57 Chapter 57: Fighting Myself

'Gughhh... why is it that every d.a.m.n time I wake up, all I feel is pain? Like I'm getting tired of just thinking "ouch" each time I wake up.'

I opened my eyes, sitting up and mumbling, "so if I remember right... hostile Dungeon... evil crabs... snake... puppets-!"

I sat up suddenly. "THAT WEIRD GUY!"

Melted bits of bronze in a mound on the floor.

Splintered wood from the puppets left lying on the ground, still mostly whole.

Luna and Fenrir both still asleep, though I could see Fenrir's body twitching after my shout.

I slowly got up, feeling like every muscle was stiff, more so than I'd ever experienced.

'G.o.d f.u.c.king dammit! Do I need to spend 2 days healing myself all over again?'

Y'know, sometimes I wish this was a full-blown video game world, cause then I could just refill my HP and it would be fine.

That'd be nice.

I looked at my hip, and the sword sheathed there. 'So that was definitely real... and I'm super confused, not gonna lie.'

Skills:

Dark Amplification: Dark-Magic +30% gathering speed

Faint Light: The blade can glow with a faint, grey light.

Venom Blade: A deadly poison will infect any wound inflicted by the blade.

Heat Resistant: Won't be weakened by highly hot temperatures easily.

Cold Resistant: Won't be weakened by highly cold temperatures easily.

Hunger: Feeds on soul energy and great sources of elemental energy to grow the spirits within.

...wow that is some good s.h.i.+t right there. Yeah. I'm officially 10/10 about that possession experience.

Oh! And that IceFire! YES!

Hm... but it's not its own spell yet.

All I can basically do with it is make a fire spell if my own become of an icy nature.

Still awesome though. Also I finally know how to use Dark Spells! Now I know all the 4 elements and am going to become the avatar! Ahahahaha!

'Okay... should probably wake them up.'

Here's a good question: was I any better off after all this?

Don't get me wrong, the Spirit Vessel is a FANTASTIC development, and I love it, truly I do. Plus I learned a few things about magic.

'But... uh... I still have no music: that's bad. I am now in a lot of pain and having difficulty with basic movements: also bad. Plus, on top of all that, I have no clue how to split my mind intentionally!'

'Yeah, we are f.u.c.ked.'

'Basically if there is any more to this Dungeon, we are gonna die.'

You have have a moment where you try to look in two places at once, like looking both right and left simultaneously, without turning your head?

Imagine doing that, except suddenly, you CAN. You mind splits into two, each half independent and looking a different direction.

That's what kinda just happened... by accident... from me talking to myself and trying to both walk and focus on both Luna and Fenrir, as well as b.i.t.c.h to myself about how awful I feel.

'...hi me.'

'Hi me #2.'

'Hey! Why am I #2?'

'Because I'm #1!'

'Screw you a.s.shole! I'm #1!'

'f.u.c.k you!'

Both of us seemed to have a... mental battle? We both had control over about 50% of our soul energy, and used it to fight inside our minds, as our body stood still.

After about 10 minutes, we had learned quite a bit about fighting within the mind.

For example: using your willpower you can move soul and mental energies to attack another mind, or control it(I use music as a medium the most easily, therefore Demonic Tunist). However, something one of me tried doing was separating soul energy as a 'wall' while the consciousness took the rest to go do something else.

So that me ended up separating out strings of soul energy and building 'bricks' with the intent of a wall, and created a fortress around my side to defend myself as I attacked the other me to pull attention.

Then, I pulled back, and as the other me attacked. However, he(I?) found a wall of soul energy most unlike anything else made throughout the battle, not a wall of will, but a mental barrier formed of intent and soul power.

So I as the attacker drew back to begin building my own walls, understanding what I, the defender, had done.

Eventually it became a war of two fortresses with blitz attacks of will and power, and finally the first me once again innovated, creating opening in the wall to a labyrinth.

The issue with a solid wall is that it's hard to attack from without completely exposing yourself, but by putting winding, intersecting paths and tricks within it, the enemy can end up lost within my own mind, while I hunt them as they flee within my territory.

Unsurprisingly, I won(technically I also lost, I'm saying that the me who first cane up with it won), and as I fused back together I found that the other me hasn't been wasting time either, while I'd been innovating defense, he'd found multiple ways to attack I'd experienced but actually never noticed!

So the attacker me decided to try creating subtle distractions and the like to throw the defending me off my game.

So a good way to attack is to use soul energy to essentially send messages to their mind, like talking by telepathy, but being VERY distracting about it.

Do you know how hard it is to focus when someone streams 'Mama Mia' into your head?!

Anyways, we eventually ended our war, fused back together, and I continued shuffling(leg muscles couldn't bend enough to properly, fully walk) to them, and began to consider how to wake them up.

'Hmm... let's try that.'

I wanted to see if I could enter one of their souls, and see if they also had a mind-parlance, the area they built with their soul(basically mine had just been a battlefield with fortresses, but they would probably have different ones if they have them).

But I'm definitely not going in Luna's.

'No officer! I'm innocent! I didn't go snooping in a young girls privacy, I swear!'

'Shut it, you perverted criminal! How despicably shameless, going into a young girls mind! Just admit you were going to force her to do nasty things!

'I wasn't!'

Yeah... that would go over well.

'Fenrir buddy, you're my only hope!'

And with that questionable reference, I hit once again my recurring issue: no musical instrument.

Of course I COULD just go in, but that might hurt him! I think. The mountain crab seemed to be kinda messed up with how some of his soul got kinda cut up and patched back together in the wrong order as I brute-forced commands through.

Continuous, gentle music! Until my Proficiency gets higher, that's the way to safely go!

Speaking of, what are my proficiencies at right now? It's been awhile.

Okay... my durability dropped a lot. I don't like that. Also what the actual h.e.l.l is BloodThirst?

I do know what Soul-Split near-certainly is.

Also WHY is the Proficiency for Draining Darkness so HIGH?'

'...hmm??? Light and dark spells grow to be balanced...?'

Ah... alright.

I looked around, throwing all the info aside.

'Hmmm... maybe I can use the wood from the puppets as drumsticks? Or should I just give up on waking up Fenrir with soul energy and just shake him? He looks near awake anyways with how he's twitched whenever I make too much noise...'
