Chapter 2460 A Request

Buzz!

Finally, the formation on the last bookshelf broke apart, and I began to take books out of it excitedly.

As usual, most of them were about anatomy, but there are still some about herbology, runology, and the range of encyclopedias from plants to monsters. The collection of this torturer is really good, and the knowledge in it is highly advanced.

"You are a very talented human; I have never seen anyone below century work with the formation like that; even among the hosts of celestial inheritances I have come across, you are quite good," said the being suddenly, startling me little.

"Thank you for the praise, my lord," I said, to which this cute being shook his head in all seriousness. "It is not a praise but a fact, human." It said and began to walk out of the room, and I followed behind it since I had finished looting the s.p.a.ce.

"You must be wondering why part of my soul doing in my nephew?" It asked suddenly, completely surprising me.

"Yes," I replied; it did make me curious.

"I had sent my nephew on an important mission and placed a small part of my soul inside him at a great price."

"It was worth it; the result of the mission was beyond my imagination, but on the way, my nephew got captured by these b.a.s.t.a.r.ds of Red Grave, and since my soul had expended all its energy during the mission, I wasn't able to rescue him," It said while its eyes filled with great regret.

"He even used burned his soul to soul to power up this piece of my soul, so it could be sustained over the thousands of years," He added with misty eyes.

He cleared them as he stopped and turned toward me with eyes burning up with the resolve.

"I have a request of you, human," It asked suddenly, and it stumped me. "I don't know whether I could help you with anything myself with the little power I have," I said, and to be honest, I did not want to do anything for this being.

It will be, without a doubt, an extremely dangerous endeavor, not to mention we live in a tiny isolated world that has no contact with any other world.

"I am not asking you to swear an oath or put a geas on you; it is just a request that I hope you will fulfill if you ever got the power and are close to my world," He said and gave me a look that took away all my willpower to reject it.

"Fine, as long as it does not risk my life or have any consequence on me, I will do it. Though I do not think I will be able to do it since barely in our world has someone become powerful enough to venture outside," I accepted with a mirthless smile.

"I don't think you will have any problem getting enough strength to get out of your world, human," It said too; I could only smile.

A moment later, I saw it closing its eyes, and its whole body began to s.h.i.+ne as the yellow scroll began to form in its hand. By the time the minute is over, the scroll has been completely materialized in its hand. It is a real scroll with an elaborate design; it does not look like it is made of energy.

It seemed to conjure or take out this scroll, have taken a lot out of it as it had become translucent and felt like he could disappear from the world any second.

"If you ever reach the world Tyagran, then go to house Misagar and give this scroll to the person named G'harfas Nar." He said as he handed me the scroll.

"Are you sure this G'Harfas Nar person is still alive? As you have said, it has been ten thousand years," I asked while not accepting the scroll yet.

Hearing my question, a confident smile couldn't help but appear on his face. "I quite sure I am still alive, but if you find out I have died, then hand it over to my daughter G'harfan Nar," He said, and this time, I accepted the scroll.

"While I am accepting the schroll, don't hold out too much hope; even I have no confidence of myself that I will become powerful enough to walk out of the world," I said to which it had smiled.

Even though I might have impressed it somehow, we both know why it had handed me this scroll. It is because it had no choice; I am likely the only human it will meet before it disappears, and it won't give to the Grimms that may come later.

So, it had no choice other than to trust.

"Now that you have accepted my request, it would be rude for me to not give you anything it returns," it said, and hearing that my eyes couldn't help but widen up.

"In this state, I could not provide you with any resource to the artifact; all I could provide you with was some knowledge." It said with regret. "Though, when you successfully deliver this scroll, my main body will reward you beyond your wildest dreams," It declared.

The promise of the future did not impress me; I am more interested in what it could do for me, and since it graciously offered me the knowledge, I will not decline it.

"I need soul-related knowledge, most importantly on its efficient working and avatar creation," I said, and surprise couldn't help but appear on my face.

"Little human, a word of advice, don't think about creating an avatar till you make a breakthrough out of the primary stage," It said and closed its eyes.

A minute later, two things have formed in its furry hands; one is a tome, which covers reached reads' Transcendence of soul', and the other is a silver scroll. The materialization seemed to have taken a lot of it as it became so translucent that I could barely see it.

Those at a distance will only see a tome and the scroll floating in the air and not the being that is holding them.
