Kieee!
The eagles in the sky dived into the seawater, surfacing in the fraction of a second, with some of them holding a fish in their beaks. The eagles took off to their original altitude in the sky while some of them dropped a batch of fish on the deck of the ship.
"Good, all our food needs are met thanks to this." Compass Carburettor said in praise, condensing a palm-sized slab that he threw to Kowla, "Take this."
"What'sthis?" Kowla caught hold of the slab in reflex, staring at the figure of an unfamiliar man inscribed on its front, his action as if motioning for her to remain silent. She stared at its back, seeing a set of eleven lines.
"A mini Forbidden Tale." Compass Carburettor said, "The effect isn't as strong as the actual one, but it's still good enough to train with."
"T-This is the Forbidden Tale?" Kowla was shocked as she hurriedly pocketed it, noticing Duketace roll his eyes at the back.
"I've interacted with the original for an entire day." He said, acting smug for some reason.
"Tch!" Clicking her tongue, Kowla bowed at Compass Carburettor before heading to a nearby room, intending to train using it.
"My Lord, how effective is it?" Duketace asked, expressing his curiosity upon seeing Compass Carburettor throw him a similar palm-sized slab.
"Around a tenth in terms of effectiveness as compared to the original." Compass Carburettor said, "But, it's yours. So, you can train with it happily. And, if you want an original version all to yourself, you need to do something to me."
"Please give the order, my Lord." Duketace bowed respectfully.
"Bring me all sorts of creatures here, alive ones I mean." Compass Carburettor relayed the instructions, "From insects to fishes, any living being that potentially has Mental Fragments should be brought here. Since we're on this island, work on capturing as many fishes as possible."
"I and my daughter will work on that." Bowing in response, Duketace turned around to leave, already making plans to capture the fishes.
Compass Carburettor continued to work on his creation of the Ascender Scroll, also making plans to use his mist better. Currently, it was only able to trap the movements of Invoked Spirits. But if the Invoker wished, they could retract their Invoked Spirits into the Dreamland.
And that was a problem. Therefore, he had to create a Scroll using the mist itself. This way, the mist would invade the Dreamlands of his opponents once they retract their Invoked Spiritsafter it was trapped in the mist.
It would raise the lethality of his power. After all, if the Invoked Spirit was trapped in their Dreamland, the Invokers wouldn't be able to rely on it, making it easier to kill them.
Moreover, it could also open a path for Compass Carburettor to absorb all the Mental Fragments from their Dreamland too, something that he hadn't been able to obtain to date.
After all, only the Invoked Spirits were trapped in the mist. The Dreamland wasn't and hence vanished immediately upon the Invoker's death.
Kieee!
The metallic eagle took off to the skies, targeting an aged eagle that it captured easily and brought to the ship. Duketace tied up its legs and wings, preventing it from taking flight as he stashed them in a room.
'He's probably going to absorb its Mental Fragments.' Duketace thought, 'I can roast its meat after that. Besides, I can easily obtain as many Eagle Mental Fragments as I want here.'
Though, he couldn't go overboard. After all, the moment the Lan Clan detects any difference in the eagles, the Lan Clan Head would personally make an appearance with a troop of Clan Elders, a sizeable force enough to wipe out a town overnight.
Thanks to fishing, the availability of the eagles for consumption, herbs on the island, and the reserves on the ship, there was more than enough for them to feed upon. Hence, it was pretty easy for the three Invokers to train in the best of conditions.
A month passed in such a fashion as Duketace smoothly became a Superior Invoker. Kowla was close, looking like she would need a week or two at most to do the same.
Compass Carburettor reached the Common Invoker Status thanks to his nonstop grinding. He didn't finish the Ascender Scroll yet, for it still needed a lot of work to do, especially to attain the quality he was expecting.
Though, he already created a Scroll.
Natural Recovery Scroll!
The function of the Natural Recovery Scroll was to freshen his mind, making him constantly experience the sensation one would experience in the comfy lap of nature, peaceful and relaxing.
One of the first Skills he obtained on Earth was the Skill of Natural Recovery. So, with that experience in him, all he needed to do was find suitable Mental Fragments to result in the desired effect.
The effects of a scroll were best displayed during sleep. After all, the place where they acted upon was the Dreamland. And as its name indicated, it was best influenced by dreams, one that only happened when asleep.
The Natural Recovery Scroll maintained his mind at an optimal state during this time, allowing for a faster recovery of Mental Strength. Though, this also meant a significant amount of energy from his body would be consumed.
For that, he would have to eat more than usual. Only then would he be able to sustain his training for extended durations. Otherwise, Compass Carburettor would end up skin and bones within a week.
Once he became a Common Invoker, the first change was the quality of his Mental Strength. The level of concentration that he could focus on a task now was many times superior as compared to before.
This was not to mention that he could focus on multiple areas simultaneously. Though, this was something Compass Carburettor had trained to be capable of in the Cultivation World itself.
While constructing multiple Forbidden Tales, Compass Carburettor also worked on creating the Ascender Scroll, summoning Duketace and Kowla once he had created four Forbidden Tales.
It had been two months since their arrival to the island now as Compass Carburettor stared at the father and daughter duo, giving them the four Forbidden Tales, "Your task is to sell these in other continents after creating as big a ruckus as possible."
