.s.sed, and I continued killing.
I even got an enemy as powerful as Tigerman and this one also had a bloodline, but like Tigerman, it moved away after launching several long attacks.
They were powerful, but with strong s.h.i.+elds; I wouldn't have to worry about defending against them. It left after launching a few hundred attacks.
It didn't launch even a single close-range attack.
I killed another Grimm that was on the way and moved toward my target when I suddenly stopped.
The second leader of the Grimms died; it was decapitated.
Its death brought the battlefield to skid.
All the Sky Sovereigns stopped fighting and now just looking at each other, while we Earth Sovereigns down below, watched with bated breaths, because now anything could happen.
