Chapter 2608: Mountain Cleaving Style
"Forth cleave!"
I said, and as I moved my sword, compared to its hammer, my sword seemed much slower and had a faint soft silvery glow as it moved.
The glow looked faint, and it released the specks of gentle light as it moved. These specks looked soft, but if one looked at them carefully, one would see these soft specks are not harmless light but extremly concentrated fire that affects even s.p.a.ce.
CLANNNG!
My sword clashed against the huge hammer, and the energies clashed, and their clash had created a spatial wave that had spread around us.
Thud!
Still, the attack was powerful without a doubt; despite the powerful counter, it had shaken me and forced me to take a step. The attack was so powerful that it had nearly forced me to take a second step back, but I had stopped myself from doing that.
"How do you do that?" asked the Stone Lightning Apeman as it looked at me with a deep shock. "You are not the only one with the cool art; I have one too," I replied, and that made it angry, but it brought a smile across its face.
"I am quite surprised you could synch your art to your Inheritance to such a degree, considering the Inheritance you practice," It said, and I felt the invisible weight from it increasing further.
"I had never fought a human with a move like mine, and now I want to see how much power you could harness from it," it said with a grin and came at me with an attack that was much stronger than before.
'Sixth Cleave!'
I said and once again swung my sword with all the power I could harness from my body.
The power is increasing every moment as more and more strengthening energy pours inside me from my runes; the strengthening energy provided by the bloodline of two Lizaradman is huge; it will take some time before I absorb it all.
CLANNNG!
Thud Thud
Once again, our weapons clashed and forced me to take a step back. This time, the attack was too powerful that despite an increase in strength, I had to take two steps back and stop myself before I took the third step, while it looked at me with a frown.
It is not the only one who is confused; I am confused too. If I had been in its place, I would continue with the attack, not giving the enemy even a fraction of a second to relax, like those two Lizardmen did with me.
Just thinking about their attack is making me shudder; the b.a.s.t.a.r.ds had really taken me to the brink of death.
"I am wasting too much time; I should finish you off as soon as possible," It said as all the confusion on its face vanished.
I was about to say, 'that is how you deal with your enemies,' when those words died in my mouth; as the extremly powerful feeling began to radiate and the next second, it disappeared, and a feeling of immense threat rose in my heart immediately.
I felt the feeling of threat coming from above, and when l looked up, I saw it above me while its huge hammer coming down on me with immense speed.
The Lizardmen had the abilities and combat skills polished enough that they would bring down anyone to their knees.
This Stone Lightning Apeman did not have such skills and abilities that had nearly brought me to death's door, but it had the raw power and speed, which I think is even more dangerous. As once struck by such a straightforward raw attack, one would die or immobilize.
'Second Cleave,'
I did not think, the moment I had sensed the attack; my sword moved, it had moved on its own, and it took me a fraction of a second to realize it was moving.
It is good to think my instincts took over before my thoughts could; otherwise, it would have been too late to react,
CLANNNG!
My sword stopped the attack before it could clash against me, but my happiness was short-lived as the explosive power crashed into me and sent me down like a comet, and the worse thing was, it did not even want to let me crash safely.
I had appeared below me and now and swinging its hammer up. If I crashed against it, I would not survive.
Seeing that, I had thought about summoning my s.h.i.+elds but shook my head at the safest option. If I kept summoning my s.h.i.+elds against every bit of threat, then where would I learn? This is a wonderful opportunity to learn.
The battle with Lizardmen twins and this battle had provided me with ample inspiration, and I want to actualize what I learn.
It is going to be extremly dangerous, but I had to take the risk, as it is the only way I would be able to increase my combat style, and looking at how badly my battle with the lizard twins went, I am in desperate need to improve and polish my skills.
So, I harnessed every bit of the strength I had and poured it into the sword, which was already moving toward the hammer coming from below.
CLANNNG!
My sword clashed against the hammer, and a huge force came at me, which clashed against conflicting momentum and rocked my body.
Puh!
It had shaken me so much that it had injured me despite the protection of my armor. My internals was injured, and I had to vomit the blood with the tiny pieces of my internal organs inside it.
The injuries healed in an instant with the strengthening energies in my body, but another attack came from behind me, and this one was even more powerful than the one before. I again had to use every bit of my strength I had to defend against it.
CLANNNG CLANNNG CLANNNG!
Our weapons clashed several times in a second, with each attack more powerful than before, a third of which would end up injuring me.
It seemed to have an unlimited reserve of power, constantly increasing its attack's power without stopping. Many times, I just wanted to summon out my s.h.i.+elds and defend. As smallest mistake on my part will give it a chance to hit me, and that would be the end of me.
Still, I preserve it as it is the only way I can learn, and I am learning fast; I could feel the changes in the way I am wielding seven cleaving moves, getting more and more refined in using the wonderful moves I have got from my art.
Till now, I have got the seven attacking moves from my armor, from copper cleave, which I had named the first cleave, to searing cleave, which I had named the seventh cleave.
I had rarely used these moves, as I had always felt they were incomplete and hollow. I was quite right about that.
When I got the seventh cleave a month ago, I found out that this cleaving style is part of the combat style called the forge mountain cleaving style; it had twenty-one moves, which are divided into three parts of seven.
With the seven moves, the style had become complete enough that I could use it but still felt hollow in power.
