Ha Eun thought the mood was already ruined but didn't know whether they should continue or not. Chang Wook, on the other hand, wanted to continue but looking at Ha Eun's face, he could tell she was feeling a bit uncomfortable.
"Well, I'm tired" Chang Wook said "I'm going to sleep. Goodnight" he told her. Ha Eun nodded.
Ha Eun wondered if she should lean in for a kiss or if that was asking for too much. Chang Wook didn't know if he should kiss her or not. They stood there, looking at each other, then Ha Eun made her way to the kitchen while Chang Wook ran up the stairs to his room.
Chang Wook leaned on his closed door "Mr. Oh. You're not a bad guy, but I don't like you right now" he said as he hit himself on the head.
Ha Eun took a bottle of water and drank it all, in hopes of calming down "Out of all the indecent things I could do!" she hit the counter with her hands, which she later rubbed against each other because it hurt.
"Ha Eun, think!" she hit herself on the head "How am I going to face him tomorrow?" she started to panic now. They have kissed and held hands as regular couples do and the thought of having s…well, of going further, has crossed her mind but, realizing that the two of them were in the process of going further and the being rudely interrupted by Mr. Oh made her feel embarra.s.sed.
"In situations like these, I wish I had friends"
…
The next morning the couple didn't see each other. Ha Eun woke up earlier than usual and drove herself to work but let the driver know to take Chang Wook to work.
The driver thought the couple had an argument by Ha Eun's tone of voice. It was colder than usual and after her instructions, she apologized for calling him early and then thanked him. He wondered how horrible the fight must have been for Ha Eun to act so differently and worried that Chang Wook would be even more devastated. Whenever Ha Eun is in an argument she always knows how to hit where it hurts.
When he went to pick up Chang Wook, the driver was confused when he saw the boy smiling. Chang Wook greeted him good morning and asked him to stop by a café. The driver had prepared a whole speech to comfort him but it looked like it wasn't necessary.
During the ride Chang Wook couldn't stop smiling, thinking about last night. Of course, after the rude interruption by Mr. Oh and the awkward atmosphere between the two of them, he expected Ha Eun to act a bit shy but going as far as avoiding him made him chuckle "So cute" he said to himself.
At the café, he ordered Ha Eun's coffee. The girl that took his order was the same one as always, she was also the one that wrote in his cup to call her.
"Its been a while since you've been here" she said.
Chang Wook suddenly felt a bit awkward. He never rejected her, he just never called her.
"Yeah. Lots of stuff happened. Got a promotion and stuff" he said.
The girl smiled "Oh, that's great! I thought that you didn't come back because of me" she said, looking a bit sad.
Chang Wook shook his head and denied it "To be honest, I completely forgot about it"
The girl chuckled. Once his coffee was ready, the girl didn't hand it to him, she wrote something on it first, right in front of him and then handed it to him.
"Um…thanks" he said.
"No problem" she smiled flirtily then waved goodbye. Chang Wook nodded as he walked away. He felt completely awkward and was happy to have left that conversation. He looked at the cup to see what she wrote and it was her number with the words 'call me'
He smiled then took a pen from his bag.
Once in his office, he called Hong Joo inside. He handed her the cup of coffee and told her to give it to Ha Eun.
"She doesn't want to see me right now, so I'm counting on you" he told her.
"Did you two have a fight?" Hong Joo asked him.
"Nothing like that" he told her with a smile.
Hong Joo knocked on Ha Eun's door but no one answered so she opened the door herself. No one was inside. She decided to leave the cup on Ha Eun's desk and then went back to work.
…
Ha Eun just getting out of a meeting with the board, she felt horrible for not paying attention but who could blame her. She went through a lot last night. Once in her office, she sat down on her desk and noticed the coffee cup.
Chang Wook must have bought it for her. This just made her feel bad that she was avoiding him. She noticed some writing on the side so she turned it and saw the words 'call me.' She thought back to the girl from the café.
The monster called jealousy was taking over her body, that was until she noticed the number was scratched over with a pen and an arrow pointing to another side of the cup. She turned it around and what was written surprised her "Better hold onto me tightly. You have some compet.i.tion"
Ha Eun looked at it expressionless for a few seconds, then she scoffed and finally chuckled.
"Is this guy stupid?" Ha Eun said. He even signed it but rather than Chang Wook it said "With love, your Wookie"
Those words made Ha Eun cringe then she laughed "You're so embarra.s.sing"
Back at Chang Wook's office, he received a call from none other than Ha Eun "You're not going to avoid me any more, right?" he asked. Ha Eun felt embarra.s.sed that he saw right through her.
"If you know, don't rub it in. It's embarra.s.sing"
"Want to go on a date later?" he asked over the phone with a smile.
"Again?" Ha Eun asked "We already had one"
"Hey. There's no such thing as too many dates" Chang Wook said defensively. Ha Eun chuckled.
"Where are we going?" she asked
"We aren't going anywhere. It's going to be right here"
"In front of all these people?!" Ha Eun asked surprised. That is a bad idea.
"It'll be at night. It's called a nighttime office date"
"You just made that up" Ha Eun said.
"Yes I did" he said "That's a bad name for it, isn't it?" he asked.
"Really bad"
"But, is that a yes?" he asked with a smile. Ha Eun smiled.
"Fine"
Suddenly there was a knock on Chang Wook's door.
"Got to go. See you tonight" he said and hung up.
It surprised him when he saw that behind Hong Joo appeared Ji Seok.
"h.e.l.lo, brother-in-law" Ji Seok smiled.
