Two winters have been successfully hibernated by the harpies and it was time for hunting again.

For the past two years Carnage and Sky had been made to see the cruelty of this 'dog eat dog' world.

Even though Carnage's skill in killing has improved rapidly, there still were cases when she missed and the casualties piled up, making her feel extremely guilty.

Sky was little better at taking in this situation. He started developing a ignore att.i.tude. He only cared for lives which are close to him now.

This change was not momentary, he thought about it for quite some time. Why should he feel pity for the harpies?

After all they were strangers to him, he only felt feelings to the harpies closer to him such as Carnage and Mey. Sky now felt the harpies no different from the wolves they hunt.

They took the wolves life and the wolves took theirs. It was a perfect thing to do. There was no need to feel pity for them.

Today Sky and Carnage were going to hunt with Mey's team. The journey towards the wolf's den was harmonious and Mey was carefree for the entire time.

Halfway through the journey she suddenly turned towards Sky and asked, "Little Brat! What do you want to achieve by coming for this hunt."

Sky looked at the first harpy he saw in his life and flashed a smile, "I am waiting for a situation to save you in the hunt, so that I can win your heart." He replied shamelessly.

Mey hit him on his head lightly, she blushed when she heard the words 'win your heart'. But looking at how young Sky was, she just shook her head and took his words as a joke.

"Tell me the real reason, you brat! Otherwise I would not allow you on further hunting." Mey said with a serious face, but in fact she was just joking with him. She did not care about why he wanted to hunt anymore.

Sky did not hide it his reason this time, "I wanted to get closer to the colony and earn their trust. I want the blood of the colony's G.o.d, so I am looking for opportunities."

Hearing this Mey looked surprised but she suddenly laughed, "little brat you are so funny! Don't you know why there are only females in our colony. That's because of the our G.o.d's blood."

"If you take the G.o.d's blood, being a human you would likely turn into a female harpie. Now no matter how much you like harpies it's better not to change your gender!"

Sky blushed hearing the effects of the G.o.d's blood. He was sure that his arm can nullify any side effects from the blood, but Mey did not know it. So she continued laughing at him.

Even Carnage had a mocking look towards him the entire journey, she was mocking him for wanting to turn into a girl.

Sky shook his head helplessly not talking anymore. Anyway the only two he cared in the harpies were not against him getting the G.o.d's blood. So he was little more relaxed now.

Like usual Mey stopped five kilometres away from the den to drop Sky and Carnage down. Before she left with her group of harpies towards the den.

Sky and Carnage relaxed, while Carnage leaned on his chest and started dozing off. Looking at Carnage, Sky felt a mountain of emotions.

He did not belong to the harpies, so he had to leave them one day. But can he bear to leave this innocent and pure girl when the time comes. He did not know.

As he was immersed in his dilemma, His left hand suddenly throbbed, awaking him from his thoughts, Carnage also woke up since Sky's heartbeat has increased significantly.

"What happened?" She asked acting obedient.

"I feel danger!" Sky said looking towards the wolf's den.

Carnage furrowed her brows, "wolves were always dangerous!" She commented after a long time.

Sky shook his head, this sense of danger exceeded all that he felt in his life before. Mere wolves were not enough to make him feel that.

"Stay here! I will go and look." He said, it has been half a day already and it was time for Mey and her group to catch the prey. He wanted to to warn them to stop their hunt and return.

"I will come with you! And I won't take no for an answer!" Carnage was stubborn and insisted on following him.

Sky did not say anymore, he just started sprinting towards the cave ignoring the other harpies who tried to stop him.

Halfway through their sprint they heard an sky piercing howl, the whole forest shook to this howl. The ground trembled and the animals ran but the howl continued.

Carnage felt weak in her legs and collapsed from this howl, she knew what this howl meant. She had heard of this situation from her senior before. When this howl was heard all hope was lost.

"A Rank One Monster!" Carnage murmured, Sky's heart stopped hearing her words. A rank one monster was a very powerful enemy, it alone was equal to hundred of rank zero monsters.

Both Harpies and wolves were rank zero monsters, but still the wolves were way stronger than the harpies. Now a Monster with hundred wolves power came into being. There was no way the hunting team could survive this.

Sky's mind worked fast, looking for a solution as they still rushed towards the den, "can't the harpies fly away from him?" He asked betting on the flying ability of the harpies.

Carnage shook her head, a level one wolf was the king of wolves. It has a very accurate sense of smell and once it notices the smell, it never forgets. Harpies can fly kilometres but they will have to rest on ground eventually.

The wolf king has a lot of stamina and could hunt for days unlike the harpies. So it was either be killed without resistance or get killed trying to resist when faced with him.

When they reached the den they saw a mess, wolves were running all around chasing the harpies who came down once in a while.

And the harpies were flying randomly in confusion, they were impacted by the wolf king's howl which made them fall into a state of confusion.

The only one who was not confused, Mey was drawing the attention of a huge wolf. One look at this wolf and Sky knew it was the wolf king.

The wolf obviously did not put much energy in dealing with Mey. If it had, Mey would have died to its first strike.

"Ahaha! Ha!.. haa, I am going to take my time enjoying you, little harpy. Hump! How dare you hunt my race. Hump! I will capture all you harpies and makes them my s.e.x slaves. Let's see wether you have the guts to hunt my race then."the wolf kept shouting in his language.

As the time pa.s.sed his remarks only grew more vicious and Mey was being affected by his taunts.

Sky ran towards Mey, he did not care about others but Mey was different, she was a friend he did not want to lose.

Carnage followed him closely, keeping an eye on other wolves.

Sky had thought of another plan while he ran here, and that plan was very simple and involves the most required thing in this world, profits.

Sure enough the wolf king turned around to look towards Sky. He had already felt Sky's presence before but now that Sky was so close the wolf king knew he was a human.

"What are you doing here human?" He asked, clearly he was more amicable with humans than harpies.

"Ah! Could you release that harpy, I don't care about others. Only that harpy." Sky said sincerely.

The wolf king was taken back by his request, he nodded after sometime and waved his paw. Indicating that Mey can leave with Sky.

Sky was overjoyed when the wolf king accepted his request without demanding anything. He bowed towards the wolf king and gestured towards Mey to come with him.

Mey shook her head, after all Sky was too young and had not experienced the total cruelty of this world. He was fooled by a false promise from this wolf.

Looking at Mey who did not come with him, Sky felt that Mey was staying back because of other harpies. So he told Carnage a few words.

Carnage first shook her head but seeing how determined Sky was, she gave in eventually.

She flew towards Mey. Mey wanted to say something to Carnage but Carnage suddenly knocked her unconscious and carried her towards Sky.

Sky once again bowed towards the wolf king for allowing them to go. He turned around to leave with Carnage and the knocked out Mey.

But as Sky turned around,the wolf king jumped up and blocked his way.

"What are you doing? Do you want to go against your own words?" Sky asked angrily, finally realising that he had been tricked.

The wolf king shook his head, " I only allowed that one harpy to leave with you. Leave the other harpy." The wolf king said looking towards Carnage with desire.
