The sun was glaring through the door, and Nan Yan's conflicting emotions of wanting to leave yet forcing herself to stay was clear as she fidgeted about.

If it had not been for that day, she would have never thought of burning the memorials.

However, when he thought of her words last night and her inexplicable burst, Zhu Feng coldly told her.

“What are you standing there for? Not even daring to go down.”

Nan Yan bit her lower lips and softly replied.

“Yes.”

After that, Nan Yan hurriedly turned around and went out. Watching her retreating figure, Miaoyin asked Zhu Feng.

“w.a.n.g Ye, who was that?”

Zhu Feng coldly spoke.

“Just a lowly servant.”

“Oh…”

Yan w.a.n.gfei nodded at her and looked out again.

When Nan Yan walked out of Wu Ying Hall, it was already daylight.

Though the day usually have warmth to people, today Nan Yan felt rather cold. Zhu Feng's previous words were like a cold sword that had pierced her heart.

Thus she did not stop to look back, instead she walked faster, wanting to escape from that place.

She was cold to the bone, and couldn't help but keep replaying the earlier events in her mind.

Just a lowly servant….

A lowly servant….

In fact, from childhood to adulthood, she did not know how many times she had heard that particular phrase. She had even heard more humiliating words than that phrase and had been able to face them calmly. Yet when that sentence came from Zhu Feng's mouth, it hurt her so much.

She bit her lips and held back the tears in her eyes, continuing to walk. But just around the corner, she suddenly b.u.mped into a person.

“Alas!”

Nan Yan staggered back two steps, looked up and was stunned.

“Daoist priest?”

In the sunlight, a gorgeous and handsome face was looking at her with a smile.

“Miss Si, I have not seen you for a long time.”

He Yi…

He came back again…

Nan Yan then remembered what Yan w.a.n.g and w.a.n.g Xi had just said and guessed why he was not in the palace these days.

"It should be out of the city to pick up Yan w.a.n.gfei."

So she gave him a courtesy.

Then bowed her head and prepared to walk past him.

However, He Yi stood in front of her and stopped her.

“What’s the matter? Why you crying?”

Nan Yan remember her moist eyes and hurriedly wiped them.

“No, no, no. Nothing happened.”

"…"

He Yi looked at her pale face, then looked up at the quiet Wu Ying Hall in the distance, and then said.

“w.a.n.g Ye's temper is bad. If he scolds you, you don’t have to worry about it.”

Hearing this sentence, the Nan Yan got even more sour.

But she clenched her teeth and said softly.

“No, w.a.n.g Ye didn’t make things difficult for me.”"…"

He Yi looked at her quietly for a moment, then said.

“That’s good.”

Hearing that, Nan Yan immediately turned and walked past him.

However, after just two steps away, she suddenly heard He Yi calling her from behind.

“Miss Si.”

Turning back, she found He Yi looking at her with a smile in his eyes.

“This poor Daoist just came back. I heard that last night, w.a.n.g Ye ordered to burn the memorials at the Imperial Library. Everything has been burnt correct?”

“Not all were burned, only the memorials in the last three years.”

“Oh?”

When He Yi heard that, his eyes flickered slightly.

“Very clever.”

"…"

"I heard that Miss Si moved her hands first, is that also correct?”

"…"

"Why did you do that?”

Though He Yi was smiling, his smile was beautiful to the point Nan Yan felt that something was wrong. Hesitating, she whispered out.

“We are only slaves. We can only obey orders.”
