Chapter 398: Jian Yubo’s Childhood Trauma (1)

Jian Yubo returned to the Old Jian Residence for the second time. This time, he also planned to talk to Grandpa Jian.

The first time he visited, he had said that he would visit three times. He would give Grandpa Jian three chances to choose.

This time, Jian Shuhong was also there.

However, even though Jian Shuhong was there, Jian Yubo still said the same thing.

Jian Shuhong couldn’t believe the words that were coming from his son’s mouth.

“Yubo, what is this?” Jian Shuhong asked. His face was in pain as he questioned Jian Yubo. He couldn’t understand the logic behind his son’s actions.

If he hadn’t heard it with his own ears, he would have definitely a.s.sumed that the person telling him about this was lying to him. His son could never have done such a thing!

Jian Yubo looked at his angry father with indifference. He saw his father’s reaction to his actions. However, he didn’t respond in any way.

He was incredibly calm. It was as though he was someone not related to the Jian family.

Grandpa Jian used a strict and angry tone to speak to Jian Yubo: “I will not give you the Jian family. If you want to destroy the Jian family, then go ahead and do so! My family is not afraid to start all over again from scratch!”

In the face of Grandpa Jian and Jian Shuhong’s anger, Jian Yubo calmly said to both of them: “I’ll come back next time.”

“Don’t come back! The answer will not change!”

Grandpa Jian was utterly furious.

This time, he was so angry that he once again smashed everything on the table. He made a lot of noise.

When Jian Yubo walked out of the door, he walked into Jian Yiling. She was waiting at the staircase.

Last time, it was a coincidence. However, this time, Jian Yiling had been waiting for him.

Unlike the last time when they were silent for the entire interaction, this time, Jian Yiling asked Jian Yubo a question.

“If I give you everything, will you still be my brother? If so, I’ll give everything to you.”

Jian Yiling did not know what was going on in Jian Yubo’s mind as of now.

However, if he merely wanted to inherit everything that the Jian family had, then Jian Yiling was willing to give everything to him. She just hoped that his relations.h.i.+p with the Jian family would not change.

Jian Yiling’s words made Jian Yubo freeze.

The frost in his eyes melted for a moment.

However, after standing there for a while, he walked away.

Jian Yubo’s body appeared to look determined and lonely as he left.

Time traveled back to many years ago.

Inside one of the villas of the Jian family.

“You want this Go record, don’t you?”

A woman asked the ten year old boy in front of her. She held an out of print record in front of her.

The young boy reached out for the record.

However, as soon as he touched the record, the woman withdrew her hand again.

“Jian Yubo! Do you not understand the human language or something? How many times have I told you?! There’s no future in Go! Why don’t you put your mind on your studies right now! If you don’t do so, who will take over our family business in the future?! I’m doing this for your own good! You will understand what I’m trying to do when you grow up!”

The young boy was the woman’s second child. Her first child did not grow up to become the person that she had hoped for him to be.

And thus, she was now particularly strict on her second child.

She didn’t beat or scold her first child. However, she had done these with her second child.

The young boy didn’t reply. He did not agree with the woman.

His silence made the woman even angrier. She continued to scold him whilst pointed to the record in her hand:

“You don’t have anything to say? Fine! Isn’t this the record that you spent months looking for? Well, it’s in my hands now! And I’m telling you that you have to listen to me! You can’t do anything else! Studying hard is your only option!”
