In the dining room, Xia Ning took some vegetables for Enoch and cooked some meat.

Qiao Yu walked out of the kitchen and put a bowl of boiled water and a gla.s.s of water in front of her.

“It won't be spicy if you wash it,” Qiao Yu explained and started cooking again.

Xia Ning looked at his handsome face and curled her lips a little. She put the meat in the water and the spicy oil on the meat scattered in the water, just like the worrying clouds over her head that day.

When the hotpot was almost done, Gao Wanhua came back.

The moment she walked in, she smelled hotpot. Seeing the family of three eating hotpot, she said with a smile, “I should have come back for dinner. Who made it?”

Since they could eat hotpot together, it seemed the morning's conflict was resolved.

Xia Ning stood up immediately and said to Gao Wanhua, “Mom, Qiao Yu made the hotpot.”

“Oh, really?” Gao Wanhua looked at Qiao Yu and said with a smile, “Looks like I have a capable son who knows how to cook hotpot.”

“Yeah, Qiao Yu is very good! I don't even know how to do it,” Xia Ning followed.

Xia Ning watched Gao Wanhua leave and sat down. Just then, a pair of chopsticks reached over and put some vegetables for her. She wanted to say she was full but the man on the other side spoke first.

“If you like it, I'll cook it for you more often.”

Xia Ning's heart skipped a beat. She looked up at him and he was looking back at her as well. Although his face was calm, the gentleness in his eyes seemed to be overflowing.

“Sure.” Xia Ning smiled slightly and lowered her head to continue eating.

Even though she did not like hotpot, this feeling was too good. She liked it.

When Gao Wanhua came out, Xia Ning and the others were done eating and left the mess to the servants. The entire family was sitting on the couch and watching TV.

Enoch ate too much and laid in Xia Ning's arms lazily. Afraid that he might catch a cold, Xia Ning took a blanket and covered him with it. Qiao Yu, on the other hand, sat on the couch and continued with his unfinished work in the day.

Gao Wanhua saw that Xia Ning was getting better at taking care of Enoch and was even more satisfied with her. Qiao Yu was really lucky to have such a capable and good-tempered wife.

Xia Ning tucked Enoch in and looked at Gao Wanhua. “Mom, if you have anything to say, just say it.”

“Did you fire Tianlang?” Gao Wanhua asked.

Xia Ning frowned. “Who did you hear that from?”

“Your aunt said it when I went to the hospital to visit your uncle today. I don't want to interfere with anything. I just thought that you have a good relations.h.i.+p with Tianlang. I don't think you would take his job away.” Gao Wanhua sighed.

For Gao Wanhua to ask, Xia Ning basically guessed what happened. Gao Lihua must have kicked up a fuss in front of her again.

She still said the same thing. How could siblings from the same mother be so different?
