Chapter 311 - A Drop of Blood!
Noah glanced with a pounding heart towards the shattered pieces of the Guardian of Blood as he released the Arch Demon Lord Transformation. His body came down in size as destructive mixtures of energies still coiled around him, gradually fading away as he released the Lesser Cthulhu form as well.
He breathed out slowly as he felt an ache deep within him, feeling a numbing sensation of pain that wasn't going away even as the destructive energies of the two forms he had taken went away. Noah glanced at his body that felt fine, yet he still felt an uncomfortable feeling inside as he heard the words of his home planet's core.
[The combination of distinct powers put a strain on your still Saint Rank Origin. It should heal naturally soon, but it seems this power will be easier to use once your attributes reach the higher ranks.]
Noah nodded as he put aside the feeling of an injury he could not even see, turning his attention towards the shattered pieces of the Guardian of Blood that had stopped in the skies and began trembling as lines of blood began to weave from the many lakes covering the Inheritance Grounds.
A gorgeous red light s.h.i.+ned as the body was st.i.tched up together seamlessly, although this time much smaller as it stood the same height as Noah. The instant the face of the Guardian of Blood formed, one could see an expression of a being that was about to tear up from too many emotions.
The Guardian turned towards Noah's direction as he bowed, this bow initiating the start of something wondrous as a brilliant red light went on to cover the expansive Coliseum!
This brilliant light had Noah at the center, his body actually feeling a pull from the ancient shrine looking structure that had remained in peace throughout their battle at the center of the Coliseum, the same structure where the Guardian of Blood had emerged from.
Various mechanisms were initiating as this Ancient Shrine that looked small and dilapidated began to rise from the lake of blood it was in as it became larger and larger. The moment Noah's body was pulled near it, he could see a golden door in the middle of this risen shrine that snapped open.
The voice of the Guardian of Blood that was still bowing erupted in Noah's ears at this moment.
"When Master felt his life running out more than a thousand years ago, he left behind this Inheritance Ground where he placed all the techniques he had pa.s.sed down over the years, as well as many bloodlines for future generations that might have been born in a lower status but had the strength to achieve great things."
The golden door on the red shrine opened wide as Noah let the light that hung onto him pull him in, coming face to face with a crimson interior that was styled simply.
There was a single book shelf in the corner with a few books that seemed like they could turn into dust at any moment, as well as a small table and chair for one to sit on.
The thing that grabbed the eyes of any who entered the room though, were the abundant rings and pouches that populated the table. They shone with a magnificent hue that let one know that only the finest treasures resided in these storage pouches and rings.
"The last thing that Master did...was end his life early as he enacted a possibility for the future. He knew that with his death, the Vampyres would fall in status and grow weaker over time, and he wanted to pa.s.s down something even more treasured to him to a being that was as talented as he was, if not more. This was so that a strong protector could rise into heights even greater than his to oversee and protect the Vampyres."
These words brought Noah's gaze to the only other thing in the crimson shrine, a simple styled coffin that had now been elevated from the ground, and was slowly opening in front of Noah's eyes.
"This was the reason he set up these Inheritance Grounds in this Ancient Blood World, and created a harsh test for a future Vampyre genius who was capable enough to take his mantle. Sadly, no such being appeared in the last 1000 years. That is...until your arrival."
The coffin in the shrine opened up to reveal a shocking light and an aura of ancientness something brilliant seemed to be contained within. Noah had to blink several times as the outline of the extremely brilliant object appeared in front of him, and it shocked him with the oppressive air and domineering presence it was letting out!
This was because what had floated from the simple styled coffin...was a golden-red drop of blood!
"The talented Vampyres that clear the first level until the fifth level will receive an a.s.sortment of different quality Bloodlines depending on which level they clear, but the one to pa.s.s Master's requirements and be able to pa.s.s the last stage...shall receive on their shoulders the full legacy that he left behind."
The s.h.i.+mmering golden-red drop of blood began to flow towards Noah as the Guardian of Blood continued to release shocking words!
"The first of the rewards that comes with this Legacy is the Origin Blood of the Progenitor himself, granting the one that accepts it the reviving Bloodline of the Progenitor himself! Accepting this Origin Blood though...also means you accept the wishes that master left behind, and for you to bear all the responsibilities for the future of the Vampyre Race!"
Resounding words rang out in Noah's ears as the s.h.i.+mmering drop of blood flowed in front of him, seemingly waiting for his reply as floated majestically.
Noah's face hardened as he looked at this unforeseen chance in front of him, nodding his head as he let out words of affirmation!
"I accept!"
RUMBLE!
The moment his words were released, the drop of blood flew into him as it pierced through his chest and struck his heart a millisecond later, seemingly impatient to get started.
THUMP!
Noah clutched his chest as the essence within his body suddenly became disordered, his figure dropping as he fell to the floor of the shrine in extreme pain!
THUMP!
"AAAAHH!"
This pain was unlike anything he had ever experienced before, his body undergoing enormous changes as his now bulging eyes observed his muscles spasming as his bones creaked, veins and arteries enlarging at a visible rate as the first stage of fusing with this tremendous drop of Origin Blood was...destruction!
SPLAT!
