Chapter 2487 Tomb

Slice!

Sarah cut the snake monster in two as it attacked before disappearing from our spot; the attacking snake also disappeared in her storage.

While we are trying our best to remain undetected, we still get detected now and then and would swiftly deal with that threat before it attracts others.

It had been more than an hour since we had entered the blood bane section, and the corrupted blood energies here had become so intense that it has begun to suppress us. Here, an initial Grandmaster could forget about surviving; they would disappear in a matter of seconds.

Even a mid-Grandmaster would feel a huge pressure, and even we, who have the power of peak Grandmasters, are feeling considerable pressure from this blood corruption.

Sup Sup Sup

For the next fifteen minutes, we avoid every monster we come across before getting discovered by a group of mantis monsters. They are smaller than my palm, but those sharp blades cover bodies enough to slice apart the hard scales of Grandmaster cla.s.s monsters.

There is eighter of them had attacked me, and with their great speed, they appeared beside me in an instant, trapping me from all the directions, leaving no s.p.a.ce to escape.

They were just about to strike my skin when a smile appeared on my face as each and every one of them got frozen in the air before the light in their tiny eyes disappeared. I waved my hand and collected them into my storage.

'These bodies will be quite helpful in some experiments,' I thought.

There are a few people still remain in the hall of sleep, and one of them has an especially potent blood poison. Till now, I haven't found a safe way to extract it. These bodies of monsters might show me the way to neutralize that poison.

A few more minutes have pa.s.sed, and we have pa.s.sed by another huge broke building. This one was quite famous; it was the place where Grandmaster Veronica, hazel's mother, had found a resource that helped her breakthrough into the Grandmaster's cla.s.s.

Finally, after twenty-some minutes, we stopped, and I finally got a look at the tomb that Sarah had talked out, and I have to say, it surprised me.

It is floating in the air and looks quite majestic despite being the size of the house.

It is made of bone-white marble and has the carving of majestic snakehead humans; for one glance, one might consider them a Grimm Monsters, but they are not; they asar, the cousins to nagas. They have more human forms than the nagas.

'There is a powerful monster below; last time, I had to fight it for a long while before I escaped its clutches and entered the tomb," She explained without any hint of emotions.

To be honest, I was quite surprised by Sarah's behavior; she was still giving me nasty glances, and her voice was cold as ice, but it was still a hundred times better than how she behaved around me. If I had been a little gullible, I would have thought my show of force had affected her.

No, she is just her behaving nicely to suit her own purpose.

"It is not a problem," I said and flew toward the floating tomb; she looked surprised but appeared beside me after a moment of hesitation.

SUP!

For a few seconds, nothing had happened, but when we had reached halfway into the tome, a big blood-red stream came from the ground. Its speed has even surprised me as it appeared beside her in less than a second and attacked us with a sharp tail.

"Now, now, it is not how you greet the guests," I said, and the monster froze when its sharp tail was a few inches away from cutting me into two.

The monster in front of me is blood red lizard; it is slim and quite small, barely three meters long, but it is extremly powerful. A peak Grandmaster with a powerful defense, and when one combines that with speed, it is terror.

No wonder it was able to give a hard time to Sarah.

"Let's go," I said after I stored the body of the lizard monster.

Krrrrr!

A few seconds later, we are at the door of the tomb, which Sarah pushes open without saying anything. Soon, the door opened enough that both of us flew inside.

The inside is huge, a few times bigger than what it seemed from the outside, and is filled with murals. Shows the life of the snakehead man, from its birth to the glories it had accomplished, but these murals are not perfect; somebody seemed to have intentionally defaced them.

They even created their own murals where they are showing its cruel deeds against the race, which seemed to have been made from plants.

The strength of these people was not weak, as these murals are protected by the formation, and these had changed the formation so that it would preserve even their murals. It is quite clear that it had been done with great anger, and these flower people are the ones who seemed to be the ones doing it.

"This tomb has five levels; I have only been able to reach the second," Sarah said, and she moved, and she walked in a specific way as if it avoid the triggering of something.

I copied her to the movement and soon reached the door, which was locked with the formation. She took a glove and wore it before pus.h.i.+ng the door with it.

Hun!

A few seconds later, the gloved hand pushed open the door and seeing that, I couldn't help but get surprised.

I have seen that formation, and it is not easy, but that glove was able to break it within a couple of seconds. Such levels of formation-breaking artifacts are extremly rare; even with thousands of years of ruin scouring, our race did not have many artifacts of such caliber.

These tools are so rare that only Grand Lords use them.
