This is not the case in Sacchi however, for the undead are real but vanished for more than a century, but now they rise once more, preparing to dread bodies of the civilians of Dos. It is true what they say, those who die remain dead forever, however, there are those who possess the power to awaken the dead with the reaper on their left and the spells they chant.
Necromancers, skeletons, wherein no skins are present, are covered with robes of either violet and black. Stare at them, and you will see no pupils nor eyes, only dread and fright. Long ago, these species were haunted down by the kingdom of Pureheart due to their ill will, which is to create an army of the undead by the use of their powers. Now, they plan to rise amidst the ongoing war between the two kingdoms, but little do the Necromancers know that their regime will end before it even started.
The news has reached the kingdom of Pureheart early in the morning, shocking the king. According to witnesses, the dead has been spotted, roaming within the walls of Dos. In response, the king prepares an army to defeat the doers before they claim their vengeance after their defeat a century ago. Surprisingly, Quartz and his falcon was one of those chosen ones.
"I cannot afford another regime of necromancers to rise in the middle of an ongoing war with the opposing kingdom. My daughter, do what you must, give not the slightest opportunity for the necromancers to rise." Before the king, the daughter kneels, listening to the instructions of his father, the king of Pureheart.
"I will spare no mercy to the necromancers, you have my word father, and before the sun sets the war shall be over." The princess promises.
"But your majesty, if we are to use such an army, what about the other kingdom? They will win when it comes to the number of soldiers, and where is ours? Dead. Slaughtered by the hands of an issue that has just begun. I'd suggest we focus on Witherheart first before proceeding to the issue with the Necromancers. After all, they are merely forming a group." Brook, a pillar of the monarchy of Pureheart complains, somehow doubting the king's instructions.
"But Admiral, if I may, the king speaks wisely. If we are to focus on Witherheart, then the Necromancers will have an opportunity to rise, by then, they would be unstoppable. They are using the war as a diversion, confusing us." Sir Efron sides with the decision of the king.
"My words are final. The war against the necromancers will only take a day. Sir Efron is right." The king calls out the final decision. In response to the king's orders, the pillars and the army make their way to Dos, the city of fire. The army is much smaller than the army used in sieges. Most are infantries such as p.a.w.ns while some are knights, riding on their hippogriffs. The use of trebuchets or other allies, are not needed for just like what the king said, this war will only take a day since they have recently risen.
"The undead are real?" As they continue to saunter to the city, Quartz decided to ask his falcon about the enemy they're about to face. He is scared to see the brain-craving monsters and the "grim reapers" that control them and at the same time, the young man is eager to learn more about them.
"You see sire, long ago, about a century, when the two kingdoms were still united under one leaders.h.i.+p, Sacchi faced a grave threat known as the Necromancers who apparently have the power to raise the dead back to live with their spells of enchantments and their long cunning scythes. Above the Necromancers is their leader, known as a sage. The sage holds such extreme power that even the living can fall under their spell."
"A sage? They can both control the dead and the alive?"
"Yes, sire. A sage looks similar to a necromancer. If you stare at a sage, you could fall under their spell and the next thing you know is that you're following their ill will. Long ago, there was a sage named Ghetsis who rose within the ashes and flames of the volcano of Dos. He has the heart of greed, longing for the motherland to fall under his supremacy, thus he alongside with the necromancers has formed the most powerful alliance. Sooner or later, the dead rose from the ground, following the commands of Ghetsis. However, Ghetsis's reign only remained momentarily for it has fallen quickly.
Since Sacchi was united during the time, its foes were quite easy to defeat, and Ghetsis is no exception. Only in a matter of months did Ghetsis reign over a few states. It immediately collapsed due to Sacchi's powerful army, ruled under one king. He is the same king who wields the orb given by the angel. Seeing his supremacy collapsed, with the necromancers being slaughtered to near extinction, Ghetsis made the decision to suicide. His final words were, "I cannot win this war with Sacchi united, but once its unity crumbles, I shall rise from the ashes and will be reborn. Only then will Sacchi be mine."
He does not want anyone to take his life except for himself, however, some say now that he's dead he could be brought back to life by a necromancer." Endeavor explains.
"So... are you saying Ghetsis has risen once more? Since the necromancer has the ability to bring the dead to life, they could bring their dead leader back right?"
"I believe you are correct. However, it is too early to a.s.sume if the sage has risen." Endeavor replies.
After a two hour journey to through the woods, the pillars and its army has arrived at a hilltop wherein from there, they could scout the city. However, upon arrival, shocked they are to see the city burning under fire. They could hear the screams of civilians running for their lives. Only now did they realize their arrival was late for the necromancers has started the attack on the city already.
Quartz was indeed terrified, seeing the undead attack the living. On the rooftops of houses and buildings, the necromancers could be seen, watching their creation (undead), bringing chaos to the eyes of many, not even the children were spared.
"Lord Ghetsis, arise from the ashes, and restore your supremacy." In a synchronized voice, the necromancers chant while pointing their staffs directly to the sun. The ground then cracks, as lava spews out of the mantle. The whole city begins to shake, as a man similar to the image of a necromancer emerges. He holds a staff that differs from the rest of the necromancers.
"I... I am reborn." Ghetsis murmurs, crus.h.i.+ng his staff to the ground, causing more of the undead to emerge. The city has fallen into conflict, and now it is up to the army of Pureheart to defeat them before history repeats itself.
