Chapter 541: She’s Facing Death

The vehicle stopped in front of a three-story building that was located on the outskirts of Beijing.

The building’s architecture appeared to look no different from ordinary residential buildings.

The exterior walls were constructed with red bricks and the roof had black tiles. The building looked rather old and dated.

However, once a person entered the building, they would quickly realize that the interior decoration was completely different.

The inside was a modern and technological office building.

Then, Jian Yiling entered the autopsy room which was located on the second floor. Superintendent Ruan also asked for an a.s.sistant to help Jian Yiling.

As Superintendent Ruan watched Jian Yiling work, one of his team members began to frantically knock on the door.

Thus, he walked over to the door: “What’s the matter?”

“Something happened. There’s someone at our door.”

“Send them away.”

“Ummm, these people don’t seem to know what we’re doing here.”

“You don’t say! Many of us here don’t even know what we’re doing.”

“But… They’re here to pick a fight. Furthermore, they brought a lot of people. They want us to let someone go. In addition, they said that they’re going to call the police.”

Upon hearing this, Superintendent Ruan glanced at Jian Yiling. Jian Yiling was busy dissecting the body in front of her.

Then, he turned around and said: “Okay, I will go with you to deal with the matter.”

He didn’t want those people to make a ruckus. Although the building did not look like much, it was still an office for the Crime Investigation Division.

And thus, Superintendent Ruan headed towards the door. At the door, he saw a young man in his early twenties.

The young man was tall in height and wore a black t-s.h.i.+rt. In addition to this, he had sharp features on his face and phoenix eyes that were biting cold.

The young man was also accompanied by two bodyguards.

What was he doing?

Zhai Yunsheng narrowed his eyes and looked at the person in front of him.

He was here to bring Jian Yiling home. However, once he arrived, he realized that something was off.

A bodyguard walked over to report the situation to Zhai Yunsheng: “It’s confirmed. The vehicle that I saw is parked at the door.”

Then, Superintendent Ruan looked at the person in front of him with interest.

“Where is she?” Zhai Yunsheng asked.

“Who are you asking about?”

“Jian Yiling.”

Oh? He was here for Jian Yiling.

“Who are you to her?”

“A friend.”

“A friend?” Superintendent Ruan repeated with a smile on his face, “Really? It seems as though you’re more like her boyfriend.”

“It’s none of your business.”

Zhai Yunsheng’s voice was cold and impatient.

As this place was slightly different from his expectations, he was more patient than usual. If it wasn’t for that fact, Zhai Yunsheng wouldn’t waste his time speaking to the man in front of him.

When he saw Zhai Yunsheng’s impatient and anxious expression, Superintendent Ruan knew that this person cared about Jian Yiling.

Superintendent Ruan laughed and told Zhai Yunsheng: “Well, she’s in a small room right now. She’s facing death and blood.”

Upon hearing this, the hostility and anger in Zhai Yunsheng’s eyes became even more obvious.

Superintendent Ruan laughed again before he quickly said: “Okay okay, I won’t make fun of you anymore. Otherwise, you’re going to tear this place down! The person that you’re worried about is busy right now. She can’t come out. If you don’t believe what I’m saying, then you can come in with me.”

Of course, Zhai Yunsheng decided to follow him.

He would not be at rest until he saw Jian Yiling.
