Chapter 2171: Unmatched Skills II
CLANNNG CLANNNG CLANNNG
Should I just summon my s.h.i.+eld? It will make things a lot easier for me. I asked myself as I continued to defend against it.
I am at my wit's end fighting against it; its combat skills are too refined for me to do anything against it. I have the strength to fight against it but lack the sufficient skills, which have made things dangerous for me.
If I summoned my s.h.i.+elds, everything would become easier, and I could only dream of doing anything to me, but that would also make things quite harder for me as I would have to spend a lot more time in killing it than I would right now.
I am very close already, and I just have to fight. I have been fighting for a couple of more minutes before I will have this Vidette in my hand.
Not to mention, it is my benefit if I continued to fight against such a skillful enemy, it will help me refine my combat skills tremendously, but there is a quite good chance that it might be able to break the defense of my sword and if that happens, I would dearly regret I had taken such risks.
I had thought for a couple of seconds before I finally decided not to summon my s.h.i.+elds and continue fighting this way.
I understand the risks, but I would still choose it. I am currently skilled enough to deal with nearly all the master and even Vidette, but I would pale in front of experience of Grandmasters, which most of them are hundreds of years old.
I would need to start making the preparations for them, but before that, I should be able to deal with this very dangerous Vidette first.

One after another, the attack came at me, and the Grimm Monster seemed to understand my weakness as well. It begins to launch skillful attacks with the great power that I am trying my all to defend against.
"Hehe, human, you are at your wit's end; it won't be long before I tear your flesh through with this blade of mine," The Vidette said with a laugh before launching another skillful attack.
"You can ssure dream," I said while dodging its blade at an inch distance which made me stutter a little, but I couldn't care less for that as powerful attack its wing next, which is even faster than its scimitar.
I defended the attack with my sword before dodging the scimitar again with the hair breath distance.
Seconds pa.s.sed by as my dance with the dead continued, and I stopped worrying about the consequences and began fighting without worry with nearly all my concentration.
Within seconds, a change started to occur in my fighting style. It is was beginning to move away from an extremely cautious stance and go a bit more daring; I knew the risks, but I continued with the approach as I thought it would be the best.
The daring defense is better than the cautious defense, and my approach showed the result within a minute.
From every attack getting defended inches away from me to a meter. It gave me a huge breathing s.p.a.ce; for a couple of minutes, I had been feeling quite breathless with nearly every attack getting close to hitting me.
While I have gotten a breaking s.p.a.ce, it had made Grimm Monster very angry, and to my surprise, it began to make mistakes.
It took me a while to understand the reason for that, and it is quite simple. While it had trained itself to fight very skillfully when using its full power and likely trained with Grandmaster and fellow Vidette, it had not fought against a human of my strength before.
The powerhouses as videttes are very prideful of their power; they have sacrificed so much, their future, the pleasures, and many other things to be the absolute best in their level.
Now despite being an absolute best, it is not able to defeat me after fighting so long, and it is making it angry, taking it away from the cold and combat.
"Try a little harder, or it won't be long before my sword pierces into your chest," I said with a smile that made blazing anger appear in its eyes.
"You little s.h.i.+t, you will pay for those words!" It shouted and attacked more furiously, which again worked in my favor. It is already attacking me with its full power, so there is no increase in its strength, and the blazing anger forced it to make even more mistakes, giving me a lot of breathing s.p.a.ce.
I continued taunting it every few minutes as we fought. It knows what I am doing, it is not a child to not understand such a simple thing, but knowing doesn't help it from getting even angrier.
A few more minutes pa.s.sed, and we were now fighting above the lake. The powerful monsters of the lake had hidden deep below, and while those who could not die, even those powerful Master cla.s.s one are barely surviving.
Another two minutes pa.s.sed, and my ever so careful eyes have finally dared to relax a little. After fighting so long on the knife's edge, I am finally done; the Vidette is now good as dead.
"Stop!"
I said, and to the utter shock of the Vidette, it had stopped, it had stopped on my command, not having an ability to even twitch.
I have been very careful in binding the Vidette; I have not only bound 95% but also bound it by a double layer. I did not need to go this excessively, but I had to see it is Vidette and because I have not been able to charge leaf enough to use it.
If it had, a single layer would have been more than enough as I would have directly sent it to my core harvested it, but now, I have to do it from outside.
