It was a new day and a new morning for the Orcs to celebrate. But everyone only felt the grief of the loss of their families and Orakh. The camp was filled with sorrow, and the depressive mood hung over the sky like thick smog.
No one was in a jolly mood to even keep the fire burning. Their limbs weary and eyes tired of the countless sleepless nights as they awaited for the chieftain's command like a puppet.
Just like what Roni was feeling, who was standing at the side with a grim constipated face. He didn't know how his guild got wiped out last night and how he was kicked out of the team because Hugo pointed all the blame at him.
Why they didn't have the Blade and why they were wiped out was all because of him. Everything was his fault even though he didn't know what happened after he died. And it was not like he could do anything even if he was alive.
And now, with nothing but Ren's words holding the thin rope of his sanity, he was desperate to get the Blade to redeem his name and join Great Dynasty once more.
This was Roni's last chance to improve his miserable life. Even if he had to beg on his knees and licked Ren's boots to help him, he would do it. Starting over wasn't even the problem. Getting back to Great Dynasty was the main issue here and Roni would do anything to go back to the guild.
At the side, Fate Alliance Guild had faces that were full of sunshine, brighter than the actual sunny day.
Meanwhile, the other guilds were low-spirited and just wanted to get whatever item they deserved in that quest. Even though they wouldn't get the Twin Moon Blade, at least they got something like potions or pelts to make up for their trouble for two nights.
The good thing about the whole quest was that, even though they wouldn't get the Blade, they wouldn't come out empty-handed, either. Based on their performance on the previous two nights, Sharina would reward them with items and gil.
It was better than nothing at all.
The players noticed that Sleeping Dragon and Great Dynasty was absent. They must have called an urgent meeting to discuss about some of their core members getting wiped out. They had to start all over again after all. They must have reorganized their members and changed class and race.
"Sharina, we came here to collect our prize," said one of the players who couldn't wait for the chieftain to rest.
Sharina only looked at the player up and down. Her face was tired, and her eyes were annoyed. But since a promise was a promise, she didn't have any choice. Best to get it done and over with.
"Your guild didn't even killed a Night Crawler. I guess a Health Potion and a hundred gil would cut it," said Sharina with a smirk.
The players' faces went pale while Ren shook his head in amusement. They should have expected that the prize was based on their performance. Most of the players thought that they would get something big just because they survived the night.
Since the Night Crawler and Night Thing couldn't be killed, most players thought that they would get something if they only protected the chieftain. No one could use divine magic yet, so they mostly thought that killing the Night Crawlers weren't a requirement to get a prize.
Everyone gave way when it was Fate Alliance who walked towards Sharina. Dmitri and his crew were marching like they had won the lottery, while Rayna made sure that she smiled her beast when the cameras captured how they got the Twin Moon Blade.
Nobody paid them the attention that they craved so badly. None would give that satisfaction since most were bitter at them for winning the Twin Moon Blade.
Roni was at the edge of his feet, biting his nails off as Dimitri received his prize. Ren's words must really be the truth, or his life was in jeopardy. His carefully built relationship with Hugo and Great Dynasty would crumble before his eyes at this point, and his chance to become like Ren or even greater would turn to clouds of dust.
This mustn't happen! Roni was about to wet his pants from his nervousness and fear. He spent months getting into Hugo's team. He did as he was told, obey without complaint, and was flattering them when necessary.
How could all his hard work end now?
"Is this it?!"
Dimitri's loud voice rang in the air, angry and disbelief with tons of confusion, drawing every players' attention to him.
Dimitri didn't care if his amiable look was replaced by an ugly frown nor his soft voice replaced with a snarl, or the sweet smile on his lips replaced by a twisted sneer.
He didn't care about it because the coveted prize, the Twin Moon Blade, the reason why they were here for two nights and faced gruesome adversaries along the way was not amongst the items they received.
