Chapter 2615: Clash Of Grand Lords II
'The power of the Grand Lord is on a completely different level,' I thought as I looked at the last of giant scaly hands seeping inside the liquid mirror.
The Grimm Grand Lord tried to avoid it, but the liquid mirrors were still able to engulf those hands. It is not just those mirrors; the mirror which had been protecting me against the hand had also turned its state from solid to liquid and engulfed the whole hand.
The power Lady Vivian had shown in her defense is shocking; such an attack would have leveled the hundreds of miles around us, and shockwaves of it would have been enough to vaporize the Grandmasters and injure us Grandmasters, but Lady Vivian neutralized it without a single harmful fluctuation.
It seemed like one could not measure her in a normal definition; those who had comprehended the grand arts are in a completely different league.
"It seemed like the old lord of Gla.s.s had found a worthy successor in you," said the Grimm Grand Lord with a light smile hanging on its face, "But if you think this much of power is going to save you from me, then you are grossly mistaken human," it said, and powerful aura blasted off its body.
The aura is powerful that it begins to send huge ripples across s.p.a.ce.
It is a good thing the Grandmasters have moved away from their places, or they wouldn't have been able to survive those ripples.
I also began to move away, and thankfully, the Grimms Grand Lord made no move against me; it would if I tried to run away from the battlefield.
Still, it is not the only danger I have.
While most of the High Grandmasters are avoiding me, there are three who are looking at me with deep killing intent. Two of them had even tried to come at me a few minutes ago, but the Grand Commander stopped them before they could move even meters.
I couldn't help but pity those two; ever since the Star Crockman and the Grand Commander revealed their power at quasi Grand Lords, those two are sitting ducks.
They could not partic.i.p.ate in the battle of Grand Commander and the Star Crockman; it had reached above their grade, but they could not also move to join the other battles, or the Grand Commander might kill them. The only reason they are alive is that the Star Crockman is protecting them.
I did not dare to let my guard down; I am still burning my essence at the lowest level.
Every second I am losing a precious essence doing that, but I have no choice because once I stop, I will be in a weakened state, and I can't afford that. I had to bear it for a while; once I had got the strengthening essence, I could turn it off.
There are two reasons I had taken such a huge risk of binding the Ratman, despite knowing the risk of being found out by the Grand Lord.
First is, of course, for the essence; I knew there are high chances I would need to burn my essence to defeat the Apeman, and to recover from it, I would need a strengthening essence, as I could not afford to not be in my best in a place like this.
The second reason is bigger than it; I would need its help to harvest the Apeman with core; I have never harvested the Grimm with core, and I did not have confidence that I could do it before the Grimm killed itself.
The runes have already begun harvesting, and I am already shocked at the sheer amount of essence that the Apeman have. It is utterly shocking that I begin to curse my luck, that the Grimm b.a.s.t.a.r.ds hadn't sent the one Bloodline core and instead sent this b.a.s.t.a.r.d with Inheritance core.
Aside from precious data and extremly powerful essence rose, it wouldn't offer me anything. If it had been Bloodline core, it would be able to give the colossal amount of purified bloodline energy, which had been transformed into a colossal amount of strengthening energy.
A single such Grimm Monster would have been enough to not only refill my essence but also take me to the level of Grand Master Redhorn.
At that level, I wouldn't have feared the two Grimms that Grand Commander is holding back; a single s.h.i.+eld of mine would have been more than enough to defend against the two of them. If they attacked me now, I don't know whether my s.h.i.+elds would be able to hold down their a.s.sault.
BOOOOM BOOOOM BOOOOM
"f.u.c.k!"
I cursed as the shockwave hit me and sent me flying; the Grand Lords had begun fighting, and even at such a distance, the shockwave created had sent me flying.
Those poor Grandmasters have also been struck by the shockwave, despite creating nearly a hundred distance between the fight. They got heavily injured in the battle and now running away, forgetting everything; they did not even attack each other while running away; they had done that earlier.
I also began to put the distance between the battle, but I did not move too far away; I would need the protection of Lady Vivian or the Grand Commander if the powerful enemy attacked me.
The battle is dangerous, but things might get even worse for me. There is a high that Grimms might send a powerful Grimm to kill me, the one who would be even more powerful than the Stone Lightning Apeman, so I need to be prepared.
Thankfully, it would not come through the fort; the fight of Grand Lords had created the blockage of s.p.a.ce. There are ripples everywhere that even Grand Lord thinks twice about breaking the s.p.a.ce here.
Still, it did not change things much, except for giving me a minute or two extra. The Grimms would teleport a little far from this place before coming flying toward us; it will give me a minute or two.
BOOOOOM!
Suddenly, a defeaning boom rang out from a distance; it was so loud that I felt like going deaf, but it was nothing compared to the shockwave that came with it; it had sent me flying like a broken kite. Still, the sound and shockwave paled compared to the horrifying scene that appeared in a place where the attacks of Grand Lords clashed.
The s.p.a.ce cracked like gla.s.s, and through it, I could see dangerous spatial waves that were roaring in the s.p.a.ce sea; I couldn't help but shudder to look at the scene.
Even after gaining such strength, I still fear the spatial sea and I should, that thing is extremly dangerous, that even Grand Lords travel inside it carefully.
The spatial waves are the least dangerous aspect of the spatial sea, as there are things that are far worse than exist there. Some of them had even killed the Grand Lords from both sides.
Their battle continued, getting more and more intense with every second that it reached the height that broken s.p.a.ce had become a common scene.
Seeing the defensive methods that Lady Vivian had used at the beginning of the battle, I had thought she would fight defensively, but she is increasingly offensive, matching blow with a blow against the Grimm, rarely using the defensive methods, and from what I could see with my abilities, she is amazingly skilled.
It did not seem like she had gotten the power of the Grand Lord just a few days ago.
Hun!
I was happily watching Lady Vivian fighting equally with the Grimm Grand Lord when suddenly I looked up, and grave expressions appeared on my face seeing what was happening.
A sudden reversal appeared in the battle between the Grand Commander and the Star Crockman.
