Chapter 801: Clash of Fates: The Soul's Sacrifice

"Stop that!" Lorelai shouted, her wings fluttering behind her back as a golden glow slowly burst out from her.

"R-Ren . . . What are we going to do? Looks like Lorelai will break free," Evie said.

Ren didn't know what to do either. Would he side with Lorelai and save those souls, or would he side with Malifira and the others to save Azazel?

Ren clicked his tongue. Was there an in-between in here where everybody was alive and satisfied?!

Did he made a mistake somewhere for this to be the outcome?

"Malifira, hurry! She's going to break my spell!" Lethargia warned.

Malifira focused on extracting the corruption from the still unconscious Azazel and was about to inject it all into the souls in the giant glass jar when a burst of light engulfed the surroundings.

Lethargia was forcefully thrown back by the impact of Lorelai's potent powers. She collided with the wall, then crumpled to the ground, unconscious.

Everyone could suddenly move again.

However, the half-angel had unleashed her full strength, and using Demon's Bane, she sprinted to Malifira.

With all her angelic powers, Lorelai charged at Malifira, determined to disrupt the extraction process.

However, Desira and Vivi quickly moved into action, intercepting her path.

"We will hold her! Save Lord Azazel!" Desira shouted, rallying Vivi to aid her.

Lorelai, fueled by her full angelic might and wielding Demon's Bane, proved to be a formidable opponent especially for demons and devils.

Desira and Vivi struggled to contain her, and even Avaris, limited by his snail form, could offer little assistance.

Iraelyn transformed into her half dragon form, joining Desira and Vivi in their efforts to restrain Lorelai.

The arena became a chaotic battleground, with the clash of powers echoing through the air.

Ren was stunned by the sudden turn of events, and found himself at a crossroads. The impending confrontation escalated into a fierce battle between the Warlords and Lorelai.

Elena pleaded for guidance, but Ren remained unresponsive, his mind grappling for the optimal solution.

"Keep her away! I only need a minute!" Malifira shouted, urgently injecting the corruption into the jar. The fate of Lord Azazel hung in the balance.

"I WON'T LET YOU!" Lorelai shouted fiercely. She swiftly retrieved a divine rare artifact from her inventory a crucifix that soared upward, emanating a radiant light.

Those within its radius, including Desira, Vivi, and Iraelyn, were pushed to the ground, immobilized by its divine power.

"SHIT!" Desira hissed in frustration.

Even Iraelyn, in her formidable half-dragon form, succumbed to the artifact's influence.

The radiance emanating from it had the capacity to sap them of their strength and energy.

"Malifira!" Vivi cried out, witnessing Lorelai closing in on her and Lord Azazel.

In a crucial moment, Elena intervened, and Ren, together with Evie, unleashed a barrage of spells against Lorelai, attempting to thwart her advance.

"Ren . . . What are you doing?!" Lorelai couldn't believe that Ren and the others were siding with Azazel and the demons. She thought that they were on her side and on a mission to save those souls that Salister Kane stole.

"Sorry, Lorelai . . . but we won't let you," Ren said. "It's the only way for Azazel to live."

"By sacrificing that many souls!" Lorelai shouted at him. "One demon against those hundreds of thousands?! Are you an idiot!?"

Ren took a deep breath and said firmly, "I don't know those mortals, but I know Azazel. Throughout our journey in here, we've became friend, and yes, I would sacrifice those strangers for him to live. I would do the same thing to you, too, if you're ever in this situation. Is that so wrong?"

"Ren . . ." Desira and the others couldn't believe that Ren had sided with them, but they were so grateful to him nonetheless.

Vivi cried, snot coming out from her nose. "Thank you, Ren!"

Lorelai, too, couldn't believe what she was hearing and stared at Elena for support.

Elena only shrugged. "Sorry, but I'm with Ren here."

"You . . ." Lorelai felt drained all of a sudden. She couldn't believe that her friends had suddenly become her enemies.

They had shared journeys together, and it was harder for her to even raise her weapons against them.

However, she had a duty, both as a mortal and half-angel, and she would carry it out to the end, no matter what the outcome would be.

"So be it . . ." Lorelai uttered, and powerful bursts of light and magical energy emanated from her.

A wide summoning pentagram appeared on the horizon, and with it came two angels. Their forms were nothing but light, and it was hard to make out their faces.

When they descended and started to attack, Ren was surprised that they had the same stats as Lorelai.

'This isn't good,' he thought. One strike from those angels would spell death for him and Evie.

Luckily, Elena kept one of the angels occupied, while Ren and Evie struggled with the other one.

Desira and the others could start to move again since the Crucifix spell had started to wear off. They immediately went to stop Lorelai, who quickly went to Malifira's direction.

But their efforts were useless as Lorelai countered their abilities and sent them flying away.

"Don't get in my way or I will be force to kill you!" Lorelai shouted at them and pressed on.

"Malifira!" Vivi and Desira shouted when Lorelai was just meters away from her.

Lorelai raised Demonsbane in an attempt to slice Malifira in two and stop her from what she was doing when a powerful giant axe sent her flying away.

"Hubrion!" Desira and the others shouted in glee.

Hubrion, who was unconscious a while ago, was now on his hooves, though still somewhat weakened.

"I heard everything," Hubrion said, panting. "Leave that half angel to me and hurry, inject those corruptions and destroy it."

Malifira nodded. "Thank you."

"Don't give your thanks yet," Hubrion said and flexed his axe. "I haven't forgiven you for ruining my duel with Lord Azazel."

Malifira chuckled. "Is that so?"

"The only way to make it up to me is for you to accept my challenge after this is over."

Malifira offered a small smile. "So be it then."

Hubrion threw her a smirk and went off to stop Lorelai.
