Prologue

Julia, Im a lucky man.

When I lost you, I once hated everything about this world, blamed everything. I hated myself, I blamed myself. I took my survival as a sign of sin and guilt, panting in despair.

Never again in my life will there be something worth risking my life to protect-- I, a Mazoku cursed with longevity. But, its different now.

Back then, I just wanted to take away all the sin and pain from that soul of yours that went ahead of me. If there is a so-called heaven, Im sure thats where your heart went.

Nevertheless, if you once again graced one corner of this world, I pray that your life is a happy one. One in which you wont ever again meet a man like me, and lose your life over it.
