Damien was left with only 2-10th of his divine power by the time he finished healing all of them.
It was as valuable to him as oxygen for humans.
He wouldn't be able to stay alive without it, after all. However, he hadn't hesitated to use it for the benefit of others because he knew his breaths were numbered.
The body of a mortal wasn't a good enough vessel to contain or process it.
That's why it is said that divine power isn't something a human should have.
As he had an Earth-grade physique, he was able to forcefully keep it inside of him and use it as he liked forcefully.
If he hadn't contained it inside of himself, it would have rushed out of him. As a result, his body would have exploded.
Though, keeping it inside himself and then processing it and using it as fuel to activate his ability did a lot of irreversible damage to him. It was the type of damage from which he couldn't recover.
Damien thought, 'Grandpa was serious when he said I would die from tapping into my innate power. I am about to die, but surprisingly, I don't regret doing it.'
Even though he knew he would die the moment he ran out of his will to live or his divine power, Damien smiled. He was at peace with himself.
'At this moment, even if I were to be sent back in time, I would still make the same choice.'
His smile widened when he saw the group of people he had revived.
'At least this way, I was able to revive the people who died because of me tonight and punish the evildoers.'
He felt pleased to see them alive.
As if feeling his gaze, the knights and mages in the rose garden turned to Damien, lowering their heads and bending their knees to bow to him respectfully, "Young Master, do you have any order for us?"
"It's not an order, but I do have something to say to you." Damien clasped his hands behind his back as he said that to them. He wasn't even ten years old, but he had the temperant of a battle-hardened warrior and a scholar and carried himself with grace worthy of a noble. "If you want to, you may kill the ones who murdered you and participated in murdering you. I hope you will, as this is your only chance to resolve your grudge against them."
Actually, Damien wanted to kill the members of the alliance of evil in the rose garden with his own two hands, but he knew that would only curb the fire of hatred in his heart. Meanwhile, it would leave his people traumatized by this event.
He didn't want any physiological shadow to be left in their hearts. Thus, he motivated them to take revenge. After all, the only way they would overcome it was by killing the ones who murdered them.
He had learned about human psychology from his teacher, Edwin.
"I won't be able to sleep well at night if I don't chop off their dog heads. I, Stillman Bumford, thank you for giving me this chance."
A knight gave him a respectful bow and pounced on the motionless rebel to his right. He was the bastard that had chopped Stillman's sword-wielding hand and castrated him for a laugh before sending his head flying in the air.
He died a horrible death at his hand.
Now that Young Master Damien, his beautiful and monstrously powerful lord, had given him a chance to take his revenge against the rebel who had butchered him, he didn't hold back at all.
He beat the shit out of him before unsheathing his class weapon from his inner world and using it to slice and dice him into a dozen pieces.
After taking a good look at what he had done, he raised his head and roared in victory.
The higher his voice got, the smaller the psychological shadow that was created in his heart by getting killed by the rebel became until, eventually, it became a shadow of its former self. It didn't disappear, but it did become insignificant.
Damien smiled, seeing his knight acting like that. He knew that, at least now, he wouldn't be haunted by this memory.
"Although I have never used a weapon, I would like to use this chance to hack the devil who yanked out my heart and ate it as I breathed my last. I don't think I would be able to move past this day if I don't do it."
Damien's maid, with nothing special about her, was given a weapon, and she used it to strike the neck of a rebel again and again. It was impossible for her to cut him. She was just a commoner, not an awakened. She didn't have an aura gate or a magic gate. She didn't have a single ounce of the energy of the world or Mana in her body.
Meanwhile, her opponent was a full-fledged aura master, with two of his chains of limitation unlocked. Although he was immobilized and couldn't resist her in any way, his physical strength was ridiculously higher than hers, and his body was hard like iron. She couldn't shatter him even while using a melee weapon.
But in the end, she managed to behead him as Damien snapped his fingers, secretly using his divine power to enchant the sword she was using to hack her murderer's neck.
The onlookers looked at what the maid did in disbelief and bewilderment. They couldn't believe that the always kind and gentle Wanda would do something as terrible as chopping a person in half. But remembering what they had done to him, they understood why she was so ruthless and resolute with her actions.
Stillman and Wanda not only took their revenge but also set an example for the onlookers.
They were moved and gained the will to take revenge.
"I..., too, don't want to be stuck in the past."
"Me neither."
"Die."
