Midnight Cinderella - Chapter 11

Chapter 11

h.e.l.lo everyone! There used to be a complete machine translation of Midnight Cinderella up here by scrpgrl, which I was editor for. In the last week it has been taken down, and I'm not entirely sure what happened. I had slipped out of contact as I was focusing on translating I Seem Unsuited For Dating, and in general I prefer translating to editing.

However, I do still have the chapters I edited (11-19), and it seems a waste to throw them out. They are a little rough as I never proofread them properly. I will wait a little to hear from scrpgrl before posting all of them, which will also hopefully give me time to look over them. :)

If you would like to pick up the translation, please contact me here on Wattpad! Otherwise, I will consider picking up the series upon concluding ISUD.

This was absolutely up there as one of the most embarra.s.sing moments in his life. When Jiang Ran had touched him just now, he'd felt quite comfortable and unconsciously been turned on!

Blus.h.i.+ng, Feng Jing jerked out of Jiang Ran's arms and shrank to one side. Jiang Ran was also shaken up, her hands still held stiffly in mid-air.

No wonder she thought her dog had been acting strange lately. So as it turned out, it was h.o.r.n.y! Feeling emotional, she tapped quickly on the keyboard.

Jiang Ran: Yan Huan Huan, are you asleep?

Yan Huan Huan: ...Just about.

Jiang Ran: My dog seems to be in love!

Yan Huan Huan: ...

Yan Huan Huan: You stayed up late tonight just to tell me this?

Jiang Ran: ...I just touched him and he had a physiological reaction.

Yan Huan Huan: ...Are you into that kind of thing? Why not sterilize it?

Jiang Ran: I've thought about it before, but it's always seemed a tad inhumane. He's still so young! He's probably still a virgin.

Yan Huan Huan: ..........................

Yan Huan Huan: Sterilization is good for the health of a male dog. He'll easily fall ill in the future if you don't. Also, have you ever heard this saying?

Jiang Ran: What?

Yan Huan Huan: Good men don't raise cats, good women don't raise dogs. :)

Jiang Ran: ....

She didn't understand.

She turned off her computer and looked at the dog shrinking to one side.

Feng Jing: ......

He got up and made a break for his nest in the living room, but was caught by Jiang Ran. "Woof woof!" he barked in panic.

Jiang Ran grabbed him and smiled: "Dear Er Huang, you've grown up. Just now, Yan Huan Huan advised me that it isn't great for you to be fertile. Why don't we find a time for your operation?"

Feng Jing froze for a moment, vehemently opposed: "Woof woof woof woof!"

Jiang Ran frowned. "Don't you want to be sterilized?"

"Woof woof!" Of course not! Even if it's just turning into this dog at night, he doesn't want to lose his b.a.l.l.s! Jiang Ran saw how worked up he was and soothed him for the time being. "Well then, if you don't want to go, don't forget you shouldn't bark loudly at night."

Feng Jing quieted down quickly. Seeing that he understood, Jiang Ran washed her hands and turned off the lights.

Feng Jing stood in the dark for a moment, and then sadly slunk back to his nest in the living room.

This dog really was too h.o.r.n.y, he thought.

When he considered it, though he was very popular with girls, along the way he had encountered many women who have tried to take advantage of him. He had never reacted to one before, yet today Jiang Ran had merely touched him. It could only be blamed on the dog.

He remembered the first time he saw Jiang Ran, her beautiful collarbone and open collar...

Stop!

The dog in the living room smashed his head down.

The night seemed extraordinarily long, and Feng Jing stayed up quite late only to sleep badly. Since he didn't have to work for a while, he had turned off his alarm clock, and when he woke up the next morning, it was already bright outside.

He reached for his mobile phone at his side and looked at it. It was already 10 o'clock.

Exhaling deeply, Feng Jing turned over, and suddenly recalled awkward moments from last night.

Feng Jing: "...."

Last night had just been an accident. He knew himself well. He wasn't a casual person.

Comforting himself thus, Feng Jing inevitably began to worry. Although he had strongly opposed the idea of sterilization, Jiang Ran might simply have agreed perfunctorily, not really intending to give up on the idea.

And since he only turned into a dog at night, he had no control over what was happening during the day. Surely he wouldn't wake up tonight to find that Er Huang has been castrated?

The idea almost scared him into a cold sweat. No, no, no, he must stop such an inhumane thing from happening!

He quickly dialed Mi Xi Er's phone and, without waiting for the other person to speak, opened his mouth to ask, "Did you find the property?"

"...I've found a couple places, but haven't confirmed them yet."

Mi Xi Er just didn't get it. Feng Jing had always lived in an excellent place. Why was he now in such a hurry to move?

Feng Jing told him, "Then tell me what you've found first. I'll take a look."

"I'll bring it over to you right now." Mi Xi Er paused and asked, "Are you just getting up? Do you need me to bring you anything to eat? "

"No, I bought lots of ingredients yesterday. You can just come over and make lunch here."

"All right."

As a truly well-rounded a.s.sistant, Mi Xi Er's culinary skills are naturally excellent. Afraid of starving Film Emperor Feng Jing, he rushed over as fast as he could.

Feng Jing, wearing a set of comfortable clothes, took the doc.u.ment bag from his hand and went into the living room. "How many places have you found?"

He sat casually on the sofa, long legs crossed. So simple an action, but such a great aura. Mi Xi Er suddenly had some understanding of why so many girls were crazy about him.

"Are you zoning out?" Feng Jing raised his head and glanced at him. Mi Xi Er coughed and quickly said, "There are plenty of newly built properties on the north side of the river, but not many barbecue shops nearby. Since I haven't yet finished collecting information, there are only five that meet your requirements. Look through them first while I cook."

"Hmm." Feng Jing snorted, opening the doc.u.ment bag in his hand.

Laying out sheets of information on the table page by page, Feng Jing's eyes slowly swept over them, until his eyes widened.

He picked up one of the sheets of paper and looked closely at it. Pillow Water Towns.h.i.+p. Mi Xi Er had done his work very comprehensively, with not only the basic information of the property but also the number of units in each building listed. Feng Jing examined it for a moment, and then the corners of his mouth gently curled up into a smile: "Here it is."

When Mi Xi Er finished making lunch, he found that Feng Jing seemed to be in a much better mood. He brought the dishes out of the kitchen, all of which were favourites. "Feng Jing, lunch is ready."

"Mmhmm." Feng Jing walked over with the doc.u.ment bag and sat down. "You can eat too," he said to Mi Xi Er, who was standing on the sidelines.

"No, no, no, that's just not done. I'll go out and have a bite later."

Feng Jing picked up the chopsticks and glanced at him: "In this house, I make the rules. Sit down. Eating alone is boring."

Mi Xi Er hesitated for a moment, and then sat down obediently. Scooping himself a bowl of rice, he felt like crying - what a good man Film Emperor Feng Jing was! Although he hadn't worked with too many entertainers, his friends had told him that in private some artists don't even think of their a.s.sistants as people.

Not only did Film Emperor Feng Jing have a decent temper, but he even invited his a.s.sistant to dinner without regard for the difference in status. If he would just stop fighting with Supervisor Qin, things would be perfect.

"Mi Xi Er."

Feng Jing's voice interrupted Mi Xi Er's thoughts. Returning to the present, Mi Xi Er hurriedly said, "Yes?"

"Go and help me inquire if there is any availability at this place." Feng Jing drew out a paper from the doc.u.ment bag and tapped it. "A rental would be fine."

Mi Xi Er looked at the information and groaned. "Pillow Water Towns.h.i.+p?" To Feng Jing, he said: "This property has been maintained well, but can only be regarded as a medium to high-end residential area. In addition, the developer has demolished several old houses to repair the newer buildings. It isn't suitable for you."

As if he hadn't heard, Feng Jing took out another piece of paper and said: "I think this building is the best. Help me find a place in this building."

Mi Xi Er: "..." What's so good about this building?! The building was repaired with one of the original households! For the first time, he began to doubt Feng Jing's eyes: "If you must choose something in this property, I think these two are better, the small-scale high-rises near the water."

"I don't like being on the water."

Mi Xi Er: "..." Then why are you looking for a house along the river?!

"Help me get the place as soon as possible, and..." Feng Jing looked over with threatening eyes, "Don't tell Qin Fan."

Mi Xi Er: "...."

Was there still time for him to spit out the food he'd just eaten?

However, Feng Jing did not give him this opportunity. After dinner, he urged him to contact the developer.

"I called to ask. The properties in this area are sold out, but there are landlords selling second-hand housing, and rentals are also available." Mi Xi Er stood by the sofa and reported his news.

Feng Jing thought about it and asked, "Is there a place for rent?"

"Yes, on the 15th floor. A 95 square meter two-bedroom." Mi Xi Er couldn't help adding, "Feng Jing, this place really doesn't suit you. If you're not happy with where you live now, I can help you find it a better one."

"No, I'm happy with the house I have right now."

Mi Xi Er: "..." Then why are you going out to rent another house and experience life?!?

"Come on, let's go and see the house." Feng Jing picked up the car keys on the table and throw them to Mi Xi Er.

Mi Xi Er: " ..."

Pillow Water Towns.h.i.+p and Feng Jing's current house were in the north and south, relatively far away. Mi Xi Er drove over 40 minutes before arriving. "Feng Jing, are you really going to rent a house here? It's really far away from work too," he continued to persuade with a hopeless heart.

Feng Jing sat in the back seat wearing a mask and pressed the cap on his head down: "It's fine, I don't work at the company building anyway."

"..." It made sense.

"You wait for me here, I'll go down and take a look," Feng Jing said, opening the door and hopping down.

Mi Xi Er's heart jumped out of his chest. "Feng--!" he shouted, and quickly shut his mouth. Oh my G.o.d, if they were recognized here, he really wouldn't have to go into work tomorrow.

"Don't worry, I'll turn around and come back." Feng Jing ignored Mi Xi Er's fervent cry, and looked around the neighborhood. This was not a pure residential district - the ground floor consisted of rented shops. After a few steps, Feng Jing saw one called "w.a.n.g Kee Barbecue."

The corners of his mouth under the mask inadvertently curled. After entering the neighborhood, he went to the building where Jiang Han was, based on the map in his memory. This streetlight must have been the place where the little couple quarreled at the time. He stood downstairs and looked up.

He remembered that Jiang Ran lived on a lower floor, likely the seventh or eighth floor. He counted up to seven and saw a few familiar clothes hanging on the balcony.

The corners of his mouth curled again, and Feng Jing's eyes gleamed a little brighter than before.

Found her.
