While the five families shared a common goal, it was Song Chis idea for the five of them to visit the imperial palace, so he was duty-bound to take responsibility for Ling Shaoxuans current state.

Song Chi understood the reason and believed the justification. It had nothing to do with confidence but everything to do with stance.
