Chapter 657 - Internship (1)

Chapter 657: Interns.h.i.+p (1)

Luo Xiuen and Jian Yumin arrived in Beijing together.

After that, Luo Xiuen went to meet Jian Yiling with the gifts that Jian Yumin had prepared.

As she handed the gifts over to Jian Yiling, they talked about the latest project that Jian Yiling was doing.

Jian Yiling was going to perform a heart surgery. She had personally requested to handle this surgery.

Furthermore, Jian Yiling told the research inst.i.tution that she was willing to take on any surgeries that were related to the heart.

In order to make things convenient for Jian Yiling, the research inst.i.tution screened individuals who needed a heart surgery in Beijing.

Then, Luo Xiuen said to Jian Yiling: “When you announced that you were going to accept heart surgeries, our inst.i.tution’s website was immediately flooded with a bunch of heart surgery applications.”

“It must have been hard work for you guys,” Jian Yiling said. She was never comfortable with bothering people. No matter how long she had known them, she would not want to ask someone to go out of their way to help her.

“It’s not hard work. It’s work that we’re meant to handle anyways. Don’t treat me with so much courtesy. If you keep doing that, I will be unhappy!”

“Mhmm.”

“Also, is it true that you’re getting engaged?” Luo Xiuen asked. She could not hold back her curiosity.

“Yeah.”

“Oh! Then when the time comes, do you want us all to go and support you? We can’t let your future fiance look down upon you! Furthermore, the research inst.i.tution will also prepare a dowry for you!”

After she finished speaking, Luo Xiuen paused for a moment. She realized that they couldn’t do that: “Ahh, I forgot that we can’t publicize your ident.i.ty. There will be people watching you. Therefore, we must not be too high-profile. Hmmm, then maybe we can forget about the dowry for now! However, we will still support you! We can say that we’re your friends! Yes! I’m your very good friend!”

Jian Yiling felt bad for saying no. Therefore, she let Luo Xiuen do whatever she wanted.

Sister En always did things in a speedy manner. Furthermore, she always kept her word as well.

“Oh right, our research inst.i.tution is planning to launch a new product in Beijing the day after tomorrow. Do you want to be there as well?”

“Okay.”

Jian Yiling had time the day after tomorrow. Therefore, she could attend the launch.

###

As Jian Yiling stayed in Beijing because of Zhai Yunsheng, her teacher at Beijing University arranged an interns.h.i.+p for her.

All medical students were required to gain practical experience at hospitals.

Jian Yiling was no exception.

And thus, Jian Yiling’s interns.h.i.+p was at Beijing University’s subsidiary hospital.

However, she was scolded by Dr. Chu on the first day of her interns.h.i.+p.

“What’s wrong with you? Why can’t you do this simple task? I asked you to go and communicate with the patient. However, you barely said anything to the patient! You just commenced the examination without even talking to the patient! Furthermore, if you don’t ask the patient any questions, how do you know where their pain and discomfort is?”

Dr. Chu was a man in his early thirties. He had a medium-sized build and a squarish face. However, his appearance made him look like he was around forty years old.

Jian Yiling was silent. She did not attempt to defend herself.

She was not good at arguing with people.

Dr. Chu started laughing out of anger: “And you’re questioning my diagnosis? Are you a doctor or am I a doctor? Who do you think you are? You’re a student for goodness sake!”

Jian Yiling was getting scolded not because she did not carefully question the patient. But rather, she said that there was an issue with Dr. Chu’s diagnosis of a patient.

This triggered Dr. Chu.

He was a professional doctor! Why was this intern doubting his words? This was incredibly insulting to him!

And thus, just looking at Jian Yiling tilted Dr. Chu.

Furthermore, he deliberately scolded her in front of all the other interns and doctors in the department. He did not show the slightest mercy.

In fact, if it was an intern with a weaker mentality, the intern would have probably started crying by now.
