Chapter 29: Language of the Fallen Stars

Meng Xiang was very attentive to every word Tian Yi said to her, even to the point of ignoring the sound of the horses and the moving carriage.

She had blocked out every sound, allowing only Tian Yi's gentle words in her mind.

"Now that you are familiar with your breathing patterns, you will have to learn how to circulate the Spirit Qi in your body properly." Tian Yi said, his hands going into his robes.

"Here, you can use this." He then took out a scroll and handed it to her.

Meng Xiang loosened the tie on the scroll and began reading the content, her eyebrows lifted in confusion a short moment later.

To her surprise, the scroll had nothing on it.

No words, nothing; it was a blank piece of scroll.

She looked at him with a confused expression. Did he play a trick on her?

Tian Yi smiled at her reaction, and he reached for her forehead with his fingers that was glowing.

His fingers with the glow at the tip of his fingers gently touched her forehead, and the glow slowly entered her head as though it was being absorbed.

"With my authority as the inheritor of the Celestial Will, I shall grant you the permission to see and use the contents of 'Sublime Spirit Scripture'."

The moment the golden glow was completely absorbed by Meng Xiang, her eyes glowed golden, sparkling as though it was the Universe's most beautiful pair of jewels.

If she were to stand beside the picture of His Highness, Tian Yi, in the Sacred Heaven's Temple cathedral, she would look as if she was really his sibling with the same pair of golden eyes.

Removing his fingers from her forehead, Tian Yi asked with a smile on his face. "Can you see it now?"

Meng Xiang looked at the scroll in her hands again, and her eyes widened with surprise.

The scroll was no longer blank but filled with words and weird-looking symbols that resembled stars!

However, despite being able to see the contents, Meng Xiang was unable to understand them.

"Big Brother I do not know how to read" she mumbled in a low voice, feeling somewhat embarrassed.

"The content of the scroll is written in an ancient language called the 'Language of the Fallen Stars' that very few in this Universe can understand is what my mother told me. It's no wonder you cannot read it." Tian Yi explained to her, but that did not save her from the embarrassment she felt.

"Big Brother not just this 'Language of the Fallen Stars,' I cannot read or write anything,' she said.

To have very little knowledge on reading or writing as a 10 years-old mortal who lived in a poor household was not uncommon; even her parents did not learn to read or write until they were in their early twenties, but she did not know that.

And although her knowledge on reading and writing was very limited, to the point where even reading a picture book with a sentence of words would be a struggle, she was able to read the restaurant menu to some extent, especially commonly used words such as 'bread' and 'rice'.

Tian Yi opened his mouth to speak, but his face froze when he realized that he too, did not know the mortal language!

From ancient languages to forgotten languages, Tian Yi even knew how to speak in the tongue of the dragons, one of the hardest languages to learn in this Universe, but when it came to mortal language, he was shocked to find out that his parents had never taught him such a language!

He knew how to speak and understood the many languages that existed in this world the mortal language included but that is only because of a cultivation technique.

However, that cultivation technique had one flaw, and that was it did not teach him how to read or write!

Tian Yi closed his mouth after leaving it open for quite some time, speechless.

"Ahem." He cleared his throat. "I also do not know how to read or write, so let's learn it together," he said to her.

"Really?" Meng Xiang's eyes widened with surprise, feeling somewhat relieved that she was not the only one.

If he didn't know how to read or write, then there should be nothing wrong with her not knowing it either, right?

"Yes" Tian Yi nodded. "As for the Language of the Fallen Stars, I will give you a cultivation technique that will help you understand it; here you go."

He takes out another scroll and handed it to her.

"To learn the Language of the Fallen Stars, you will have to watch the midnight stars and try to feel, understand, and engrave them into your soul."

"We can start tonight."

"Un." Meng Xiang nodded, feeling excited about learning new things.

Xiao, who had been in a daze this entire time finally blinked his eyes for the first time in a long time.

"M-Monster" he could only mumble this one word after spending so much time trying to find a word that would describe her cultivation talent.

But alas, little did he know that the real monster was Tian Yi, who basically cultivated for another person as easy as breathing!
