Chapter 3542 Broken Doors
"It is quite hidden," I said as I pa.s.sed through another layer of corruption that sprang for miles.
If one didn't map this place with directions to reach here, I wouldn't have been able to reach here, even if I knew the general direction of this place.
It had been eight days since I had come to this pale city, and this would be my last destination here. I have got nearly everything I had wanted and after exploring this place, I would get out of here.
With that thought, I moved toward the place, but stopped a few seconds later.
Hun!
I sensed the Grimm; this place might be hidden, but there were Grimms and natives coming here; I had seen a couple of them coming here and some I had killed.
This one is High-Earth Sovereign; one with the bloodline.
I had grown quite powerful since coming here, but not powerful enough to fight openly against it. Soon, I will be and till then, I will need to keep the patience.
The Grimm was barely a mile away from me, but it didn't seem to sense me.
The corruption here had anti-sensory properties; the soul sense is heavily suppressed, and that is a boon to someone like me. Here, I could send my soul sense further than most people.
It is quite unfortunate that I didn't have enough strings to bind my enemies from a long distance.
I shook my head and moved toward the ma.s.sive disc in front of me.
There is a huge standing disc in front of me; it is a forty-floor building. According to the information, this used to be the residence of an important member of the organization.
It is white in color, which had faded after thousands of years and there are several cracks running on it; making it look like, it could crack apart at any time.
It wouldn't, at least not now; since the last time, there was barely any change in the cracks.
Soon, I had reached it, but not the door; that would be too risky. Some people might be watching it, and some people might be even waiting; it would be better to enter through other ways.
It is what I am doing; I am entering through it from one of the cracks. Through one of the small cracks, there are a few of them at the base.
This one I had chosen because it will quickly take me to the place; I want to go.
Hun!
I entered inside and immediately felt the denser, omnium curse energy here. People have died in this place, and I could even feel their emotions, which had become part of this curse energy.
They are only faint, but I felt like; it wouldn't be wise to stay in such emotions for a long time.
The Grimms didn't mention anything about it, likely because they are unaffected by it. Not because they have a stronger mind than us, but because they are heartless beings, such things didn't affect them.
Well, I should be able to finish in time, but I will come out, even if I don't. I didn't want this emotional toll when I was so close to my breakthrough.
The map appeared in front of me, and I began to move through the huge hallway. Avoiding the broken formations; there are a lot of them.
Around me are my strings, they are picking up anything that is useful. From pieces of tiles to the gra.s.s in the corner and many other things; there are many useful things that are lying around here.
This place had been visited only once before and there are not many Grimms, who have visited it.
So, it is not surprising.
Hun!
A few minutes pa.s.sed, and I suddenly stopped. There is a native there, two of them; I stopped and let them move away, before resuming walking.
I have become quite cautious about the natives. I didn't approach them unless I really had and even then; I am quite careful.
Half an hour and avoiding one Grimms later, I reached the first door I wanted.
"Well, I hadn't expected it," I said, looking at the broken door. The door is in a bad state, and it is clear, that someone had done magic on it a long time ago.
The information said, the door was in perfect condition, but it wasn't and it's not like I am surprised. I had seen the few doors in such a state; someone had used their raw power to blast these doors apart.
More than half of them are like that.
To do something like that, they would have needed to be a Peak Sky-Sovereign. Unfortunately, someone had raided through the floor.
Though not all the doors have been broken; there are some in perfectly fine condition, but I have no interest in them and they do not have anything useful to me.
I shook my head and walked to the second floor and found many doors had broken there.
Seeing them, my mood couldn't help, but worse.
I had come here, thinking; I am coming to this secluded s.p.a.ce, where there was everything that had remained untouched but mostly touched and robbed.
The only thing I am finding is a rubble. Though in there, I found quite a few precious things, but still, I was frustrated and angry and this frustration continued to grow as climbed higher in the building.
I reached the thirty-second floor and flew through the crack on the other side when suddenly, my eyes lit up.
"Finally," I said when I saw the door in a perfectly good state.
This is the first door on my list that hasn't been broken and seeing it, I couldn't feel happy. I am on the last floor, and I don't want to return empty-handed.
This floor has three doors, that I wanted to open the most. This one is one of them.
So, I looked around and activated the few methods, before placing my hands above the door and releasing the faint wave.
A few seconds later, the wave came back with the formation.
I looked at the formation before walking toward the next door to it and entering inside. It was a grand suit; that the person used to place his guests in; it was all empty, and not even the smallest furniture had remained.
I picked up the hidden corner and placed the surrounding formation before closing my eyes.
A moment later, I appeared at my core on the second continent, where two of my clones had already started to work on the formation.
I joined it immediately.
I usually hand over this work to my clones in the library, but they are busy with inheritance. They are nearly completion in a day or two, they will have an inheritance ready.
I don't want to disturb them.
So, I took the artificer clone from his work to help me crack the formation. I could have asked the alchemy clone too, but it was busy working on something delicate and couldn't pause.
Three hours and eleven minutes later, I opened my eyes with a smile on my face. I did it quicker than I had imagined.
