Chapter 459 Can You Match an Army?
Fwoosh!
The mist quickly spread throughout the region, turning the visibility of the place to zero. None were able to see even their fingers if they were to extend their hand. And slowly, the mist continued to spread through the island.
Standing at the core of the island was Chenger, the culprit that caused a veil of mist throughout the massive island. This island wasn't small by any means. It spanned a radius of 20-30 kilometres.
And now, such a massive region was fully masked by her mist that she was releasing nonstop.
Placed next to her foot was an empty pill bottle. The pill was a mysterious treasure that she had obtained through her pub business. A certain alcohol addict from a declining noble family had taken it out of his treasury to hand it over to her, claiming it was his most valued possession.
Despite it being called his most valued possession, that alcohol addict didn't even know what this pill did, for all information regarding it had been lost.
When Chenger gathered details regarding it, she chanced upon information that it was a pill that temporarily supplied an endless stream of Origin Essence to the consumer.
Normally, if someone swallowed it during a battle, they could simply spam attacks and drown their enemy with it. But, Chenger didn't wish to simply use it against Compass Carburettor. She had better plans.
And, the first among them was to create a terrain beneficial for her. With the region of mist spreading out unhindered, her luck values exploded to a terrifying level.
Thanks to swallowing the pill, Chenger was able to mask the entire island in her mist. There was still plenty of time left for the pill's duration to end though as she used the chance to arrive at the centre of the island, reaching the peak where the strongest Dolba lived.
It was unable to sense her through the mist which also served to block detection methods. She then rapidly spammed bladed vapour attacks, riddling it with numerous injuries from all directions, causing the Dolba to flail around helplessly.
It was at the peak of the Martial Providence Stage, already the peak of their cultivation path. But, it was helpless before her and was gradually whittled down. Soon, it fell into a pool of its blood.
Chenger extracted its fusion material, surprised to see the material looking alive. Shockingly, this Dolba had been alive for so long and had refined its fusion material to the extent it had even gained sentience.
Moreover, the fusion material suddenly unleashed a beam of light, absorbing the Dolba's body into itself. Moreover, another beam of light hit Chenger, absorbing the essence of the pill she had swallowed.
The Origin Essence in the surroundings suddenly swirled into it, turning it into a mystical material, one of its kind.
"Interesting." Chenger muttered, beginning to fuse with it, "My luck became so high that it created such a development."
"Hmm?" Compass Carburettor was surprised to see that Info Scanner was no longer able to pick up Chenger's location. It was as if the other party had vanished all of a sudden.
He was already on guard when the mist covered the entire island, having used an Artifact to create a barrier over himself. Grisha too did the same as the two of them were in fact moving towards Chenger.
His goal was to target her the moment she began her fusion process, for that was when she was the most vulnerable. But right when it seemed like she had begun her fusion process, she disappeared from his detection ability.
This was Info Scanner he was talking about. It was able to detect all Systems and had been working fine until now.
"It seems our time's up." Compass Carburettor made eye contact with Grisha, directly teleporting to the peak of the mountain located in the centre of the island. They appeared in the place Chenger was last located by Info Scanner.
"I was expecting you to appear." Chenger's voice resounded all of a sudden, "Too bad for you, my breakthrough was completed within a second."
Bam!
Compass Carburettor was unable to see anything through the mist when suddenly, a hand slammed into him from the mist. It seemed fluffy like a cloud but packed a punch as if it was made of water.
Blood spurted out like a fountain as a result of the attack but vanished abruptly. Compass Carburettor was still perfectly fine, having not moved an inch from his original location. The one that died was a Mane Bull that he had summoned. And when it was killed, he just cancelled the summoning, causing all the blood to vanish. For it was never real in the first place.
He immediately brought out the Platinum Heaven Grade Golem, "Attack!"
Boom!
The Platinum Golem unleashed a sonic blast that cleared out all the mist, revealing Chenger's figure seated on a cloud of sorts, hovering high up in the air. She had hurriedly condensed another cloud under her when the mist vanished.
"Puppets" She frowned, lifting her hand, intending to snap her finger when suddenly, the hairs on her body rose, alarming her senses. She condensed a cloud layer around her when Grisha appeared atop her, phasing right through the barrier as she plunged her knife into Chenger's neck.
"This isn't her." Grisha frowned, vanishing from the spot as mist developed into hands that tried to grab her instantly.
The figure of Chenger that she had sliced turned into a cloud and dissipated while a new Chenger appeared on another cloud.
"Indeed, things have turned troublesome." Compass Carburettor nodded, having expected such things already. Chenger's ability, though it seemed simple, was in fact pretty tricky. Mist, vapour, clouds, she was able to use them for a variety of factors. And thanks to the material she fused with, it seemed her abilities had become even more mysterious and troublesome.
Now, she was even able to make fake clones of herself using the clouds, not to mention use them to attack.
Slowly, the clouds morphed, shaping themselves to resemble the Platinum Golem. And when the two clashed, they seemed evenly matched? The fluffy golem simply absorbed all the physical attacks and reformed its body while enduring the sonic blasts from the Platinum Golem.
"They are evenly matched" Suddenly, Chenger's voice resounded through the area when immediately, hundreds of clouds manifested themselves, beginning to form into golems resembling the Platinum Golem, "What about an army though?"
"Can you match them?"
