Not believing his eyes, Jason looked at Jennifer in doubt, questioning himself if his ears were ringing.
The auction had just ended with the 13th Grand Spirit Egg and not a single one was auctioned off below 10000 superior cultivation stones at the Ascendion stage.
This fortune was enough to nurture hundreds of people, and it was barely the minimum amount spent for one of the Grand Spirit eggs.
Most of them were sold for an even higher price, which caused Jason to be even more confused about everything that had happened.
"Why did nobody bid for the half-mutated Spiral Spirit egg?" He blurted out, not sure what he had expected to happen.
In the end, the 13 Grand Spirit eggs had been 1000 times more expensive than the one Spiral Spirit egg he had purchased, which showed that the powerhouses had more than enough resources to purchase it.
It was only when Jennifer explained the situation that he understood it to a certain extent.
"Jason, there is a big difference between an investment with a fixed return rate and an investment into something that is bound to cost a fortune without knowing whether it is a treasure or simply trash.
While your Spiral Spirit egg has many issues, it was already examined beforehand and even the auction house didn't bother about it, at all.
As such, it is almost certain that the chance to find a solution to solve the egg's problems will be slim.
To put it simply, you will have to invest a fortune to have it examined again and procure information about the Spiral Spirit egg's issues before you start searching for a suitable solution.
This investment is not worth it, and everything combined might even be more expensive than what the other 13 Grand Spirit Eggs were priced at!
As for the unscathed and normal Grand Spirit Eggs, they can be hatched and sealed within a specific environment with the right tools, changing the surrounding area completely so as to provide them nourishment.
It might cost a small fortune to construct everything that will be close to perfect and efficient enough to use properly, but the long-term return is terrifyingly high once the preparations have been completed.
Thus, you will certainly get something in return, and it's worth more than the wealth that was initially invested to purchase them.
In the end, it will only need a few years, or more likely decades to make up for the total costs of everything you invested.
However, after that, you will only receive profit from the Spirits which is the reason for them to be auctioned off that high, in comparison to the Spiral Spirit egg you've purchased!"
Jennifer's tone was serious, and at the end, she even sounded as if she wanted to lecture him.
Despite that, Jason just nodded his head, understanding that it would be quite difficult to figure out that it were the dead mana veins that clogged up the Spiral cultivation veins in a complex manner.
This was essentially the reason for the auction house to call the Spiral Spirit egg a half mutation, and his fortune!
They were assuming that the dead mana veins were in fact, an unmutated part of the spirits cultivation veins, which would cripple it permanently.
Other than that, there was also the fact that nobody would know how to expel the dead mana veins without damaging the Spiral Spirit egg.
At least, Jason assumed that nobody would know, or be competent enough of doing something like this because a single mistake could damage the Spiral cultivation veins that were clogged up.
In order to achieve what he wanted to make possible, eyes like his were required in addition to a special means to expel the dead mana veins.
As such, Jason had many advantages because he met one of the requirements while he had already crafted a plan for the second one.
Solaris was his final solution to expel the dead mana veins, just like it expelled impurities from the ores he forged.
Jason knew that he had to tweak a little bit on the way he would have to use Solaris because he didn't want to hurt the Spiral Spirit egg, let alone injure it severely.
Thus, Jason planned to bind it to his soul, allowing him to feel his Spiral Spirit egg's pain.
Through this, he wouldn't have to rely on his instincts, but could clearly figure out when Solaris' flame was too strong, and when he could increase the temperature in order to reach the necessary heat to unclog the veins while not damaging the egg.
With that in mind, Jason eagerly awaited the moment at which he would finally lay his hands on the Spiral Spirit egg, only to realise that he and Jennifer were still waiting inside the VVIP lounge with a few more powerhouses.
Looking around, he noticed that the remaining powerhouses had successfully won bids for something.
Because of that, they waited in the lounge while everyone else had already left.
Many powerhouses were disappointed because they hadn't been able to procure the Grand Spirit eggs, and according to their expression and the glint of greed within their eyes, Jason could easily decipher that they had ill intentions.
'Fortunately, the City Lord didn't ask Jennifer to bid for a Grand Spirit egg! Otherwise, some of the greedier powerhouses would've possibly pursued us and stolen the items we procured!'
He thought, only to see the faint smile on the faces of the other powerhouses as they stared mockingly into the eyes of the other powerhouses that left the lounge empty-handed.
Seeing this, Jason couldn't help but feel weird.
It was as if some powerhouses were trying to provoke the other side, initiating a large-scale battle.
This was not even unlikely because most powerhouses were Aeus and Devirs that had been glaring at each other with killing intent the entire time.
A neutral city like Lanro was rare, and in most cases, the cities of the Julandra region were divided into the Aeus and Devir territory with only a few human settlements.
In the end, Manyrs were considered weaker than Aeus and Devirs, but that was majorly the reason for the fact that the Manyrs didn't have customised Aura techniques and other unique manuals!
Because they were forced to use the martial art, cultivation, body refinement and aura techniques of the Aeus and Devir race, the Manyrs were always held back to a certain extent, even if they only awakened a single cultivation vein.
Every race had slight differences in their physique, and this difference was not made up for in the techniques which the Aeus and Devir races distributed.
As such, Jason knew from the beginning that most Manyrs had more obstacles in their path to become just as strong as the two winged races.
However, instead of trying to become independent or creating their own, customised techniques, most Manyrs voluntarily submitted to the Aeus and Devir race.
Even Jason's progress was slightly restricted owing to the fact that the techniques he used were customised to a particular race.
Only the Balance of the Universe cultivation technique could be considered as a neutral technique, allowing most races with mana veins to practice it.
Nevertheless, even the Floating Sky technique was something Jason had to alter while exerting it in order to generate the most potential out of it.
As such, the obstacles in front of him were decreasing.
Now, he had more than enough means to become stronger with every single day that passed.
Exactly this was what Jason required to be because the dangers looming around him and those that had just become important to him were increasing just as fast, if not faster!
