The Serpent swung its head around, screaming in pain, a loud roar shaking the cavern as it slammed its head towards a pillar, Fenrir disappearing back into smoke, leaving the snake to smash its own head into the rock.
Yet again it screamed, my ears ringing as I stumbled back. 'GAH, that's loud!'
I've already decided: I am NEVER getting a snake in my Dungeon!
I think I'd rather go on a serpentine genocide!
Kill all the snakes! AAAAGH!
'Snakes are cold-blooded and should be weak to sudden cold... I don't sense a lot of fire elements from him so he's definitely not an exception!'
"Freezing!"
About 40 Mana is gone in an instant, and all the venom in its mouth froze over as frost crept over its wound, freezing all the meat inside the wound and it flicked back as the cold leached into its body, the snake letting out a screech as its green aura tried to resist a level 5 spell with 40 mana.
It's movements slowed more and more, but I knew it wouldn't last long. Level 5 or not, it won't kill it with its aura resisting it. It WILL waste a ton of its mana and slow it down for awhile, which is what I really want here...
I jumped forward as I determined it was reaching its slowest speed, and Luna released the water whip she'd been holding back for awhile, while Fenrir once again struck, carving out more flesh from the hole in its head, as it tried to swing its head around, cold slowing its movements severely, more aura trying to block Fenrir as the cold was being fought off, and then the whip struck as well.
As it was being hit on every side, the serpent trashed about, trying to resist all the damage and get rid of the d.a.m.nable cold.
'Burning! You want to be warm again? Let's see how you do being cooked from the inside out!'
Heat rose quickly in the serpent, and it relaxed momentarily to fight off Fenrir, but then the temperature climbed, and the serpent once again cast its mana to preventing temperature from killing it, this time leading to blood actually bubbling near the surface of its wounds from the amount of heat I just pumped in.
It swung its head to dislodge Fenrir, and I threw a Flashbang spell to dazzle its remaining eye, causing it to rear back and miss the pillar it would've crunched Fenrir on.
It opened its mouth to hiss, and tried to bend around and bite Fenrir in its head, only to feel something hot smack into its mouth.
'???'
The serpents mouth shut in surprise as Fenrir turned into smoke and bolted away, and I laughed at it.
'Hope you like eating my grenade, or Detonation. d.a.m.n I wonder how much 15 mana will do.'
Aura flooded into the serpents mouth, and it resisted decently against the Detonation, meaning it's mouth only received burns, not directly exploding its head... but...
'As expected, an animal won't think about how all the digestive system is connected. If you resist one way, the force will be redirected until it finds an escape.'
The Serpent's one eye widened in pain and shock as the Detonation occurred, fire and force slamming down its throat and burning away organs.
'Don't think I'll give you any rest, you d.a.m.ned snake! This is for waking me up! Freezing!'
The temperature dropped once again, near unresisted, though with a lot less mana powering it, slowing down the blood and speed of the damaged serpent.
It's eye focused in suddenly seeing something approach.
It's instinctive mind didn't understand what it was seeing but it was familiar... 'ah it's what my other eye saw before-'
"SLICT!"
My blade buried itself in the serpents eye.
'Burn!' I willed will all my might, throwing fire into my blade and releasing it into the serpents head.
"Bsssh-BOOM!"
A flare of fire blasted out of the other eye socket as the fire burned straight through, and I felt the blade feed eagerly.
I looked at the blade, with its metal showing the same red-black as my flesh, with that core of white. I could see the green-black being taken into the blade, the black intensifying as strings of both red and green appeared along the blade in curving patterns and veins, visible as lines of mana.
The gold needle with a white core was... changed by the purple-red, the gold faded, leaving a red-purple darkened to near black, with a white-silver core still in there.
I pulled the blade out, feeling the process was done, and stared a bit.
The blades length went from a long knife and had suddenly doubled!
Now it was without a doubt a short sword!
The guard adjusted as well, while the blade was wide and curved more like a machete but thinner than a machete, yet thicker than a common sword.

'So because it took after me and absorbed my energy, it replicated demon flesh and had potential for light and whatever the white energy inside the gold is. But it ate an actual demon's soul and energy, so it's now become a blade fully of true demonic flesh and power.'

'Well... what's up with the Poison and Fire bits? More importantly, where the frickity-frack did ice come from? Also those three abilities...'
'And ice?'
'So the skills are created from possessing those elements? Alright...'
No I'm not ignoring the Dungeons insults! But how else can I respond? I'd even noticed that I was better with freezing that moving water!
"Huh? Blade of Darkness Spiri-"
I suddenly froze after pulling my blade out of the Snake, so Luna crept over, feeling concerned.
"Is everything ok"
"AAAAAAH!" I shouted suddenly, cutting her off as I jumped up in the air!
"Yes! YES! EUREKA! IT SAYS 'Spirit'!"
If it is a true spirit I can bond with, then won't I get 2 more as a quest reward, and begin to use adaptive magic!? If I'd had it earlier, I could've chained it down and sent fire down it's gullet at a thought!
'Hehehehe, HEHEHEHE, HAHAHAHAHA!'
The slightly feminine voice of the Dungeon spoke without me taking notice.
