Chapter 3435 Last Day I
"Is this the final list?" asked the man, to the woman sitting in a final chair. "Yes," replied the woman.
"I am not seeing that name here?" he asked, and the woman sighed.
"The name is rejected," she replied, hearing that, confusion couldn't help but appear on the man's face.
The people who clear the maximum number of challenges and test from the prime are always selected. He had met with that young man and one of the people who recommended his name.
It could be said, among all people. He had the highest chance of being accepted by us.
"Were you able to find any incriminating details about him, my lady?" the man asked that woman, just shook her head, which increased his confusion even further.
The woman is a supreme authority here. She could accept anyone she wants, within a reason.
"Then why?" the man pressed.
For a couple of seconds, there was no answer, and the woman didn't want to answer, but seeing a genuine question on the man's face, she decided to answer.
"He is specifically rejected," she replied.
For a moment, the confusion increased even further, before suddenly, his eyes widened up as he understood the reason behind it.
"I understand," the man said, and forget about it.
The rejection comes from the realm, and the realm doesn't interfere with the selection process. He never heard the realm rejecting anyone from the final list, but they did this time.
It is beyond his level. It has come from above.
I woke up at exactly five, taking four hours of sleep. For most of the past month, I didn't sleep more than three hours.
Today is the last day, and also the day we will leave this wonderful place. I couldn't help but feel sad at those thoughts.
I pushed my sad thoughts away and focused on what I had to do today. There are many things I must do today. Look at the store, take part in the auction and if I had some time, I would even check out the library.
One thing I am not going to do is attend the selection ceremony.
It will be attended by most people and since I have decided to remain independent; I won't be attending it.
I got out of bed and freshened up, before taking out a breakfast that my clone and cooked and eating it.
After breakfast, I walked out of my small studio apartment and went to the garden. Where there are a lot more people than I would usually see.
It took me a few minutes to find a bench and sat down, before unlocking the tablet and clicking on the icon of the store.
Hun!
What I saw there shocked me; I was genuinely shocked by the business I had done in the night.
I have done as much as I had done in the best week.
I had checked it last night before sleeping and knew the sales might increase, but didn't expect it would increase to such a degree.
It is really hard to believe.
I had dumped nearly everything I don't need or won't need in the future in the store. That includes the things from the thousands of cards I have received from the recruiters.
Many of those things have been sold.
Those things are precious, and many people would want them, and I am glad.
I looked at the huge list of things I have sold and the things I have got in exchange. The more I looked, the happier I would become; I have got some good things.
I looked at everything, before moving to the offers.
There are thousands of them, and I moved fast to accept and reject them. Still, it took me more than an hour before I finished.
I will check the store once more time at five, an hour before it closes forever.
Seeing the auction will start at nine; I decided to visit the library. It is ma.s.sive. It is the second biggest library I have ever seen.
The first one is the Hermes library, which is absolutely huge and each floor of it seemed to become bigger, instead of getting smaller as it looked from outside.
Soon, I reached the library and went to the section realms.
The Hermes library is old and while it contains ma.s.sive knowledge. It is not well updated with time.
I would try to feel it with as much as books of the latest knowledge as possible, but what I am adding is not even a drop in the lake.
Still, I am doing it, and it is the only way I will be able to add ma.s.sive books to the library.
They will be registered in my name.
Now and then, I would find a book that was placed there by the previous librarian. I get informed the moment I take out books, added by them.
"Ramon?" I heard a familiar voice and turned to Keva, beside her Abrill.
I haven't seen them in a month.
"Keva, Abril; it is nice to see you again," I said to them; to which they smiled.
"The selection will start soon, aren't you coming?" she asked, to which I shook my head, and it surprised them.
"If the past data is to be believed. You have a high chance of being selected by them," said Abrill.
"I like my independence," I said to them.
Abrill opened his mouth, but Keva gently placed her hand on his shoulder, and she sighed.
"I wish we had the same conviction as you. We are going to accept if any realm gives us the offer," he said, and his eyes turned dreamy for a moment.
They are not interested in joining any organization, no matter how powerful it is. Though the realm is a completely different cup of tea; they are willing to accept any realm that gives them an offer.
It is a wise choice; the realm is on a completely different level.
Once they joined with their talent, reaching a prime wouldn't be a problem for them. Without it, it would be a huge challenge.
I get a feeling they are willing to join the realm, less for power and more for stability.
They have been together for centuries and now want to settle down.
"The realm will be lucky to take you two," I said to them. "We think so too," said Keva with a big smile.
"Goodbye Ramon; I hope we will meet once again someday," said Abril and did something surprising.
He touched his head and a completely different dwarf appeared in his place, belonging to the same race, but looking completely different.
Keva did the same, and she was even prettier than she was with a mask.
I thought for a moment and touched the mask. My real face and body appeared for a moment before disappearing.
They waved as they left, and I waved back till they disappeared.
I took out the tab; there were ten minutes till the action started and I had to buy many things, but it would be a challenge.
Seeing the ma.s.sive number of people going to partic.i.p.ate and compete for a round of a thousand unique things.
