"Say what?"
You are startled. You recall vividly what would happen when the System announces that.
Luckily, this time you weren't so unprepared. However, there is no gla.s.s door to break your fall.
[4…3…2…]
You immediately drop to the floor, protecting your head with both of your arms. You await the painful shock to your brain that would surely come.
[1…]
When the System announces zero, your eyes immediately widen in shock. A ma.s.sive jolt smashes your defenceless brain, forcing an anguish scream out of you. It is far more painful the first time you have felt it.
Your mind is forced to retreat into unconsciousness.
Silence returns to the hallway, with you lying there, unmoving.
Just like the first time, someone rushes to your aid. She becomes very emotional as she embraces you in her arms. You feel her warmness as your breathing slows. The pain melts away as your brain slowly recovers.
You eventually open your eyes. Your ears are ringing like before. Your vision is also blurred.
From what you can gather, you are now in your room, on your bed. You didn't recall how you get there or who brought you there.
"Ugh… f.u.c.k…"
You groan and palm your head as you sit up. It seems that whenever there is a new Quest, the System will trigger a new update, and you will suffer a painful feedback.
"You're awake. Thank G.o.d."
Your mother calls out from the doorway. She hurriedly goes to your side and touches your forehead, checking your temperature. She checks your head, neck, shoulder and arms as well.
Your hearing recovers first just like before. Your vision, however, remains blurry.
"I'm fine, mum."
You tell your mother to stop her from examining every inch of your body.
You mother calms down. Her eyes are still reddened. "I had heard you screamed. When I rush out of my office, I saw you just lying there, in the corridor, unconscious on the floor. I thought you have hit your head somewhere, sweetheart."
"I didn't hit my head, mum. It's… nothing. I'm just very tired that all."
You tell your mother while rubbing your eyes. You want your vision to return, and you are prepared for whatever strangeness comes your way.
As the room becomes more focus, you look at your mother.
You immediately avert your eyes. She isn't naked – thank G.o.d. She is towering over you from the edge of the bed, and her a.s.sets are literally spilling out of her dress.
"Can you, umm… not leaning over me like that. I can see… you know."
Your mother smiles and straightens herself. She sits on the bed, besides you. "I love you, honey. You do know that, right?"
"I love you too."
You reply and turn to face her. Her status and attribute are visible like before. Her skillsets and traits are hidden unless you decide to undress her with your eyes. But there is something new now.
A red string – ribbon – coming out of her chest. It runs towards you and into your chest. You can touch it and apparently pull on it if you try. The moment you did, your mother jerks and becomes shocked.
Her heart is beating rapidly, and her face fl.u.s.ters.
You quickly let the ribbon go, allowing it to float and drift in mid-air. What does that mean? Could it the red string of fate? Were you meant to be?
Bulls.h.i.+t!
You tell yourself. Whatever this is, it is due to the System. It is extremely flaw – or intentional. You are sure that it is intentional.
You sigh at that and drop back down against your bed. You need to get some rest.
"I'm going to sleep now, mum. Can you turn off the light on your way out?"
You mother is still heaving, trying to steady herself and calm her emotion. She just felt something very bizarre. It was as if her heartstring was plucked.
"What is going on? I can't be falling for my son."
She tells herself and slowly leaves the room. She looks back at you one more time and turns off the light on her way out.
You let out another sigh and stare into the darkness, wondering about your life. It has become a game of sort. Your new power is too bizarre. You will have experiment with it as soon as possible.
"I need to figure this out, especially why the System give me random quest?"
You are having a ma.s.sive headache, thinking about the stupid Quest.
You were given two choices. Either f.u.c.k your mum or watch her die.
You cannot allow your mother to die. And from what you have seen of the System thus far, it has the power to kill your mother.
Although you are having awful amount of unhealthy thoughts about her, you would never act upon it – or would you? Not even to save her life?
It is very easy to bed your mother. Boost one of her skills instantly and she will not help herself.
You call that form of boosting power: s.l.u.tification. It makes instant s.l.u.t out of everyone.
Why did the System give you such an insane Quest?
You recall the first time the System had given you a quest. It was after you were let go by your agent and mocked by your rival. You feel a great desire to prove them wrong at that time.
This time around it was similar. You had a strong inclination to bang your mother. You are that h.o.r.n.y, and you truly believe that if you can't have her, no one else can.
It is your strong desire that triggers a Quest.
"Could it be that these are really quests? They are goals?"
"I will f.u.c.king become a G.o.d or I will… cut my nails."
[System rejects the wager. User must offer something of equivalent.]
"Well, I'll be d.a.m.ned."
