CHAPTER VII
The Glimpse of Her Past
"Do you have cla.s.ses today?"
I ask Sade while looking at her eyes. She knocked at my door so early this morning; I even thought she was Clover.
"I have important things to do other than those." I startle because I think that's the longest sentence and the most words she has spoken to me ever since I met her.
"And what is it, Angel?" she's really cute. I feel jealous of her lovely long hair.
"Who's Angel? My name is Sade." she asks innocently. She's right though, but still she really looks like an angel.
"You. You look like an angel to me. So what is this important thing you mentioned?"
"I want to be with you today." She says to me in a serious tone.
What is it with this kid? Such guts to ditch cla.s.s! I can't even compare.
I fix my hair first in a high ponytail. It's already hot today even though the sun is not that high up yet. I find her staring at me while I'm doing my hair.
"Do you want me to fix your hair as well?" I randomly ask her.
[…
"Let me fix your hair."
"You can't even tie your shoelaces and you're going to make my hair?"
"Geez… I'm good at anything. It's just that shoelaces are the dumbest thing that's ever made!"
"Oh please… it's just that you're an idiot and dumber than a tomato."
…]
I remember something again. Why are they coming back to me at these times? Then I look at Sade's face and find her blus.h.i.+ng. Cute! I wonder why she's blus.h.i.+ng.
She answers with a shy nod and turn her back so I touch her hair to begin. Oh, that smoothness! I'm so envious.
(ED: Author actually used an emoticon along that part 'T^T')
"I want it to be like yours." She says.
So I also make her hair the same as mine; though a bit difficult because her hair is quite long. I also fix her bangs and comb it.
"It suits you, Sade." I praise her.
After all of these, she pulls me out of my room. We walk towards the Dining Hall but we just pa.s.s on and continue walking.
"I packed breakfast for us." So, it's like that.
We soon arrive at the Groven. She tells me that she asked their cook to make all these food for us. Rich girl!
We aren't talking to each other; just staring at the sky. It's still early so we still have about forty minutes before the cla.s.s starts.
"Do you like my brother?"
She unexpectedly asks me. I want to laugh at her but her serious face tells me that she's not joking.
"N…No?" What else should I say? I don't even know the person that well.
"Do you hate him?" she asks again while her brows are furrowed. Even with her brows like that she's still cute~
"N… No. What are you saying? I don't really know your brother so I don't know."
"So he has a chance?"
"Hmm… Why are you even asking these strange questions?"
"I just want to know if he has a chance."
I think I'm 'bleeding'. I'm having a nosebleed with this kid! Where is her d.a.m.n brother so that I can return his sister to him?
(ED: 'Nosebleed' here does not mean being a pervert but rather used as an expression. Note that Cenedy normally speaks in Tagalog/Filipino while Sade usually uses English.
And so, the Filipinos use this 'nosebleed' as an expression when speaking with foreigners, wherein, although they understand what is being said by the foreigner, it's somehow difficult to express their thoughts in fluent English when replying. In short, it's just an expression of having difficulty in expressing oneself. End of cla.s.ses. Bye, kids!)
"I hope you could remind me that you're just a kid." I say, still in bewilderment.
I wonder what she's thinking about―all these weird things in her mind.
Time flies by and soon our time is up. "Your cla.s.s is going to start any minute now. Let's go?" So, we walk hand in hand in the hallway. It's now packed with other students.
"Why is there a Sveta here?"
"They are even holding hands. Who's that girl with the kid?"
"…Oh my! That child is a Maje."
"That's Claude little sister!"
Those are what I've been hearing since we came here. I am not used to the attention they are giving me. I'm just a Scape and I'm very used of being ignored.
I feel Sade's hand tightening while holding my hand.
"Don't mind them." She soothes me. Is she really just a kid?
When I enter the cla.s.sroom, all the eyes of my cla.s.smates are looking at me while whispering; if anyone can even call those as whispers.
Sade sits on my lap since there's no vacant seat around. I really don't mind and she's also not heavy. She scans my notebook and from the look of it, she understands every s.h.i.+t on it.
Preceptor Louie arrives soon. He scans the room and when his eyes land to where I am sitting, he is so surprised. Who wouldn't?
Who would have thought that a Sveta will come here? Let alone a Sveta, she's even Sade, the f*cking sister of Claude!
(ED: Yes she tried. Author tried to screen her cursing. She wrote, 'fvck!ng'. XDD)
"Mr. Livi can you please ask for a spare of chair for our little visitor?" He orders to one of my cla.s.smate.
Livi finds a spare somewhere and puts the chair beside me; in a kind of proximity as if it's originally connected to my own chair.
Sade gets down from my lap and sits on that chair. She won't take off her eyes from me. She's even still holding my arm as if afraid that I'm going to disappear anytime.
"Are you comfortable now, Little Miss?" Preceptor Louie asks.
Sade has no reaction as if he she didn't hear anything. I answered in her behalf for not to be rude.
"I think she is, Sir. Thank you."
"I guess so. Now, let's start our lesson."
Sade later falls asleep beside me while still holding my arm. I touch her hair and smile gently. I feel content when I'm with her. I feel that I don't need to hide anything around her.
Suddenly, out of thin air Rhoanne appears; come Aiden, and then, Claude, in front while the cla.s.s is still on-going.
I don't know what my reaction should be. Shock? Fear? Everyone inside the cla.s.sroom are all shocked, though.
"Maje Claude, Rhoanne and Aiden." Sir Louie says while bowing his head. I know that he's also just as surprised.
I also just realize how superior these Majes are; that even Sir Louie is bowing his head to them. Everyone also is following suit and bowing their heads.
"O-ha…you Gozaimasu, minna!" Rhoanne also bows her head. Somehow, she's startled with everyone's greeting.
"Cen…edy, h.e.l.lo! We are visiting!" Aiden greets happily. Pssh, as if; but I also know his wound is still hurting.
"Ceny, I miss you. Do you know that I can't sleep thinking about you? I'm planning to have a sleepover. Yay!" Rhoanne giggles.
All of my cla.s.smates are looking at me. Their faces are full of questions.
"Shut up both of you." Claude's rebukes the two. He walks towards my direction. He caresses Sade's hair and then, looks at me. Our eyes lock onto each other―those gray eyes that I can stare all day.
"Did you fix her hair?"
"Uhm, yeah. She asked me, though."
(ED: Not directly. Actually you asked her. Shadaff me XDD)
"Thank you."
Oh! Claude smiled! Am I dreaming? He f*cking smiled in front of me.
"Before I forget, the Headmaster is expecting you in his office after cla.s.s."
Those are what he said before disappearing like a bubble. I am then left thinking over the reason. Why does the Headmaster want to see me? Did I do something wrong? As far as I'm concerned, I have not done anything that will harm me or the school. So, why all of a sudden?
Headmaster.
I guess, I can't avoid the inevitable. I need to face my past.
I just hope…
That this time…
Many years had already pa.s.sed…
He found me…

(ED/PR: I had to add a bit(s) on this chapter since Miss Author tended to jump over to different scenes. Sighsss…)
